What a great group of "doowop" singers Rudy West and the Five Keys were! This group (and band) also puts out a terrific sound of the old tunes the original Five Keys did. With Rudy's gorgeous lead voice and that terrific second lead, the music of this quartet sounds just as wonderful as it ever did. Terrific show!!
I see Rudy West, Ripley Ingram, Dickie Smith and Bernie West. Fantastic video from 30 years ago. This was the creme de la creme of R&B vocal groups. I'm a bit surprised that Maryland Pierce wasn't part of this lineup?
Rudy was a real gentlemen. Matter off fact, this is an unusual group because they sang for a major label with full orchestration. But no matter what, he always gave fabulous performances. In the early days at the Paramount they were unusual in that every group was wearing fantastic outlets. Heartbeats had Red Suits. But not Rudy. Always looked like he was going to a fancy ball.

I have to admit, I waited a long time to see Rudy West at his last show but there were two problems. FIRST, THE WHITE Diamonds who nasauate me has taken too much time because all the groups were under a time constraint. HERBIE Kocks was responsible for the whole affair because he put one this show. Rudy West last show!
