@ArinKeshishi an Iranian bassist, composer and artistic director of the Marmoucha Orchestra, is known for combining Western techniques, classical music, jazz and flamenco. Keshishi, who also has roots in Armenian culture, brings together contemporary jazz and Eastern influences. The Marmoucha Orchestra consists of young musicians who jointly bridge the gap between East and West, with an emphasis on music from North Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Their repertoire ranges from Maghreb and Middle Eastern melodies to jazz, pop, contemporary and electronic music. Each member has their own specialization, technique and repertoire.
Self-reflection, the recently released debut album by Arin Keshishi, serves as a guiding compass in his musical journey in which he reflects on his previous experiences. Since his move to Amsterdam, the Marmoucha Orchestra has played an important role in his musical development. That is why he sees this collaboration as a unique opportunity to experiment and combine his music with the orchestral expertise of the Marmoucha Orchestra.
