This genuinely wells me up, very profound. It's a genius that can write hilarious songs like 'Betty Turpin', 'Two Margarines On The Go', and 'Y Reg' and then write beautiful melancholy laden numbers like this, and 'You're Like Manchester', and 'The Man Who Lives On The M62' - all in character too. The man is a national treasure.
@jazzybabe1 I've just seen "one foot in the gravey" show by ( jilted) John shuttleworth, bit late i know it was made in 2001, its one of the funniest things i've seen since David Cameron become P.M., his unique sense of british humour seems to have gone under the comical radar. I think Graham Fellows is brilliant now.
@tigerstripes1001 Better late than never ! He's great live - I saw him at Worcester. His videos ' It's Nice Up North' and 'Southern Softies' are shown every so often on Sky Arts 1.
Its not as if I want the money back on that Dot scramble bike, its a good runner now. But you never sent on the spare inner tube, and im still waiting, yours, Mr Drake.

Wells me up every time the choir suckerpunch comes in!
Oh yes. Lucky enough to have seen him sing it live on 3 occasions. The guy is a legend.
Ive just discovered John Shuttleworth songs - they are brilliant!
People didn't believe me when I told them about his pigeons in flight song. Shame on them for not knowing of this genius!
Lyrical master class. What a legend 💙✌️
