They can always put in a new battery. It's weird, they're technically immortal in their universe.
that’s what i thought too but neither scenario makes complete sense. like batteries provide power so it makes sense to say the battery is their lifeline but the way they said they “slipped” her a “bad” battery & describing how great it felt to try duracell batteries for the first time makes it sound like they’re referring to drugs
@@misseselise3864 also hard drugs can kill you, so maybe Duracell is like weed or shrooms and the bad batteries are like roofies or K-2 or something, since you never see someone with a Duracell battery die in the commercials
The fact that Ikea actually thought it'd be a great idea to have a little kid play with a "toy" like that..... Just.... No, dear god no! That one literally made my skin crawl!
The whole black face thing about the chocolate man just made me sit there like 😐 like bro can’t a man just be made of chocolate without needing to be seen as black? That never came across my mind. He’s *literally* just chocolate bro. Also, pretty sure the commercial with the robot people with the Duracell batteries wouldn’t be murder since they can just be powered back up with new ones.
It's not that he's meant to be seen as black, it's that the face really does resemble the black face advertisements for minstrel shows from way back when. I seriously doubt they actually intended to make it look like blackface, it's an unfortunate coincidence that it does. It's still a really off-putting commercial, though.

I think it's that the family is laughing at the dude putting her in an involuntary coma. That, and the uncanniness of their faces being humanesque but failing to present any sense of real emotion.
Like if you saw any of them in your hallway at night, would you not be absolutely terrified, more so than seeing just a normal dude. You might argue no, but I think if any of them were standing in the hall and the nightlight only reveals that huge unnerving smile you would have a whole case of the nopes. I'm aware they weren't in a dark hall in the commercial, but it's people's imagination that can run wild with the characters allowing more fear of said characters than you might initially see in them.
For real it seems like in this doll world taking someone's battery out isn't too big of a deal. Obviously if they're doll people there are certain things that wouldn't be a big deal for them or seen as a problem in their society. I didn't sense any sinister intentions just perhaps people reading into it a bit too much

That reminds me of that one Superbowl commercial with the robot child, with their dad going, "The world's not ready for you." I think about that commercial randomly and I kinda wanna look it up.

Being a kid of the late 80s/early 90s, I remember every single one of these. Those vintage Apple commercials were based off of George Orwell’s novel 1984. I’ve always loved that aesthetic tbh

But I remember we'd sit there and laugh at the damn commercial. It wasn't scary, just really weird. 4:42 OMG Helloimapizza! Ugh I miss their videos. I hope they come back soon!

Actually the battery part you can also changed it, like they can just change batteries for the grandma and she can come back on again, they can’t die lol
15:13 Nah man, the point of the commercial is that the ordinary ol furniture in their house is so boring, but Ikea's is fun, clever and exciting. It's actually a pretty clever commercial, a bit too dark, but still effective. 6:41 Since I'm already writing, I have to also say that the point of this commercial is that if you don't actively support those who save animals, is almost as bad as you are hurting them youself.
Funny how you bring up the Yoshi's Island commercial. Interestingly, you brought that up, but I ended up finding the Nintendo You Cannot Beat Us commercial from 1987 to be a bit more cursed. Well, not anymore after it resurfaced last year.
I’m the Tidy Up & Bored to Death commercial, you can see a Thomas Wooden Railway Henry. (presumably from the 2000’s) You could also catch a glimpse of what seems to be a 90’s Percy. 12:23
It's funny that you mentioned the lynx chocolate man ad cause I remember back in 2008 when it was my 8th birthday I received a lynx from my dad as a joke and then after going to watch TV I remember that exact ad came on seeing it I remeber running out the room I'm 24 now but seeing that I remeber being scared sh*tless
Something to point out is, who would go to ikea after seeing their husband die? No woman/man mourning from their loved ones death decides to go to ikea. And ikea isn’t even a fun place in the first place. You go to ikea to build furniture, not go and have a party with your friends, have a beer, and mash one out!
The RSPCA one is cribbing the idea from a 1973 issue of National Lampoon magazine. The cover had a gun held to a dog saying 'Buy this magazine or we'll kill this dog'. Before they went more into movies, National Lampoon was a mature audiences edgy comedy magazine.
For the Duracell one, it seems like they are just supposed to be robots with replaceable batteries. They essentially go to sleep until they have their batteries replaced.
that jumpscare comercial is my roman empire. i remember it coming on as a kid and whenever there was a bump on AS i would hide my eyes so i couldn't see it just in case.
I remember the Axe commercial, it also aired in France. The thing is, with the Ikea one and the child the text is in English, if it had aired only just in France you should have found it with a text in French. I guessed correctly it was about Ikea and I understood the message about tidying your stuff. The Smurfs one, I remember hearing about it when I was younger.

Just imagine youre watching Adventure Time and all of a sudden, ‘AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!’
I remember the Duracell battery commercials. They were goofy, but made their point.
They didn't kill their aunt in the battery commercial. Robots shut down. You just replace their batteries and they start again.
And she wasn't their aunt, she was a neighbor I believe
The "The Dawn Is Your Enemy" bumper doesn't scare me, either.
It just makes me feel nostalgic.
😊
Those pop corners are Delicious
I distinctly remember the Durecell commercial growing up! Always creeped me out!
8:05 that's literally the equivalent to replacing someone's heart with a less efficient one
The Smurf one reminds of South Park Imagination Land in that one episode o 💀💀💀💀💀💀
I thought that the lemmings ad was Disney since the song they were whistling is the snow white dwarf march song. Lol
The Heart She Holler one actually did the opposite of what it intended, I couldn't sleep for a week
Fun fact: Macintosh is a variety of apple, like the actual fruit that you eat.
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
We love you morbid appreciate you fr keep grinding we UA-cam babies🫶🏼
Funny how you bring up the Yoshi's Island commercial. Interestingly, you brought that up, but I ended up finding the Nintendo You Cannot Beat Us commercial from 1987 to be a bit more cursed. Well, not anymore after it resurfaced last year.
15:50 nah, how did The Joker end up in a Japanese Commercial?💀
I’m the Tidy Up & Bored to Death commercial, you can see a Thomas Wooden Railway Henry. (presumably from the 2000’s) You could also catch a glimpse of what seems to be a 90’s Percy. 12:23
It's funny that you mentioned the lynx chocolate man ad cause I remember back in 2008 when it was my 8th birthday I received a lynx from my dad as a joke and then after going to watch TV I remember that exact ad came on seeing it I remeber running out the room I'm 24 now but seeing that I remeber being scared sh*tless
Why is no one talking about the Nicorette cigarette man commercial
The dog one is saying that if you don't donate, animals will be shot. Not a threat to that dog. A warning to people who care about animals
was just crying but morbidforfun posted today so #real
I did not think that the frickin creators of the world's most recognizable video game character would make such a disturbing commercial
0:52 “kinda like me fr” 💀💀💀
Who else is watching this trying to fall asleep? 😅
You're Not The Only One Catra
For the Duracell one, it seems like they are just supposed to be robots with replaceable batteries. They essentially go to sleep until they have their batteries replaced.
Another banger from you
that jumpscare comercial is my roman empire. i remember it coming on as a kid and whenever there was a bump on AS i would hide my eyes so i couldn't see it just in case.
On a cruise I met the woman who created the costumes for the duricel family
THE CIG COMMERCIAL WAS FUNNY ASF😭😭
I remember the Axe commercial, it also aired in France. The thing is, with the Ikea one and the child the text is in English, if it had aired only just in France you should have found it with a text in French. I guessed correctly it was about Ikea and I understood the message about tidying your stuff. The Smurfs one, I remember hearing about it when I was younger.
