    So you have had this fab look helmet for a couple of months now and I am interested to hear how you are getting on with it. Im thinking of getting either another Arai Tour 4 or an AGV AX9 or this BMW beauty. Cheers in advance and oh yeah I have subscribed. Great review by the way

      Hi Shane. I agree, a review is due. Just can't get it done this before Jan as I have no time available. I even have to take a break from all of it to be with my Dad in Germany over the holidays as he's on is own. So my wife has to stay here in Britain to look after her Dad.
      Sorry for that mumble. Regarding the BMW Helmet. It is absolutely brilliant. Light enough, aerodynamic is great.
      Ventilation is excellent and simple and the most important thing for me is how the helmet performs in the rain.
      I never ever had to use my hand (glove) to wipe over the visor during rain. I don't know how they did it bit it just keeps clean and the water runs to the side.
      Maybe it my bike setup, but that hasn't changed and I had to clean my Shoe Helmet all the time. I can only recommend this helmet. Try one on and find out yourself.
      Hope this helps. Have a great Christmas and ride safe. Stephan

      MOTOTravel UK Thanks for the prompt reply Stephan, what a shame you both have to be with your Dads but hey it sounds like you are both doing the right thing. I am very tempted to try one. They seem to be pretty much sold out everywhere apart from eBay which I am not a fan of. The BMW dealership have them on at £425 to £475 depending on paint job which seems good compared to my Shoei and to my old Arai. Hope you and your family’s have a good Christmas and I look forward to seeing more of your videos soon. 👍🏻

    I purchased this helmet also, and find it cheap quality, brittle plastic parts that snap off very easily, I also find it very uncomfortable but that could be my head shape it puts alot of pressure to the front of my head. Can't beat an Arai or Shoei for quality and comfort.

    • @MOTOTravelUK
      @MOTOTravelUK  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment.
      I absolutely believe what you are saying.
      You just got the wrong head for this helmet. I had the same issue once with an O'Neil lid. It all seemed such a great idea.
      What is great for me is not necessarily good for you.
      I do have a shoei flip open helmet. Great and very comfortable. But I look like a chipmunk 🐿 in it.
      Brittle plastic well I need to challenge that. Never head any issue. It is light I give you that.
      Having an opinion is a good thing , but it has to be balanced.
      If so much is wrong, why did you buy it and even more importantly why not gave it back.
      Ride safe mate. And thank you again taking your time to comment.

      @@MOTOTravelUK Thank you for the reply, I purchased because it looks fantastic and on paper is a great helmet, I purchased online a few months ago but have only been wearing it last two weeks but will return, there is a plastic strip under the back of the helmet it is made of very brittle plastic, the tabs that hold it on snap very easily, first time it snapped having the comms system installed, second time when putting it down on top of a metal locker. I just feel it does not come near the quality of an Arai or Shoei hence the return, if anyone was to purchase I would advise trying it on at the dealership, on another note the comms system is not great either, fantastic design, great sound in the helmet but when making phone calls very poor sound I have this returned also under warranty. Just hope my comment is helpful to anyone considering to purchase this helmet.

  • @pacibaco
    @pacibaco 3 роки тому

    I’d really struggle to shelf my Arai having had zero negative issues with it . It’s a full face Signet model chosen because my gourd is “ long oval “ but the manufacturing of the Arai line is excellent. But , a lighter carbon version of anything will catch my attention.

    • @MOTOTravelUK
      @MOTOTravelUK  3 роки тому

      Hei Rick, If you are happy with your Helmet why change it? I do have a Shoei and still love it when open, but the BMW helmet just gives me much more room in front of my face. I like that. The weight is not so important and was not what made me buy. It was the fit. But, and this is a big but. What is right for me is not necessarily right for you.
      If you are happy with your Arai stick with it. Use the money for a nice trip.
      Cheers Steph

      I have my Scala G4 clamped to mine, it's a little tight getting in between the outside layer and the inside layer, just have some patience, it works. Love mine, great helmet. Have the tinted blue visor ( Canada ) and love it. I keep the visor mostly down but would love it if they had more adjustment levels when the visor opens. Just a smidge open from totally closed would be great instead of the large gap at the first level to allow a little air flow yet keep the Kamikaze bugs out of my face, if you know what I mean?

    • @MOTOTravelUK
      @MOTOTravelUK  4 роки тому

      @@jaroslavmandik2554 ventilation is excellent buy when you close the visor it is warm in cold weather. The helmet performed in any weather and climate. Check out my video from my Scotland trip. I was riding in torrential rain and I didn't have to clean my visor ones with my gloves.

    • @MOTOTravelUK
      @MOTOTravelUK  5 років тому

      @@sylwestertrybala7917 I would say on par. It's all about the buffeting as I mentioned. I actually felt more comfortable than the Shoei as you have a little more room around your ears. I don't use Earplugs in my Shoei as I have an intercom. I did plenty of Motorway riding on my last trip and I can't complain. I ride the Shoei flipped open most of the time just to feel less claustrophobic.

    hi buddy from south Africa. I am currently using a shoei neotec 2, with the cardo packtalk bold. I am considering this helmet to compliment my GS 1250. My concern is the comms unit. Hi there, thanks for dropping by. I don't use the BMW coms unit I'm still having my old Scalarider Q1. Still doing the Job. I have some friends who use the BMW gear and are happy with it. But be honest I don't feel the need to upgrade as I ride mostly alone and don't even switch it on. If you are going BMW I'd may consider it.
      Some advice about volume. Most coms are loud enough to start with. 99% of the time the speaker is in the wrong place. Our heads are so different that it is highly impossible to hit the best sweet spot straight away. My Neotec it was about 25mm of the manufacture position. It went from" can't hear a thing - to blowing my ears out"!
      Hope this helps. Ride safe!
