A humbling and amazing documentary. Present generations should take heed and learn.

There is the book written by Peter Williams and features my father Reg Hyde and my mother Jean who was a nurse at EG .The debt my father and other GP's owe to Mcindoe is total as he realised not only the physical but the mental injuries that the Gps had to endure -my fathers logbook just had stamped UNFIT FOR SERVICE .My Father was 21 when he was badly burnt in a wellington crash landing at OTU 17 Silverstone after a tour with 49 squadron

Amazing people. I have been in awe of McIndoe and his Guinea Pigs for as long as I can remember. When I was a patient at QVH having my hand saved in 2010 I saw Bill Foxley but didn’t get a chance to talk to him.

@@spacedmonkey1375 Hi Trust everything went ok. with your hand
its incredible that most the guinea pigs had their crashes /treatment circa 21st birthday and at that time the world was quite severe Unfit for service etc and its down to mcindoe that the physical and psychological issues were resolved even continuing after discharge from QVH .But that didn't stop Bill or any other GPs.Humble and never defeated but always remembering those colleagues who died in the conflict

@@peterhyde2178 it always astounds me how they were just boys. My hand was beautifully put back together. When I was there the next bay had two soldiers recently back from Afghanistan who had lost limbs. Bill was there to see them. The time he gave them was fantastic. The whole of McIndoe’s approach still thrives at QVH. They never let you wallow, they get you up and going.
