Currently on Holiday in austria. Started my Bone Spirit to melt tournment bosses and farm mystics. Then i start source with Lightning and just before season 6 comes maybe andriel barrage
tried ww barb, lightning spear sorc, doom storm druid, and now I’m trying rogue out, didn’t like rapid fire ( I hate combo points I learned ) gonna switch to either Andy barrage or heartseeker next!
Hey man just as like a pointer, this build does have 100% crit, the boots scale with movement conjurations give movement speed as well as put one point into the crackling energy gains movement speed. Just pointing thst out
You are correct and incorrect at the same time. The boots, as Wudi mentions, give 40% crit, either by evading or due to conjuration stacks. Its does NOT get higher than 40% as movement speed is capped at 200. The build still has 100% crit as Lightning spear itself has an inherit +15% crit chance in the skill.
When is the maxroll tier list getting updated? It still lists lightning spear as basicalyl being next to fireball and some other builds, which I don't think is true
This is why you shouldn’t use maxroll “tier list“ until they get more people helping. A week before a season they spend time guessing. Then they don’t update anything because they are all busy playing
Not sure how it compares with top end gear, but I am running frozen orb setup with meh gear, and I found that dropping Unstable currents, which didn't do hardly anything for me, and putting Ice blades on my skill bar freed up 3 skill points, and was much more effective. Gave me more active conjurations, and the extra ice blades summons makes everything else cooldown faster
I’m using 1h version, the extra cooldown from the focus lets me achieve permanent lightning spear cast without having to use orb. Instead of an extra aspect I’m using fist of fate, the extra lucky hit crit rate and attack speed makes the entire build run super smoothly.
@@TheAmbigatus yeah it’s a trade off. I get 10-15 more stacks of conjuration mastery on average using a 1 hander, and my crit rate is maxed and I have 100% uptime on unstable currents. More of a smoother game play loop. Can just hold down right mouse with lightning spear which saves my hands. It now plays identical to Andy barrage rogue, where I have barrage on right mouse button too.
You do get 100% crit chance for your lightning spears when you add in the 15% crit chance from enhanced lightning spear though. Sure, this crit chance does not apply to the damage of splintering energy aspect, but at least you can trigger the damage with 100% crit chance.
Obviously with the boots. I was referring to the part at 8:30 where wudijo said that the splintering energy aspect will only deal damage when you crit, and that it's not possible to get 100% crit chance with the frozen orb variant with the winterglass variant even with the boots. Here wudijo didn't account the 15% from enhanced lightning spear, with which you do get 100% crit chance for your lightning spears, thus activating splintering energy on every hit. Btw. you don't need to dash with Esu to get the benefit since you will have maxed movement speed already from the Conjuration Mastery passive.
I heard that int doesn't scale the LS aspect damage. If that's true, couldn't you get more damage from having roll off int on gear? As long as you meet paragon requirements...
Different versions that dont require Mythic. Is extremly helpful, I have Very bad luck . And cannot do Torment Boss. Never gotten a Mythic of any kind for any class
I have a 100 lightening spear sorc and 100 rogue. What uber item should I craft first with 4 sparks? Tyrials Might? I don't have any ubers yet for them.
I have tried several variations of this spec and i am wondering on this: the build has awesome AOE, standard gear without too many mods can clear 110 pit mobs. But boss (single target elite) damage is trash. I can clear all mobs in 110 pit in under 3 minutes then enter boss fight and just die or take over 30 minutes to down it. What can be done to balance this spec towards single target damage? Or is it exclusively an AOE setup and thats it? Or is required that when one reaches this level to spend billions of gold and hours of detailed respeccing just to be able to down a single elite or boss over 99 pit level? Any ideas?
same situation, i think the cannon skill low is the problem. Yes Tyreal give you immortality, but with a +7\\8 armor on cannon you have nearly no problem.

@@LuNeCxX if you are good about using your cooldowns with this build you can save unstoppable for an oh shit button and that's about the only time you need it. I've found the constant spamming of lightning spear gives me infinite shield that I don't die so unstoppable is more of an oh shit not really to get me out of stun
Tyraels works so well because it gives the dr, max resist, but also move speed as well which translates into crit rate. Just try to get the masterworks to land some combination of dr or max resist.
Man, I redid my amulet masterwork yesterday to triple hit conjuration mastery, and I ended up making the build function worse compared to when I had 2x conjuration cd and 1x mastery. Wasted all that neath and gold for nothing 😢
Doing my best. I can solo the uber bosses. But ive ran so man without a mythic drop. Still cant beat uber lolith. I can get her to death percent. But ineventually die during her final attacks
I ended up using 1h and focus to allow more flexibility on cdr. You lose some damage but you can get 60% cdr with only 2 masterwork crits on cdr , and you have room for another aspect like shredding blades or conceited to help you make back some dps loss. Ga focus with crit rate or cdr are very cheap. 100-300m. I’ve also been using fist of fates, it gives so much lucky hit that your lightning spears will basically always cast orbs, and you completely drop orbs from the bar. I just hold down lightning spear and it has 0 cooldown, I don’t even see a number on it anymore as long as there are 20 conjurations up. Sorry for the long winded reply. I guess my point is, try to do the best with the gear you have. In my case, I made it work going with a 1 hander. My goal was to stop using frozen orb completely lol.
I'd say conj mastery when you get the Fractured Winterglass rolled high enough, frozen orb makes lightning spear come off cool down so fast, plus you eventually get Shako for 20% CDR aswell Use Fists of Fate too for raw damage over the Storm swell apsect
Mostly for cooldown reduction. When you have fractured winterglass on your frozen orbs can reduce the cooldown of your conjurations. And lightning spears can also throw frozen orbs with the amulet
Between Shake and Tyrel’s, if you’re not a fortunate person to get one to drop normally, would it be recommended to craft one over the other when able, or wait til one drops and then craft the other?

@@TheMonoxide27 maxroll endgame guide, only really optimized gear was my gloves and staff, gloves were 6 percent loss and staff was max roll at 90. Have since gotten a 0 percent loss roll and a tyraels, it does pretty good still trying to find a better amulet and a better tal Rashas ring but it killed Lilith on my maybe 4th try
Guys.. he is playing hardcore. So this build is not optimal for pushing high pit and maks damage etc. Don't use this if you're not on hc. Raiment chest, tibaults pants, fists of fate for farming. Then there is another very high pit build that mekuna used for his 150 pit. I like wudi, bit reading the comments, alot of his viewers are a bit clueless.
I have all the required uniques(.3 winterglass), all masterworks to rank 4 on recommended stats, and my build feels like ass even just doing rank 5 hoardes. Frozen orb is my damage dealer.

Controller. Really. You assign Frozen Orb and Lighting Spear to X and A, and just hold them. It keep casting Frozen Orb, and when Lightning Spear is off cooldown it immediately cast it. I don't have controller for my PC, that's why I prefer playing this build on my Steam Deck.
Hold down your key rather than slamming them. On a controller you can hold down R1 and R2 for Lightning Spear and unstable currents and then just tap your cooldowns as needed. On keyboard I was only able to hold down one skill and have it trigger.
If you're struggling. Try changing the setting in accessibility (I could be wrong about where it's located in settings) that says something about how your skills activate. You have the option to click and hold (default) or click to toggle the skill on or off. Much easier to just click it once and it'll do it by itself
I am so confused with 4-5 different "The BEST Builds" of Lightning Spear , some builds have 2h some 1h weapon, some includes frozen orb, the others have ice blades enchant, can someone explain me what is what for ? Which one should I go with ?
2h or nothing, ice blade enchant is a very late game optimisation (shako triple CDR, ring triple CDR less than 6 s cooldown on LS) you don't need frozen orbs enchant if u have this opti
I swapped flame shield for ice blades and my cool down on lightning spear went way way down. I cast ice blades then lightning spear and one frozen orb and lightning spears ready again already
Also maxroll needs updated on the lists, because mobalytics is killing you on builds and lists. I do enjoy comparing info between the sites on builds though
The armor might be fixed with good mw, but I had to drop Tibaults because I needed the armor cap, still easily clearing t6 Hordes, haven’t tried a 7 yet.

Both of those previous replies are completely wrong. Each individuals build is gonna power scale differently depending on your gear and stats. But at some point crit damage will not do as much as adding additive damage stats. This number is unknown, but can be found out to each particular setup by doing a little math. But just stacking one multiplicative damage boost will eventually lose it potency due to how damage buckets work together. I believe last season vulnerable damage would eventually add less damage than an additive stat once you had x amount. I think once you hit around 2k vulnerable damage actually adding an additive was better. This will vary from person to person. Wudi and Lucky Luciano made a video about this.

Vulnerable damage is not important for this *specific* build on which this video is focusing, hence my reply was correct: You'll want to stack crit damage for this build. Look at any build planner for lightning spear sorc and try to spot a single item or temper which shows vulnerable damage as the optimal choice - you won't find one, because it's less useful than crit damage for the way this spec scales. If you were talking about general D4 terms, then yes, various other builds do value vulnerable damage over crit until a certain breakpoint is reached. For example, heartseeker rogue stacked vulnerable damage last season, because that scaled off of the Victimise key passive.

I'm playing Fireball Sorc atm and I use Lightning Spear as an activator and I have almost no aspects or anything that buffs Lightning Spear and yet it's doing almost as much damage as Fireball (with both FB uniques). I'm pretty sure Lightning Spear is bugged or something, if it's nearly able to kill packs of monsters before I even aim a single Fireball at them.
I am a level 80 right now doing this build without the winterglass and I am tearing shit up, can't wait until I get to 100 and get my glyphs up with the winterglass to see what it can really do.

Dont say it works well and showcasing a 200h rmt build. Ppl dont have cd shako with 4 masterworks as well as ring. Just showcase without stars and 4 masterworks. We dont play 24/7 and have viewers that help summon.
You can play this build without mythics and it still does an insane DMG. It's not a leveling build. You just need to be lvl 100 before you switch to it. There are plenty of guides besides the maxroll one that covers non-mythics version of the build.
Man, this season is the easiest ever... I'm a 33-year-old new father with a 4-month-old that I spend a lot of time with, and I still have a ga tyraels might and a double masterworked Shako. It's not hard, stop crying. Put in a little bit of time and you'll see
I played 50h solo and got 1 tyraels solo. Yesterday I got a shaco from just 3 group runs. It allready worked well before, but the shaco makes it next level. Even have 2 masterworking on the CDR and only had to reroll once.. This build is not a starter build indeed, but it is obtainable for sure. I can easily clear T7 now and can complete masterworking now. This build kicks ass and if you have the necklace and some cdr and mana per second rolls you can start building it. Raxx has a nice guide on it too with steps on how to progress through the builds.
Just for note, you'll get more damage removing tal rasha for starless, do not remove the legend ring. Also going 1 handed and adding damage with barrier is roughly the same damage output but quicker
To add to what others have said, the movement speed when evading will have 100% uptime so you'll be able to get 40% even without conjuration mastery rolling.
I have a Shako, my winterglass is laughable. I've yet to find a half-descent FoFate so instead, I've opted for gloves with crit dam. I'm north of 1800% crit damage. I would say my boss damage isn't terrible by any means. T-duriel under 10-sec (unless I miss it and he burrows). T-grigore/zir/varshan under 5-sec. Blood maidens under 2-sec. T8 council clear in about a minute. 🤷♀ I've got a lot of room to min/max still. I can use a much better staff, better winterglass, find a usable FoFate, better Esu's heirloom. Better rings. Seems like I've still got quite a ways to go before I reach the ceiling on this. (which is fun, but also scary)
@@Tim_593 the standard CL is. Andariel's CL (which I haven't seen build guides for so I'm making one) is unkillable and is better single target DPS than LS, slightly worse in group boss and the same in mob clear
Nice you disabled damage numbers, Blizzard should just disable them all together. They mean nothing, just clutter the screen and have no in game purpose.
@@darkinsanity98473 nope. Numbers are so big they become irrelevant. Nobody cares if your skills do 80 billion or 100 billion damage, numbers do mean anything. Health bar is your only proper visual feedback of your damage and how your power grows.

@@kaishibruv yeah the damage loss doesn’t make a difference in t8 horde, but for pit pushing I can see it being an issue.

Have you tried with fist of fate gloves instead? You get a lot of Lucky hit and good stats. Rob have them in his guide 😊
You need to be especially lucky to get a well rolled one though.
Why not stick three points to get +Greater Chain Lightning, particularly when you achieve perfect uptime with Unstable currents?

I reverted somewhat to a hybrid Orb + LS to help with bossing, but wasn't pushing pit so dunno about that specifically

From what I've been hearing from others tyrael chest is good swap. Pretty much every build I've seen on this uses it when they get one

Yeah Tyreals trumps almost everything unless you have a build defining aspect that could only be on your chest.

Why doesnt druid have the ability to simultaneously use more elixirs like 3 at the same time or something
I reset my shako around 25 times and I’m stuck with only a double crit on cdr
I spent around 16k neathiron to get it

There are only 3 elements that sorc can access. It was meant to be 4 originally but it isn't so 3 stacks is maxed

Northwar has never made good guides. Go look at Meta sorcs like mekuna.

Shako by far. I had Tyreals drop first and by far Shako made a bigger difference. Hard to get enough CDR otherwise.

I have all the required uniques(.3 winterglass), all masterworks to rank 4 on recommended stats, and my build feels like ass even just doing rank 5 hoardes. Frozen orb is my damage dealer.

R for Lightning Spear, Right click for Orb, left click for Ult, Side mouse buttons for both shields, E for Teleport
Controller. Really. You assign Frozen Orb and Lighting Spear to X and A, and just hold them. It keep casting Frozen Orb, and when Lightning Spear is off cooldown it immediately cast it. I don't have controller for my PC, that's why I prefer playing this build on my Steam Deck.
1 and 2 on keyboard. 1 for lightning spear and 2 for frozen orb. Rest are easy enough. Flame shield on right click and ult on left click.
Hold down your key rather than slamming them. On a controller you can hold down R1 and R2 for Lightning Spear and unstable currents and then just tap your cooldowns as needed. On keyboard I was only able to hold down one skill and have it trigger.
If you're struggling. Try changing the setting in accessibility (I could be wrong about where it's located in settings) that says something about how your skills activate. You have the option to click and hold (default) or click to toggle the skill on or off. Much easier to just click it once and it'll do it by itself

I am so confused with 4-5 different "The BEST Builds" of Lightning Spear , some builds have 2h some 1h weapon, some includes frozen orb, the others have ice blades enchant, can someone explain me what is what for ? Which one should I go with ?
2h or nothing, ice blade enchant is a very late game optimisation (shako triple CDR, ring triple CDR less than 6 s cooldown on LS) you don't need frozen orbs enchant if u have this opti
I swapped flame shield for ice blades and my cool down on lightning spear went way way down. I cast ice blades then lightning spear and one frozen orb and lightning spears ready again already
Also maxroll needs updated on the lists, because mobalytics is killing you on builds and lists. I do enjoy comparing info between the sites on builds though

@wudijo how do you get capped armor in this setup? I have everything except a shaco, but my armor isn’t capped.( including the skulls)
The armor might be fixed with good mw, but I had to drop Tibaults because I needed the armor cap, still easily clearing t6 Hordes, haven’t tried a 7 yet.
Shako gives 3500 armor which is enough to reach the cap, especially when masterworked

without shako you need an armor roll on an armor piece and MW it up to 12/12.
What is the minimum cooldown reduction total?
Enough that your lightning spear tooltip reads 8 second cooldown or less according to the maxroll guide

Stacking crit damage is better because it scales with your crit chance, although some vulnerable damage doesn’t hurt at all
Both of those previous replies are completely wrong. Each individuals build is gonna power scale differently depending on your gear and stats. But at some point crit damage will not do as much as adding additive damage stats. This number is unknown, but can be found out to each particular setup by doing a little math. But just stacking one multiplicative damage boost will eventually lose it potency due to how damage buckets work together.
I believe last season vulnerable damage would eventually add less damage than an additive stat once you had x amount. I think once you hit around 2k vulnerable damage actually adding an additive was better. This will vary from person to person. Wudi and Lucky Luciano made a video about this.

Vulnerable damage is not important for this *specific* build on which this video is focusing, hence my reply was correct: You'll want to stack crit damage for this build. Look at any build planner for lightning spear sorc and try to spot a single item or temper which shows vulnerable damage as the optimal choice - you won't find one, because it's less useful than crit damage for the way this spec scales.
If you were talking about general D4 terms, then yes, various other builds do value vulnerable damage over crit until a certain breakpoint is reached. For example, heartseeker rogue stacked vulnerable damage last season, because that scaled off of the Victimise key passive.

And, you didn't read what wrote or understand or else you wouldn't of replied as such, literally restating the fact that it was generalized. Did i anywhere stat or say lightning spear, no. My statements were quite general and non-specific to class or build. I literally was talking about damage stats and how they dropoff, much has to do with your buckets. Why not read before dismissing and refuting everything I said?

I'm playing Fireball Sorc atm and I use Lightning Spear as an activator and I have almost no aspects or anything that buffs Lightning Spear and yet it's doing almost as much damage as Fireball (with both FB uniques). I'm pretty sure Lightning Spear is bugged or something, if it's nearly able to kill packs of monsters before I even aim a single Fireball at them.
I am a level 80 right now doing this build without the winterglass and I am tearing shit up, can't wait until I get to 100 and get my glyphs up with the winterglass to see what it can really do.

Dont say it works well and showcasing a 200h rmt build. Ppl dont have cd shako with 4 masterworks as well as ring. Just showcase without stars and 4 masterworks. We dont play 24/7 and have viewers that help summon.
You can play this build without mythics and it still does an insane DMG. It's not a leveling build. You just need to be lvl 100 before you switch to it. There are plenty of guides besides the maxroll one that covers non-mythics version of the build.
Man, this season is the easiest ever... I'm a 33-year-old new father with a 4-month-old that I spend a lot of time with, and I still have a ga tyraels might and a double masterworked Shako. It's not hard, stop crying. Put in a little bit of time and you'll see
I played 50h solo and got 1 tyraels solo. Yesterday I got a shaco from just 3 group runs. It allready worked well before, but the shaco makes it next level. Even have 2 masterworking on the CDR and only had to reroll once..
This build is not a starter build indeed, but it is obtainable for sure.
I can easily clear T7 now and can complete masterworking now.
This build kicks ass and if you have the necklace and some cdr and mana per second rolls you can start building it.
Raxx has a nice guide on it too with steps on how to progress through the builds.
if you actually see the video it has different sections of the build. starter/leveling/endgame. You don't need mythics to play it nor 4* mw
My friend uses this build and doesn’t have a single mythic, and no masterworks yet. It clears Tier5 and Tier6 easy. We play 1-2 hours a day.

Just for note, you'll get more damage removing tal rasha for starless, do not remove the legend ring. Also going 1 handed and adding damage with barrier is roughly the same damage output but quicker

8:57 The boots give 40% of your movementspeed bonus as crit chance. So in this case they add ~10% crit chance. Still a great video!
It’s flat 40% crit chance in combat. Conjuration mastery gives this build 100% bonus speed in combat. 100% bonus speed = 40% crit. Only 10% crit in city.

To add to what others have said, the movement speed when evading will have 100% uptime so you'll be able to get 40% even without conjuration mastery rolling.

My winterglass is shit and i don't have a shako. Beware you will kill everything but your boss damage will be shit.
I have a Shako, my winterglass is laughable. I've yet to find a half-descent FoFate so instead, I've opted for gloves with crit dam. I'm north of 1800% crit damage. I would say my boss damage isn't terrible by any means. T-duriel under 10-sec (unless I miss it and he burrows). T-grigore/zir/varshan under 5-sec. Blood maidens under 2-sec. T8 council clear in about a minute. 🤷♀
I've got a lot of room to min/max still. I can use a much better staff, better winterglass, find a usable FoFate, better Esu's heirloom. Better rings. Seems like I've still got quite a ways to go before I reach the ceiling on this. (which is fun, but also scary)

Don't use nortwar. Mekuna has the best builds. Rob has good items/other items, with mekunas skill and mastery board.

My Andariel's CL Sorc is performing at the same level, without any resource issue and it can't be killed.
CL does way less damage and is more squishy, I switched to Lightning Spear and its way better
@@Tim_593 the standard CL is. Andariel's CL (which I haven't seen build guides for so I'm making one) is unkillable and is better single target DPS than LS, slightly worse in group boss and the same in mob clear
