Very informative! Just hearing this call is a great way to feel more comfortable with clients on the line. Thanks. Subbed and going to the other video.
I am currently working in construction and am slowly trying to build up my web development skills and move into freelance. Its without a doubt in my mind its a far better value for owners of these kind of companies to have someone manage the site for a fixed price of a couple hundred dollars a month rather than trying to do it themselves. They are constantly distracted by phone calls and meetings and all the other factors of running a business , why add managing the content of their website to the list of tasks? In the end it would only lead them to either neglect adding content or do so In a hurried way. Having it done by a professional will guarantee CONSISTENT quality which is key to a good website and company image.
@@bez1196 i was working in construction last year aswell, i hope to hear some positive news from this user aswell, hope he is doing well now and also you :)
Could you do a video or a little series where you go from a lead contacting you first time to actually reaching the sale so that we can see every step of the process? Great video ❤
Thank you, FWS. I would love to see more on how to price websites. I would like to be designing $5k - $10k websites and I don't really know what clients are going to expect for that price.
Ive always thought its dangerous to let the customer dictate price before youve offered value. This is a warm lead so slightly different but if someone was to quote $500 it then becomes a battle for you to convince them to get to the $4000 which is yiur standard pricing. You also get the hagglers that want to slightly low ball you. Ive always found its better to provide value and give them a region of how much what they are looking for usually costs and then ask them what their budget is further into the conversation. Plant the seed and then question later down the line so their answer is influenced by said seed.
"Well, you'll definitely need a 100% Flash site, which should play loud metal music right when it loads, because that's really going to motivate your site visitors. How does, say, half a million sound to you? Does that fit within your budget? Half a mil? ... Ok great! We'll get right on that!"
This guy is literally a dream client. He already was a warm lead and understands he will get for what hes willing to pay for. You didn't even have to sell him.
Hey, check out this video (and my other recent videos) for how I line up these sales calls in advance. It starts "cold" but by the time I get on the call I have already done some work to start the sale... ua-cam.com/video/C54mUbIrRm4/v-deo.html
Very nice job. I am a beginner and one thing I definitely have no idea is for example, what does a $3000, $7000 or $10000 website even look like? I am sure for all beginners what to charge and what is expected is unknown... Any advice on how we can get a better idea?? thank you.
Good question. A sites budget is related to the amount of resources needed to get the (hopefully) desired result. So there could be a very large budget but the site could be really simple design BUT one that is highly effective. So when starting charge more based on the cost to you. This is fine as you learn. Pick an amount that covers your time and energy in making the site. As you get better though you start to charge on the value you add. It might only take you a short time to make but you know from experience they will get massive results so you charge based on the value. When you get to this point you will know it (because its based on past successful results).
Is there a reason why you wouldn’t do the entire site in Wordpress but just the portfolio? Seems like if you do the portfolio, might as well do the rest of it in Wordpress. No reason to design the template twice. ?
Thanks for all of the solid advice Rob! Quick question. What service do you use to send them an invoice where they can pay right from the email?Something like this would be a very valuable thing to have like you mentioned in your video, Thanks!

I guess the best promotion for us is cold calling. Do you guys have the same situation in USA? Do you have cold calling for promoting web agency services there?
Cold calling is good but the best way is through building relationships with good clients and getting referrals and warm leads. Check out the free guide I have.
Is the stuff you edited out the information required for you to know what price to bid?
No - just personal info of the client that there was no need to keep in.
why didn't you edit the classical music waiting time?
Maybe I like classical music.
What CMS/site builder do you use?
Most of the time just simple HTML templates that I edit and adjust.
What invoice service do you recommend as a beginner?
Freshbooks id pretty decent. Also Fiverr has a free invoicing system called AND CO.
Dubsado has a pretty comprehensive system with more than just invoicing.
where is your website? seems like you abandonned the web agency business, cant find a singlre past employee on linked in either!! plus the value of this video is zero, it is a frigging warm lead that got in touch with you,
Secondary Account thanks for watching
Jesus loves you.
Awesome
Why is HTML better than using themes.
If it is better depends on the job - sometimes HTML is right and other time it doesn't make any sense at all. Depends on the project and the client's needs.
In general, though HTML is really fast and very simple to set up - so when it is possible I like to use it.
I just bought one for 5 k
$7000 for a basic website i could write in 20 mins
what's his website url? tryna see if i'm able to develop 7k websites yet
Hey, I don't give out that info for sales calls like this - it isn't fair on the business and usually ends up with them getting a ton of emails/calls.
@@FoxWebSchool Oh right, true didn't think about that, thank you though 👍. If you don't mind me asking...Are you more of a template kinda guy or do you prefer coding from scratch?
@Den Well Ahhh! ... that makes sense. Thanks bro 👌👊
@Den Well Correct - thanks for posting.
Really? He didn’t need any convincing at all or anything explained to him. Nice.
Couldn't edit out the wait time music huh?
