Aaron! Looking like your skills are leveling up huge brother! Awesome coming along with you on these builds what an absolute treat. That kitchen knife is beautiful, be great prepping for with it.... Absolutely love the camp knife I bought from you last year, wonderful knife.
@@AaronJohnson1979 thank you, appreciate the well wishes very much. Yeah, be real nice for life to get back to the way it was. Too right about the immune system, people need to get outside, get dirty, be around animals.
Looks bloody good mate the music took me by surprise hehe looks really nice and thin. Your 52100 chinese cleaver is in near daily use and performs like a dang beast samme with the blade you made in 80crv2 and MagnaCut they are on every trip outdoors you make really good quality stuff my mate. Fun to see you improve on every blade you make too. Your sharpening skills have grown a loooot you may have surpassed me now even looks like it. So now your master level 😁😁😁
AS ALL OF YOU CAN SEE, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO MAKE A FIRST CLASS KNIFE IS NOT THE HEAT TREATMENT OR THE EDGE SHARPENESS, BUT TO SOAK THE BLADE IN BEER, A VERY DRUNK BLADE IS THE KEY. AND FOR THE KNIFE MAKER THE MOST IMPORTANT IS NOT THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HEAT TREATMENT OR SHARPENING SKILLS, BUT TO HAVE A LOT OF STINKY FARTS IN THE GUTS. GREAT KNIFE.
Holy Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, I should be sending my blades to you for Heat Treating. Your're set up is out of control gnarly. I've never even heard of Dry Ice/Kerosine...Damn, that "New Wave" Magnacut Techno-Chef makes me want to throw on some Oingo Boingo & fire up the forge. How the heck did it take me so long to find your footage?? 5 knives in 24 hours?? I think I made 5 all last year...No more Country Music or Billy, I better whip out some Kraftwerk & up my game...lol. I'm gonna sub up & learn a few things from you...God Bless You AJ!! 🖤🔪
Thank you for all the kind words, dry Ice is good but liquid nitrogen is better I just don’t have that set up yet. Far as making five knives in 24 hours, what helped me was making the same style same shape and size even drilling the same holes. That was the quickest way to become efficient is to stick with one design and one steel then you can blast them out then they turn out better. Sometimes making a simple knife without any bells and whistle‘s nothing special just make it clean and nice as you can.
Do you know where I can get my hands on a knife in magnacut? Especially one with excellent, excellent, excellent geometry. I'm really into chef knives, and I'm all for performance, and from everything I read magnacut has an excellent balance of the properties I want.
@@nathandaniel5451 Etsy might have some Custom makers that can produce a very thin and high HRC MAGNACUT chef knife that you want Etsy is probably the best place
Brother can I please buy even just a small edc fixed blade in magnacut from you? I don't care if you use scraps to make it and it's super small lol I just really want to test the steel
Hi again mate. Post some videoes on your channel of all your knives and stuff? Would be cool to see as you say you have tested a lot of different stuff 🙂
Hey Aaron I'm actually looking for the same thing as this fellow, a small fixed blade, 3" ish, in Magnacut. Maybe a kitchen knife too, especially after this video, dang old kitchen lazer you made there! Beautiful!...Would love to continue supporting you on your knife making journey by picking up more of your knives, if that works for you....Keep up all the awesome stuff your doing there in the shop, wonderful to live vicariously through your knife making journey.
Am a chef, and a knife nerd. Mostly Japanese blades in my kit from white 2 to R2. Soooo how much? really want to see magnacut as a new premium chef knife steel.
I might put a few up on Etsy but as of right now I have nothing for sale. That’s my first chef knife in MagnaCut really would like to just test and use it out to see how it does before thinking about selling any of them. But yes it’s definitely going to be a premium chef knife steel probably going to take over the market in my opinion
Hey man, I got a couple emails with small KB size attachments one is of the chef knife you made. Was that you that sent em' from your phone? I get quite a few spam emails since my address is public and just wanted to check before opening anything.

Great job, that came out nicely! I would imagine with that steel the edge will last quite a long time in between sharpenings.
