I thought some of the names seemed familiar but the mention of Boko Haram was what tipped me off. It's definitely rough around the edges and I'm not a fan of the gameplay style but at least it was made with actual desire.
My people in South Africa always act like they are superior to the rest of Africa. Lol, meanwhile, Nigeria made a game like this but South Africa is still on the level of making games that seems like mobile games from 2015 and I'm here laughing at my own people for their misplaced pride and arrogance 🤣🤣🤣
The game is set in Nigeria and talks about the Yoruba people and boko haram, so at least that is something interesting. I imagine the game is made by a nigerian indie team.
I wish they would give you options for your dodging.. like a single tap for a side step, and then the the long press for the couch roll.. I'm just thinking of how it could work on a controller, and it wouldn't really get in your way, the long press would be significantly shorter than the dark souls roll, and then the sidestep, would just be immediate and fast and not make you look like an idiot anytime you want to get out of the way of something.. Supposed it would also be nice if the modern controller standard would let you do basic tasks without sacrificing your camera control or your movement control.. But you know.. wishes were horses we'd have good games with good manual controls that didn't need to play for us. Credit where it's due the animation is super tight.. I have to plant myself to see if it's like dependent or something, it's always a bad sign when it is.. But I can kind of.. like it's hard to tell if it's just oboe not knowing what the controls are, or if it's got modern day advanced consolitus.. It definitely seems to have some unrealitis, but nowhere near as bad as usual.. and it's got some really killer art direction and lighting that can kind of smooth out some of those default motion blur settings and whatnot that should have been changed to be coherent in motion.. hint hint... Check find the boxes, change the settings, you have many options for camera blur and shutter.. you just have to configure them. Mm. Hint...
So the elder gun looks like the hyperblaster from quake.. does that mean that the elder gods are involved...? And should we read into that in any way given it is centered around West African African mythology? And the more you know ruins everything!
Some quick context to this game: the game was developed by 3 people in Lagos, Nigeria, with it's world design based on African Mythologies
With that context it's somewhat impressive, though I do think it needed more time to polish. Still, for free? Yeah, it's fine.
I got the African theme, but didn’t realise it was made by a native dev. Cool!

Hell yeah! Lagos Island represent!

I said above, I would be disappointed if they didn't give you a chance to fuck them up lol.. Don't tease me like that.
he's riddling he's riddling
I like a good narrative map. You don't just have a map, you have the of enlightenment.
for a lot of people around the world, the AK is technically the gun of thier elders, an Eldergun if you will
Oboes is 2/2 this week on being the gamer willing to play someone's ball-touching simulator
Outliver? I hardly know her!
Has any game developer thanked you for playing their game? I'm sure there has, and you do give these games a fair chance.
Really enjoying this recent shift in “Balls to the Walls” themed games oboe!
Oboe would have infinite content if he made videos on EPS free shovelware.
14:57 the lil statue holding up the 3 skulls looks like a lego figurine with extra long arms
the visuals on this game are pretty interesting, and some of the riddles were cute. overall design and player onboarding are definitely rough tho
I prefer my liver to be an inliver
Outliver? I hardly knew her

Can't wait to download Epic Store and get this game free of charge to play it on my gaming PC
You joke, but I got Guardians of the Galaxy for free on there and a few other decent titles.
Oboe taking the epic money now that bl4 won’t be timed exclusive
