I watched this interview when it was new. I had it recorded on a VHS tape and watched it over and over again in anticipation for Episode 3. The hype for this movie was huge. George talking about not worrying about what critics say and staying true to your vision made quite an impression on me. Blows my mind that this was nearly TWENTY years ago!

I too love the Behind-the-scenes videos! 😊 here’s my thoughts on Episode three, I feel like it was too rushed, in regards of Anakin turning into Vader. 2nd, is the excessive use of A Lot of green & blue screens for certain large shots & sequences. Even though I like Episode three, those are my two cents on it. Also, instead of the sequel trilogy that we’ve got, we should’ve had the Heir to the Empire trilogy as the sequel trilogy. Then after that we should’ve had Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future (Thrawn films) as a two parter, since they are two part books. That would’ve been a great idea. As for the Aftermath books, I’d consider those to be movies too, since it was right after Return of the Jedi. It’s obvious. But yah, the OG Thrawn trilogy as Episode 7-9 and then the two parter as the conclusion, I rather see that.

This reminds me of why I've always liked George Lucas : He has _his_ vision and is willing to fight for it; the critics be damned. According to reports (second hand), he really loved how original Kenobi were: apparently he was praising the originality in Story telling, and the visuals. Theory, thanks for unearthing this interview. I don't believe I ever saw this particular interview in full. This reminds me of why I've always liked George Lucas : He has _his_ vision and is willing to fight for it; the critics be damned. I hope Disney is forced to reorganize and sell off Star Wars to n entity that honors George's vision for his creation.

According to reports (second hand), he really loved how original Kenobi were: apparently he was praising the originality in Story telling, and the visuals.
Not sure if that means anything, if true, he probably just hated how unoriginal the sequels were that everything else was going to be an improvement🤷♀️
