It's a good job that 700 Almighty wasn't out imagine it getting stuck on that ship haha bit of water skiing there mate great vlog thanks for the entertainment marvellous
If you ever magnet fish from the locks you may find my mates bike that he chucked in just because he got a puncture 🤣.. Really enjoying your videos I came across them looking for fishing places in Warrington that I haven’t fished yet 👍🏻
Thank you again june , the finds where ok but I was hoping for more exciting stuff because of the age of the ship canal, ah well another time maybe lol. 😁👍👍👍
@@hoolihan71 Hey yeah wasn't bad for me thanks, quiet as I could get out to magnet fish myself waiting on hip op and can't keep balance or stand for long so enjoying watching everyone else. What about yourself ?? xx

ah i was interested to see what you'd find at the locks. the canal is dredged but not that often and not usually by the locks. i'm sure there are quite a few places where the edges will just be silted up. Just a case of whether the magnet can penetrate that far into the mud !
Alright John, yeh I'm going to try out a bit nearer the locks in the future to give it another chance to pay out lol, my new magnet will defo get through the silt/mud no worries its just the metal sidings I'm worried about as the 700kg won't come of them if they touch 🤣🤣🤣
You as well my friend we are all ok down South at the moment the weather has been pants! Rivers high and I do not want to dig as it is miserable in bad weather so wait for a while research and do my planning!
Thank you james 🙏, it was an ok place but was expecting a few more old items besides the nails, but never mind maybe another time, hope all is good with you and the family, take care james. 👌👍👍👍
@@hoolihan71 Oh dear think I replied to one of your messages-Anyway we are all good down South! Rivers are too high and too cold to dig so I must do some research instead of having fun!
Ayup Paul. ...so sorry Latchford locks wasn't very fruitful I didn't consider the dredging. ....those nails I think were for the sleepers of the railway on the canal bed used to carry the spoil away....used to have to cross the locks twice a day to get to school (johnnies) i want my ashes scattered there....i reckon the best place if you ever go back is behind the sluiuce gates...thanks for showing me my favourite place in the world!what's the tune? Theme from effin jobfinder or summat? Best wishes and take it eeeezy!
I've made it extra hard the tune on this one , I think nobody will get it this time lol, I will give it another try im the future don't worry, its just so deep I was shocked but saying that it has to be I suppose for them sea going ships. That spot i was at I go past every day so there's no excuse not to. Thanks again for the location it wasn't a complete wash out. 😁👌👍👍👍👍
@@hoolihan71 hi Paul only just seen about the floods in Warrington. ..hope you're ok As for the depth of the ship canal.its 26 foot deep in the middle! Best wishes and take it eeeezy!
@@jimmyviaductophilelawley5587 hi jimmy, yeh where I am in burtonwood its not too bad now, worst hit places was bewsey and longford they still are having trouble getting rid of the water from the sankey Brook which broke its banks . 😁👌👍👍👍
I used 30mtrs and still didn't reach more then 5mtrs away from the side of the manchester ship canal by the time it reached the bottom, i believe its almost 40-50 meters in the middle, only advice i can give is to just do around the edges as it has a shelf on both sides to find any goodies. 👍

I believe the large clumps of metal are part of the very old ship canal metal fencing.
Thanks for the info John, I didnt have a clue mate 🤣🤣🤣
