Travel and Tourism industry needs a lot of time and effort physically, but since its pandemic, we can adjust to the current situation by observing health protocols that was instructed by the government. We all know that tourism industry impacted severely because of pandemic, but we can also recover from this specially now that more cities or countries are slowly opening their borders for international flights and recovering from the pandemic.

Human interaction is restricted so it is a given that tourism will be in the dark for a few years and these small income T&T companies would not be able to keep up to the expenses of operating the company when customers are not available. I am already familiar with these examples and the reason why is that I would be able to have a heads up on planning to start my own business, and franchising is one of them. The advantage of franchising a business, as said in the video, is that it is a win-win solution to both the franchiser and the buyer. As the buyer, it is a big move to franchise a business wherein the brand of it is well-known to most people that's the why I wouldn't have any difficulties or problems in making profit.

It has 8 been months since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Many businesses have shut down or closed temporarily and the lost income could mean the end of the path. Traveling is at its most intense during this period. Flights are cancelled, jobs are laid off and the economy is decreasing. But for me, tourism industry, it may possible to survive during pandemic. But we should follow the new normal guidelines. And In developing successful and resilient tourist industry businesses, new strategies are needed. We will get used to it, even though the pace is slow and the business starts again. And when everything is okay, when everything gets back to normal. The business will expand again. In the middle of the crisis, almost everyone is in a state of survival. That only means your cash flow is uncertain and you need to make some difficult decisions in order to ensure that your business remains viable. The duration of the survival period depends on how the local government has responded to the virus. Travel restrictions are at their most severe meaning global travel & tourism is at standstill. As active cases start to drop, border restrictions will ease and small number of inquiries for future travel may begin to trickle in. I do believe after this pandemic passes, people around the world are going to be itching to travel and to return to normality as soon as they can. However, there's a lot of changes because of COVID-19 and travelers are going to to look towards industry professionals to help them navigate the changes. When international tourism does return, many people believe that it will surge. Travel & tour industry will boom again.

Surviving this pandemic is the primary objective of the people. With that, they have to ensure that their source of income should also survive in order for themselves to survive. In today’s situation, I think the travel and tour can survive the pandemic because everyone is coping up with the “new normal” setup. Tourists places are accepting tourists with the guide of health protocols. Same goes with the airlines, hotels, and private resorts which the travel and tour companies sell. It might take a long time to regain their losses and recover from the negative effects that this pandemic has brought to us but definitely they can survive.

To contain the virus, a travel ban was implemented which resulted to less consumers as tourists are also at risk with COVID-19 just around the corner. As times have passed, the Community Quarantine went from Enhanced to General lifting the ban of travelling. Now, with Leisure added as a reason to travel, people are now gradually wanting to go out of their homes after almost a year in lockdown. Human interaction is restricted so it is a given that tourism will be in the dark for a few years and these small income T&T companies would not be able to keep up to the expenses of operating the company when customers are not available. On the other hand, bigger and famous T&T companies are more likely to survive. When the pandemic started, every business including those that is inclined in tourism industry have closed their doors to the mass while some permanently shut down their services. At a later time, we slowly gave way for our economy to grow again. In regards with the lesson, I learned about the examples of business models and its significance to tourism industry. Since I do think that businesses rely to other business to operate. Brokerage as mentioned in the lesson talks about connection which is a vital aspect for a business to grow. Travel and tour companies struggle to survive during the pandemic because national and international flights are restricted. There is a possibility, but restoring normal operations will be difficult. Some well-known airlines, hotels, cruise lines, and restaurants chose to continue operations in the midst of the pandemic because if they ceased operations, even for a short amount of time, many people lose their jobs and their businesses would suffer. Small businesses struggle to survive in a pandemic because they lack the wealth and resources to invest in and implement safety measures. However, in order to do so, they must limit their manpower by firing some of their personnel and restricting their interaction with people.
Many countries around the world are still fighting the Pandemic, however certain businesses and industries are currently recovering and resuming normal operations and emerging from the tragedy. After this pandemic, I know that many people will go back to listing travel goals and traveling to different countries, but even just now that we are on Alert Level 1, I see that people are starting to travel again. But these people who travel seem to not have Travel Agents and Tour Operators, they simply book online, and that's it! There are a lot of sectors affected by the pandemic, but Tourism is one of those that took the greatest hits. If there are airlines who have no choice but to let go of their workers, what more of these travel and tour companies? I'm certain that a few of them closed already, and maybe some chose to stop their operations for a while because it would be very rare to have clients when there is a lockdown or simply just because people are afraid to travel since there's still a virus around. I think it depends on the company's owners if they want to continue their operations during the pandemic. But whatever choice they will make, one thing is for sure -- After this pandemic, the Tourism and Travel Industry will be a booming industry, and those who've fallen during the pandemic can choose to stand up and make it work again.

To answer your question, for me, the travel and tour companies WILL survive the Pandemic. As all industries do, survival is one of the main objectives of any bodies of service. In order for one body to continue its service, they must find a way to survive and continue. The travel industry is one of these bodies that are and will be able to strive as there are several factors such as clients and the need for travel. There are still clients who cant keep up with technology like the senior citizens, groups who do not want to deal with IT-inclined workload and also those who prefer to have somebody do all the nitty-gritty work, such as affluent people, busy persons, corporate leaders, and organization buyers because they do not want to waste money and precious time over something that tour operators can facilitate.
Because of this lesson, I finally understood the difference between a travel agent and a tour operator. Also, the business model that was explained in much more simpler terms for us to understand and I really appreciate that part like the differences between subscription model, franchise model, and brokerage model. With the question given at the end of the lecture, I think a travel and tour company can survive the pandemic because first of all, it already adapted with the internet leverage people have today. Meaning, it is already flexible even before the pandemic started and I think this is the advantage of the travel and tour company. We all became dependent through online transactions and this kind of set-up was not new to the existing companies for travel and tour. It was discussed in the lesson that there was dis-intermediation but there are still reasons as to why travel agents still exist. Yes, there was online transactions but it doesn't necessarily mean that the company won't be affected at all. Due to the travel restrictions implemented since lockdown the airlines, hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, small businesses, local communities and other travel related businesses experienced serious losses. Surviving this pandemic is the primary objective of the people. With that, they have to ensure that their source of income should also survive in order for themselves to survive. In today’s situation, I think the travel and tour can survive the pandemic because everyone is coping up with the “new normal” setup. Tourists places are accepting tourists with the guide of health protocols. Same goes with the airlines, hotels, and private resorts which the travel and tour companies sell. It might take a long time to regain their losses and recover from the negative effects that this pandemic has brought to us but definitely they can survive.

Travel and Tourism industry is one of all industries that has been devastated by the pandemic. This caused huge disruptions to businesses under this industry. Hotels, airlines, travel agencies, and other companies stopped operating since the corona outbreak and has caused massive job and revenue losses. Now to answer the question, I think travel and tour companies will likely to survive despite the crisis. This could be made possible with the assistance from the government. Restarting the travel and tourism industry could be complicated and lengthy but through financial assistance, recovery plans and programs would help these businesses to mitigate the impact of the pandemic. As what I've read from the website of Department of Tourism, they launched a loan program for tourism businesses, called CARES for TRAVEL, and urges MSMEs (Micro, small, and medium enterprises) to avail this program in order to help them sustain their businesses.

But today, they lowered the alert level to where everything is slowly becoming normal again. To be completely honest, I'm torn with Yes and No. It's possible but it's difficult to bring the normal operations back. Some known airlines, hotels, cruises, and restaurants chose to continue their operations in amidst of the Pandemic, this is because if they halt their businesses even just for a short period of time, many people will lose their jobs and their businesses will experience downfall. It will be difficult for Small Companies to survive but Big Companies can survive in pandemic since they have the resources and power to invest and conduct safety measures but in order to do so they have to limit their manpower by firing some of their employees and by limiting their exposures to people. Operating in amidst of a pandemic is hard because revenues will drop, the business operation is slow, the business development is abysmal, and the tourism sector will eventually collapse if many businesses chooses to close.

The problem with this is it's a slow process of refund due to the loads of request of refunds and because of the downsizing of airline companies. But there are still travel agencies who strongly believe that they can survive through the pandemic when the refunds request will be expedited. And there are travel agencies today who focus more on promoting local tours which do not require plane tickets. It will take a long time to gain back the losses but definitely, they can still survive this pandemic.

But I strongly believe that they will gain their wings again, little by little they are recovering with precautionary measures being observed.
Without a doubt, the tourism industry is one of the industries that has been seriously affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Travel restrictions and lockdowns started in most countries at the first quarter of 2020. A lot of destinations have totally or partially closed their borders for tourist and a lot of international flights were suspended. Different countries were implementing the closing of borders or banning the arrivals from specific countries. Airports and hotels were closed, as well as restrictions on mass gatherings, land transport and related services around the world. The pandemic brought millions of jobs at risk and great losses in different businesses, specifically in tourism industry.

Travel and Tour Industry is greatly afftected by this pandemic some airline choose to lessen the number of employee or personnel, numbers of flight has been cancelled, some travel agency got closed for they don't have enough customers.

To answer your question. For me, the Travel and Tour company may have difficulties to surviving during this pandemic because there are still travel restrictions in some parts of the country. Local and International travel requires a lot of requirements and permits for you to be able to travel. And there are also limited flights available and land transportation, making it much more difficult to travel.
Traveling is very important part of our economy and for it to continue it needs the small businesses to provide certain things to make it operate. Covid-19 Pandemic finds its way around the world quietly and we didn't even realize how our lives has been largely affected by this catastrophic disease. A world without tourism is a nightmare for those businesses and individuals whose livelihood depends on the tourism industry. As the virus spreads, the world closes it's doors for inbound and outbound tourists. The government from each country make an effort to save their own people's lives by forcing them to stay home which means economic loss for an industry whose main source of profit was from people leaving their home and travelling the world.
Will the Tourism Industry survive the pandemic?. From my viewpoint, it will recuperate one step at a time. With almost 100 million people working for tourism industry it will be impossible that the industry will just collapse. Apart from that, many natural tourism sites have already gone through restoration because a lot of people stayed home which gives the world it's time to rest.

Travel and tours were prohibited during the lockdown; only essential flights were allowed. It is impossible for the company to survive because people chose to stay at home, and if ever they will be purchasing tickets, they will directly purchase it to the airline companies because they offered a massive sale without any convenience fee. In this pandemic, the travel and tour companies were greatly affected to the point that they needed to adjust and by any means, they did so. They made big adjustments. Some companies resorted to decreasing their number of employees or remove employees. Since this focuses on travel and the pandemic halted the processes of traveling. It may look hard because people will rarely travel and bother these days but with the help of technology, it is easy to spread information. Ever since the pandemic has begun, there is no doubt that one of the most affected industries is Tourism and Hospitality. To contain the virus, a travel ban was implemented which resulted to less consumers as tourists are also at risk with COVID-19 just around the corner.
As times have passed, the Community Quarantine went from Enhanced to General lifting the ban of travelling. Now, with Leisure added as a reason to travel, people are now gradually wanting to go out of their homes after almost a year in lockdown.
It will take some years, yes, but after the pandemic, travel and tour companies will rise higher than it ever did even before the pandemic happened.
From the Airline Companies, Hotels, Cruise Operators and the whole Tourism Industry, the transparency from these sectors indeed received an immense blow and hugely negative impact from the pandemic. It’s been months since the first strike of Corona Virus but we’re still dealing with its damage and barely coping up with the new normal. For the question of "Can the travel and Tour Company survive the Pandemic?” The answer is indefinite because It will depend on the surviving strategies of these certain companies. The Travel and Tour company can survive if it will find alternatives and align their services with the new normal. On the other hand, it will not survive at all, if it will just depend on the pandemic to be over. The impact of the pandemic would be in the long term and these companies should find alternatives instead and conduct other plans to get through.
Nevertheless, I still believe that the Tourism Industry is resilient. Tons of people out there are already in a hurry to travel again and just be free. Once we slowly go back to the “real normal”, the Tourism Industry will soon rise again.
The Covid-19 pandemic has truly changed things especially in the Travel and Tour companies. Many employees have lost their job, and businesses was forced to shut down because of the low income. But it doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to survive this. To answer your question, I think they can survive this pandemic. But they need consistent efforts in maintaining the safety of the customers and observing several precautions and rules. These changes would serve a big impact to the Travel and Tour companies, and also to the travelers, considering the new normal that we have.
