So a couple corrections from this video. If you ignore the Cannibal, Vermithor is the 2nd largest and 3rd oldest dragon. Silverwing is the 4th oldest and Dreamfyre is the 2nd oldest. Their relative sizes are tough, seems to be Silverwing might be a tad bigger than the older Dreamfyre. The Cannibal screws everything up, and I messed it up while I was speaking my script and in the editing process trying to keep them all straight. There's no definite age or size for the Cannibal other than being old enough no one knows its origins so it's up to your imagination. So age: Vhagar, Dreamfyre, Vermithor, Silverwing. Size: Vhagar, Vermithor, Silverwing, Dreamfyre. And when I talked about Jaehaerys threatening to make a Harrenhal of the Stormlands, he did by implication with the line "But Grand Maester Benifer heard the words he did not speak. “Every man and maid and child in the stormlands is my hostage, whilst I ride him, His Grace said without saying,” wrote Benifer, “and Lord Rogar heard him plain.” which is basically the same thing. However the actual character who said they'd Harrenhal Rogar is Rhaena Targaryen. Everyone wants to kill Rogar it seems. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the video and more to come!

I'm pretty sure the restlessness of seasmoke is meant to be because of the death of laenor. Even my show only friends came to this conclusion on their own. We see with sunfyre in the books that dragons can find their rider if they wish to based on their psychic connection. If seasmoke wanted to find laenor he could have.
I kinda feel for Cannibal now. What if he is that way because he is a reclic of a forgotten past or a lonely egg? What if he is that way because he was raised alone, fighting for survival from day one without shelter, friend, parents or partner to develop some kind of social skill. He is as psychotic as a caged animal or a human raised alone, secluded never in contact with others. Poor Cannibal 😢
One of the most ridiculous fan made stories I read about for the Cannibal is that Maegor and his witchy wife Tyanna of the Tower tried to clone Balerion. Which is ridiculous (why would Maegor want a clone of his dragon?) but also interesting for two reasons. First: Maegor himself was said to be born with dark magic by Vysenia, and he turned out to be a kinslayer and a psicopath, just like the Cannibal. Also, anyone born with dark magic is supposed to be evil and scary. Second: a Balerion clone made with dark magic would get the black scales and enormous size from Balerion, the green eyes and green flames (just just like wildfire...) from the dark magic, would be hatched secretly, explaining the lack of information about his origin, and would be about the right age to match the description.
A man of culture who knows his dragons, a tiny bit disappointing he does not know the true story of the Royal Jack The Ripper (the Royal part is the secret).
Around 17:00, it’s interesting that you say the dragons that have been claimed tend to be bigger because of the constant food supply given to them while in captivity, yet in GoT, several times it’s said that keeping dragons in the pits is what led to them becoming smaller, and when dragons could roam free they grew to be a lot bigger. I wonder which is true. Or maybe the pits themselves got smaller over time with less room for growth?
The pit does seem to restrict their growth because when they're on dragonstone, they can just leave to go get more food and hunt if they want to along with food from the dragonkeepers. When they're in the dragonpit, they're like in a zoo. Totally confined and making due with what they get. Think that's the difference.
Let's face it: it's the only opportunity they had. They saw Vhagar one shot Meleys. They didn't expect Caraxes to have a shot, and definitely neither Syrax nor Vermax had one, even together. They could die or risk it all.
I really hope they show the cannibal, his appearance alone would reveal a lot about him and even if we don't see his full appearance, I would love for them to develop a relationship with it and corlys velaryon since the cannibal allegedly appeared at his funeral. I always wondered why corlys never attempted to claim a dragon but since the show is telling us that not only targaryens can claim them, maybe he will give it a shot and try to match his son's energy.
Non-Targaryens claiming dragons isn't just a show thing. Addam of Hull presumably has no more Targaryen lineage than Corlys, unless Mouse happens to be a dragonseed herself.
My personal headcanon, the Cannibal is the last of the Celtigar Dragons. I know that Fire and Blood claimed neither the Velaryons nor Celtigars were ever dragonlords, but I like to think that the Celtigars were once dragonlords of muhc higher status than the Targaryens but lost control of their beasts long before the Doom. We know that the Celtigars are another Valyrian family who moved to the Narrow Sea long before the Targaryens, but unlike the Velaryons it is never noted that they were allies of the Targaryens before the Doom and it does not seem that any Targaryen ever agreed to intermarry with them. It was said once that every great lord has a vassal house that was once a powerful rival and resents its present subjugation. The Boltons are this in the North, the Yronwoods in Dorne, and the Reynes were this in the Westerlands. I see no reason why the Crownlands should be different, and can think of no better candidates to be rivals of the Targaryens than the Celtigars. It is also worth noting that one of Aegon the Conqueror's first acts after landing on Westeros was to take lands away from House Celtigar, declaring that they would never owe tribute of fealty to anyone but the Crown itself, but that House Celtigar ignored this and tried to keep collecting taxes from the people of Crawclaw Pointe. That is some downright Bolton-like behavior there. It would not surprise me if he Celtigars were among the Targaryens who built Dragonstone, or even if they were still living there until the Targaryens and their dragons took the outpost by force. It may be worth noting that the treasury of House Celtigar includes a giant magical horn which is said to summon Krakens instead of Dragons but sounds exactly like the Dragonbinder that Euron presents to the Kingsmoot. Such horns were known to be used by Dragonlords only.
@@sophiawilson8696 Fire and Blood claims they were never dragonlords, but it is an unreliable history. Their treasury contains a giant horn that is described just like Dragonbinder, a sorcerous tool that only Dragonlords are known to have used to control their beasts. I imagine that the Celtigars were to the targaryens what the Boltons were to the Starks, or the Yronwoods to the Martells, the Reynes to the Lannisters, etc. A powerful vassal who was once an independent power greater than their liege, who still resent their subjugation. It is known that one of Aegon the Conqueror's first acts after landing was actually to take lands away from House Celtigar, as they had laid an ancient claim to Crackclaw Point but he promised the people there that they would never owe fealty to anyone but the Crown. We also know that House Celtigar defied him and continued trying to collect taxes there. We also know that Targaryens have always refused to intermarry with the Celtigars, despite their Valyrian heritage. It does not sound like a friendly relationship to me.

No book spoilers please but I have a few questions : 1. I know Vermithor is smaller than Vagar but by how much. All the graphics I can find online differ in their depiction. My current head canon is that the size difference is minimal and if needed, Vermithor would atleast have a good chance in a 1v1 against Vagar (again please no spoilers if that does/doesn’t happen) 2. I’ve seen conflicting reports on the cannibals size, most people say it’s probably slightly smaller than Vermithor while I’ve also seen a few reports that it might be bigger than Balerion (??? How). Are these conflicting reports from a lack of description in the books, or is there another reason it differs so much? 3. Without full spoilers (yes or no answer will suffice here), can we expect the cannibal to have an impact on the future seasons ? Thanks!
1. Vermithor and Vhagar's size difference far less drastic than it was between Meleys and Vhagar. They're fairly close in size, Vhagar would not just win by sheer size like she does against most dragons. 2. Nobody really knows how big the Cannibal is, it's guesswork based on how it is able to chase off and kill other dragons easily along with the unknown age. Dragons are known to keep growing as they get older, so if the Cannibal really is ancient then it should be enormous. However in the show they've been clear Vhagar and Vermithor are 1 and 2, so a reasonable guess would be 3rd biggest. 3. Maybe? One of the biggest moments for the Cannibal is during the red sowing where it and Sheepstealer kill a fair amount of potential riders. However they compressed that to Vermithor and Silverwing only, and Rhaena and Sheepstealer alone.
@@JoeMagician Thanks so much for the response! Fingers crossed they give the cannibal some screen time and importance, his name and more is too badass to ignore!
Reptiles have generally a constant growth until a certain size is reached, and then the growth slows down significantly. By general info in the books, Balerion's growth was very slow after the conquest (around 120yo) and Vhagar was described as already huge during Jaehaerys kingdom, when she was around 120yo. So we can assume Vermithor is still growing at full speed, and Vhagar's growth has been very slow after turning 120yo. Considering Vermithor is about 100yo, I assume Vhagar is around 30% larger. Also, Vermithor is described as a very fast growing dragon. By any stretch, a 1v1 Vermithor vs Vhagar should end with both dragons dead, or at least one dead and the other taking permanent damage. There is no book clarity on the Cannibal's real size, but he's 100% smaller than Vhagar. Best case, he's slightly bigger than Vermithor. Worst case, he's slightly smaller than Silverwing. Extremely aggressive in both cases, no dragon can go 1v1 with the Cannibal and come out healthy to tell the story. I sincerely don't think we'll even see the Cannibal on screen.
@@12gark thanks so much for the reply. Thanks for the insight, it really puts things into perspective. That’s disappointing about the cannibal, hopefully they find some way to show him off !
I have to add some items here is it Targaryen blood or Valyirans blood? If only Valyirans blood why ask the Celtitars? To be Riders? Also there theory that Velaryons and all Valyirans are lizard people more part Dragons. Also an other theory that Hightowers and Daynes are from Great Empire of the Dawn and also hold DNA'S of Dragons. They DON'T just remember it.
We cover the fact that there's an accepted idea of dragon riders needing to be pure blood Targaryen, and that it's not true given first the "diluted blood" Targaryens, and then with the Velaryon dragon riders. So when we cover the fact that there's an accepted idea of dragons only taking a new rider after the death of the previous one... I don't know, the actual numbers of recorded dragons and riders throughout all of history seems like a small sample size and in truth we don't really know the "rules"
@@LisaAnn777 read the book. It clearly said these a baseless rumours spread by villagers. Cannibal isn't even that big and we know the older the dragon the bigger we also know dragons have a 200 years life span. Cannibal was the biggest of the wild dragons sheep stealer was close to vermithor size maybe bigger than silver wing and Cannibal is bigger than sheep stealer so Cannibal is probably slightly smaller than vermithor who is know as the biggest dragon on dragon stone. Cannibal colour scheme black and green. the Black and the Greens hence why it was cut from the show cause it wasn't important to the story.
Weird that somehow Daenerys, with zero training and little experience, managed to maintain effective command and control of three dragons while atop one, but no one in a time before the extinction of dragons could control more than one. I kid, I kid. It was just bad writing in GOT.
daeny could control her 2 smaller dragons bc she hatched them with blood and fire magic which created a connection with them even though she wasn't bonded 2 them as there rider + they also see and treat her as there mother and follow her around the same way ducklings follow there parents.
That's only the show the show is not canon. In the books denearys don't have that level of control over her dragons they only follow her cause she's their mother she can't make them fight for her. Except dragon which is her only dragon.
@juliusfishman7222 I was referring only to the show. In the books she doesn't even have that kind of control over Drogon. He took her to the Dothraki Sea.

1. I know Vermithor is smaller than Vagar but by how much. All the graphics I can find online differ in their depiction. My current head canon is that the size difference is minimal and if needed, Vermithor would atleast have a good chance in a 1v1 against Vagar (again please no spoilers if that does/doesn’t happen)
Nah, Imma always believe that the cannibal is the size of the black dread🙂↕️

Seymour 💔💔
The Dragon Squib. A glance at my account pic will tell you I love it!
I wouldn’t object tat to Hanna being recast .. maybe the actress will surprise me as baella has grown on me ..
But rhaena seems frail n weak
Mutton is Goat 🐐, no?
No, it's sheep
Mutton usually means sheep meat, but it can refer to the meat a goat, urial, muskox, or other caprine.
@@magister343 Depends on the region, in north america mutton is only sheep.
You guys keep spreading false villager rumours of cannibal. In truth he's just a normal dragon around silver wings age.
What
@@LisaAnn777 read the book. There's nothing special about cannibal he was just a metaphor for the Targerians destroying themselves.
@@CrimsonReapa Denaerys didn't really control all 3 dragons. She just controlled one dragon, whom the other two viewed as their alpha.
@@magister343 her other 2 dragons saw her as there mother hence why they followed her around even when drogon was no where in sight
Is anyone else sick of that dumb look Rhaena has every week? We lost the Nettles story for this?!?!?
Why didn't they use their dragons to kill the cannibal, are they stupid?
Given that they chose to build the dragonpit rather than kill the Cannibal, guessing they found it exceedingly dangerous to try.
