Arch casually filling in plot holes Abnett tries to forget about. thats a true mark of Sainthood
Chaos: We took Saint Sabbat's worlds.
Slaydo: And i took that personally.
The inquisitor has blessed us with a Thursday upload.
Also Slydo: Time to bring out both my playbook and fantasy army league roster to retake the sector.
Fighting with chainswords is just a normal part of Gaunt family reunions.
Well it did happen twice.
Amazon: We have millions of dollars
Fans: We have an Arch
And much better use of English 🏴
Mans enjoying all the words he can roll his R's in
...at this point the fans are the only ones holding up the lore instead of trying to stamp it out.
All Hail Emperor Le Arch ;)
Puny false gods...
The Chad Slado versus the Virgin Heretics
Though the imperial war machine is a slow and impossibly sluggish thing to get into moving, having enough red tape to seal the eye of terror, when awoken it can come down on the enemies of the Imperium like the Fist of the God Emperor himself.
And a fight with the Imperium is one you can’t win the longer it goes
Anyone think they were based on the Russian 🇷🇺 army too? Historically very slow to mobilise. If you let them get going your in trouble 👿
@@LooneyPoliticsTunesthat is quite literally every large military. Only difference for the US military is that comparatively we are faster because of the massive investment in logistical infrastructure and regularly training in bringing to bear all of our power as quickly as possible. Even then moving millions of people from point A to point B is a daunting proposition. You have a million men carrying billions of dollars worth of gear consuming 2 billion calories of food a day and using half a billion gallons of water
Very nice arch your lore has a certain flavour other channels can not replicate

@arch ...i had to stop this video 200 times...
my daughter was yelling all the time: papa the tiny mouse so she watched the mouse and after 5 min came back the tiny mouse^^
you made a 3 year old girl verry happy with this new screen ^^
To Inquisitor Arch,
"I hope this letter finds you well and productive, slaughtering the enemies of the Throne. I wished to express my appreciation of your work, as your pict recordings of your lectures on the history of imperial campaigns and inquisitorial involvement therein have made for excellent supplemental material for my acolytes to study. I too find myself going over your series dedicated to the Vraks and Badab campaigns in my less busy hours to reacquaint myself with the history of the Imperium I am sworn to serve. I am glad to see you have not rested on your laurels, but have begun another historical record on the Sabat Crusades. My Interrogator brought the news to my attention just a few standard Terran days ago, and it pleases me to see that, even as the darkness encroaches around use, you are still just as willing as I to hold up the torch of The Emperor's light. May the Throne preserve you are your work for millennia to come."
Ave Imperator,
Inquisitor Alon Khaiden af Scarus, Ordo Malleus
When Arch first said "Warmaster", I swear I heard a discordant note.
*HORUS WHY*
Im surprised the Imperium didn't retire the title after the Heresy, the way they no longer call the German Chancellor the Führer.
I'm surprised the title of Warmaster is still used. You would think that would have been one of the first things to go after the Heresy.
It was used very rarely, and only for sector level conflicts iirc. The imperium understood the moral boost the title could have, when used correctly.
More often they use the title “Lord Solar”.
I was thinking the same thing
12:00 No, Arch, the flow of the warp was just so damn good that everything fell into place perfectly so that many of the ships arrived before they left thanks to the blessing of the Emperor. Logistics aren't a problem when you are bending the laws of space and time (and sending out requisition requests before getting permission to do so).
“We have been given our crusade my sons , the Sabbat Worlds” Warmaster Slaydo
Slaydo writing his warmaster phd thesis on the Sabbat worlds, then asking for the job of re-taking them, is pretty cool
If Archie goes through the entire Sabbat Worlds content, it'll be a blessed day in the Imperium.
Can't wait for him to start talking about the bad rock, Jago.
Sacred feth, lord Inquisitor Arch is spoiling us.
Feth has heretical origins. Please report to your local authorities and turn yourself in.
So glad you decided to make this series, Arch. I can't tell you how excited I am. Thanks!
day 35, of year 691 of Millenia 41 that Arch cares more about the lore of WH40K than GW themselves
It's been that way for at Least a Decade at this point...
Worth noting Abnett was clear that Gaunt’s rank was a mistake, not understanding what a commissar was, while Oktar is simply the way a higher ranking commissar was referred to in the Soviet Union.
It’s a bit unclear if “lord commissar” was even lore-current at the time.
You mean that a GW writer had no idea about the lore when they were writing!?!? Say it isn't so
@@cp1cupcake You’re forgetting how long ago this was. Pre-codex 3e was before the Summary Execution rule, so a commissar of the period was literally just a leader model.
The fact that the editors didn’t notice is the more interesting part, but fair play to Abnett and Merrit for finding a cool work around in the aftermath.
As I said, I’m not even clear if Lord Commissar was a thing back then. Might even have come out of these novels.
It did.
This week has been absolutely horrific. 14 hour shifts, concrete dives... all culminating in a 27 hour shift burning. This, with a beer, makes it all worth it. Thank you Arch
I'm waiting for Arch's background video/wallpaper to turn into like an 8-bit style platformer shooter XP
Remember folks, another series means a lot of time. If you have it, send Arch a cup of coffee a month for his patreon.
Thanks for the content Arch.
Arch… love the channel. Love the lore. Love the changes you’re making. All noticed all appreciated. That been said, consider toying with the background music while you talk. Your voice is why we’re all here, the current music takes away from it. Then again, it might be mixing problem. Continue the great work
Anywhere else but 40K. Slado's pre-emptive staff work would be lauded. Slado knows how long it takes to get anything done in the Imperium. Never mind gathering forces from all over the place. Once he is WarMaster. Dropping a pre-done list of recall for XY and Z forces to a staging area. That saves a huge amount of time. As its mostly one way traffic to send the recall orders. He can then focus on some of the thorny problems, like logistics and the political shenanigans.
A General or Admiral is supposed to know the disposition of all forces in his AO. With a fair idea of what is where outside their AO. Having said that. That 100 days kick-off thing, is just stupid. A full five years would have been more realistic, to gather the beans, bullets and bodies.
Different franchise I know, but it would be interesting to see a strategy match up between slado and thrawn (predisney).
@shadowhunter0176 Thrawn would spend a week studying Imperium art, then realize that they are an insane death cult, and commit suicide from the sheer crushing entropy they represent.
@@shanehudson3995 touche
@@shadowhunter0176 Thrawn would be eleven steps ahead of any 40K Commander we have seen. Thrawn is a true leader and strategist. Not many 40k commander's can actually lead, versus command. Thrawn would not use Commisar's. Different 'verses of course.
Tbh. Thrawn in 40K would be the target of endless assassinations'. As he is just too good for the High Lords and Inquisition to let live. Someone who thinks, plans and is as utterly competent as Thrawn is, too much of a threat. We can see all the Imperium's weakness's, from our God's eye view. Thrawn is portrayed as being that good in universe. Thrawn neither waste troops, nor kill someone for a mistake that's not their fault. Which is why troops trust him, and go above and beyond for him. Apart from Bobby G, Can you name anyone else that combines Thrawn's traits into a 40K character?
In Zahn's trilogy. The New Republic had to work bleeping hard, to even slow Thrawn. We have all seen Big E and Primarch's be written stupidly and do incompetent things. and do WTH moments as soon as you read what they are doing. Thrawn, unusually for this type of character, does not have the overweening arrogance and belief that he is always right. He will withdraw and change plans. He also does it without any "magic".
@@Yandarval He could have defeated the Repulic at Bilibringi,if he wasn't assassinated by his bodyguard for shit the Emperor and Darth Vader pulled by poisoning his planet, which they discovered with the help of Princess Leia.
I love how Arch has intermixed his own RP-lore with the Gaunt segment to make certain details available to the viewer diagetically that would otherwise require a break in the tale being spun. Superb storytelling!
Another video so soon! Ohh so fething excited!
And on what is arguably the best subseries in Warhammer lore. As ncos would say "out-fething-standing".
@@shadowhunter0176 not gonna lie, I want this to go on for a long time and with as much detail as possible lol
Hero of the Imperium. Which is why he was assassinated.
Slaydo fell in battle.
@@crippletime Ork poison, Ork snipers, Ork frags, lots of way to fall in battle.
@@ornu01You’re thinking of Commissar-General Oktar. He was poisoned, Slaydo was killed by the Archon’s forces in front of Gaunt’s own eyes.
@@samaritan_sys I used Orks and frags as an example because of the Commissar-General.
The excitement is unreal Each time arch uploads a new lore video love the new animated background
By the emperor! long have i been waiting for these Arch!! no matter the times your takes and renditions are top notch and so fucking entertaining!! please keep it up!
loyalty is its own reward!
The Warmaster arrives
HOLD! Keep the algorithm at bay! We WILL cross the threshold! Under the Arch!
These last two videos have been great, even by Arch's high standards, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for doing this series Arch. I loved the books, and I think your doing this brilliantly.
Fantastic. Utterly awesome. Not only getting out a second video so quickly but one so detailed and with so many images to go with it. I read the Tanith books so often the first two fell apart on me. This is a blast from when I first got into 40K. These books and Ragnar Blackmane were my first forays into the novels. Seeing videos about the Sabbat Worlds Crusade is going to be a lot of fun. Still digging the Doomesque studio shots LOL.
🥤🥲🍿It has begun.
Ave Imperator, morituri te salutant
Arch letting us in on sealed Inquisition files. I am expecting Exterminantis any moment.
Great vid as always Arch!
And dude.. Happy Swedish national day to you as well.
The Sabbat world crusade is really interesting to learn about.
Amazing series and i love the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. One of my favorite along with the Great Crusade and Baddab War.
Fuck yeah Gaunt's ghosts.
Nothing like a new Arch Campaign series on a bad day thanks for the great content
There are many good things in life, but few things are as good as a lore series narrated by Arch.
Sweet googly moogly, it's precious, precious lore!
Arch you are amazing. Looking forward to the whole series
Fuck yeah Arch! IT BEGINS! I've been looking forward to this since it was announced a year ago!
Seriously, I like this pixelated animation for you avatar on your videos now.
Imperium At War mod for Empire of War would be lit
IF IT EXISTED!!!!
I fear that in Arch new pixelated art style, his skaven girls will make a random appearance somewhere in the background.
Maybe the 100 days was from when he was accepted to head the campaign and not including all the work before hand?
Quite a nice day, new arch lore and new helldiver warbond trailer
Heck yea, I was really looking forward to this Series!
To be fair, listening to the battledoctrine of the Crusade it brings back thoughts of the Soviet "Deep Battle Doctrine" A grand push along the front to probe for a weakpoint and then crack the frontline. While the rest of the army ties up the enemy and slows down major redeployments. A risky plan to be sure as it also Dilutes your own forces, and a ruthless enemy might sacrifice a few points to bring overwhelming force against the smaller individual armies arrayed against them. Still better than a full frontal push though..
Just had a rough moment at work, this is a blessing from the Emperor 🙌
Uploads not only on friday arch is either about to fall into an early grave or i went to heaven at some point.
I like the animated background. Nice improvement.
"There were two factions of eldar present" Oh no no no no no
I see rats, all hail the great horned rat!
LORE FOR THE LORE GODDDD!!!!!!!!
I never did this before, but I am in deed the first on this video, of course due to my pure skill and not luck whatsoever.
Good work Arch
man i want to see a steel division style game with the sabbat worlds crusade being the main focus
18:27 yeah! Ibram Gaunt! Hell yeah!
Nice I'm going to watch everyone of these been wait for another series like this 😊
I've been waiting for this since the Armageddon series, and it is now here. For Tanith for the Emperor.
And thus they marched, swelled by duty, towards death. For Death is not but the duty of all those who follow His name. By rank and by file, they will march towards the Emperor's Will. They will fight and they will die. For Death is their duty and their Duty is to serve Him on Holy Terra.
I wonder what would have happened if Lord Slaydo and his Crusade Forces had been sent to the Damocles Gulf Crusade instead of a Dozen Capital Ships...
1 hour?! We're eating good today
Loving these videos good stuff dude .
The GREAT ARCH has once more blessed us with another great episode in this saga of hopefully EPIC proportions.
Keep up the fantastic work
Praise the EMPEROR
Yes arch. You are back on fine form sir.
11:26 saint-making and hagiography. That's what it is.
The Wobbly Lore Master returns ! - Emperor light is shining on us yet again :D
I know he doesn’t fit the art, but I always imagined Aaron Eckert to be the perfect man to play Gaunt in live action.
these watercolor maps are amazing, as well as the background music. who are the artists?
17:00 What's fanart for Planetside 2 doing here?
Since it was a victory celebration there is a non zero chance that what ended the commissar's life was simply orkish alcohol. Which is effectively the same thing as poison tbh.
I freaking love the 8bit scene
Love it!! Cant wait for more.
Emperor protects!
This needs to be read by Toby longworth
Thank you so much for this Arch, been waiting excitedly since you said Sabat was a thing. Gaunt's Ghosts is 40k at its best
Lol Arch larping as an inquistor
Nha babe you can put your brah back on, the great Warmaster Slaydo lore vid just dropped.
On the timeline, I've read of warp quirks where ships move faster than they normally would because of the Warp being... the Warp. Including an instance of a reinforcing army arriving at a world before they'd actually left the planet they departed from. It is possible, especially given some of the shichanry and hijinks that ensued later (like the Eldar supercharging the Tanith 1st to the point where Imperial command flat out refused to believe they did what they did, to say nothing of Saint Sabbat's rebirth itself), that various powers could have influenced the speed of the travel? Especially given that Slaydo, who from my reading of the Gaunt's Ghosts books, basically seems like the second coming of Maccharius, may have had the necessary paperwork/logistics moved into place over the prior two decades, just waiting for the official green light to launch? Perhaps a rare case of "highly motivated, ambitious, initiative taking Imperial commander who isn't a corrupt glory hound?"
More Sabbat Worlds ! Nice !
Do orks actually poison food or drinks? I mean it is "Butally kunnin"
But it just doesnt feel like their style, I always assumed it was the machination of chaos agents or something.
It's never addressed that way. Most likely Abnett did an oopsie.
Absolutely wicked animation Arch, my compliments to the artist.
ENGAGEMENT FOR THE ALGORITHM GOD! COMMENTS FOR THE COMMENT THRONE!
Ah for a moment I dared to hope that we will have 2vids a week. Truly glorious
What timing, I just started reading the Gaunt's Ghosts books.
I have so much i want to hear about in this series and many questions to ask and yet all i can think is, "but what is your little rat bricks name climbing up the book rack?"
Thanks for the content, old man
Love it, pls bring some more, Arch. Thx.
Is it just me or is the playlist in the wrong order?
IBRAM GAUNT MENTIONED !!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAH WTF IS A BAD LEADER ???
@arch The Animation is cool but that idle animation is bit much. Looks like Inquisitor is breathing super heavy
Arch constelation... Nice! And well deserved too !
I meant to watch this early just got my reminder
Comment for the comment God, algorithm for the algorithm Throne.
