And also you never should have made the big stupid monster in the first place because all it does is drain resources endlessly but you really wanted to see that ATK number get bigger
Against all odds, Square Enix still owns the rights to Gex. The SE logo is in the reveal trailer for the Gex Trilogy remaster, which dropped about a year after the Embracer acquisition.
That comment about board gaming being more stable is funny to me. They're only saying that because the board game properties they own are gigantic and evergreen. Board gaming in general has become quite flooded lately like videogames. We hear about publishers going under or getting acquired a lot.
"From wrong to very wrong" was such a Final Bosman statement it made me feel nostalgic My guess with Asmodee is that tabletop outgoings are much lower than videogames, so if a tabletop game fails there's considerably less risk than there is with a AAA game

If Asmodee getting ~$1 billion in debt damages Fantasy Flight Games and Arkham Horror: The Card Game, my favorite board game of all time, I'll never forgive Embracer and Lars Wingefors. 🤬
So if I understand correctly, this was the mid point of the Delayed Input mid year season, so we're taking a mid year break that will consist of a mid year break season which will have mid year break to video in the middle of that. Cool, I think I got it. See you next year!
Kyle, I love Delayed Input, I really really do. And I just wanted to say I miss hearing you on weekly podcasts. You have an incredible ability to analyze games through such a thoughtful and humorous lens. If you ever decided to host another podcast like the early EZA days I would be there Day 1, my friend.
I can understand the reasoning for where to put the debt. If you want to be able to make regular payments to the big banks, you need a steady cashflow and thats not going to come from companies that are putting out 2, maybe 3 big projects every year. Compare that to Asmodee, who can put out games at a much higher rate, and can work with other IP Licensors to make Licensed versions of their games with ease. There are like 30 different varieties of Dobble that all link to different IP, from Harry Potter to Arsenal Football Club.
@@LoliconSamalik You'd think but it's a thing that happens. I forget which company but could also have this completely wrong but I think it was P&G (maybe Johnson & Johnson?) was being sued for their stuff causing cancer and they were like "we're sorry, this part of the company will take care of that" and then they just dissolve that company and anything that group was responsible for just poofs into the air. Again, I'm paraphrasing or could be way off the mark but yeah.

Didn't Phil said something quite similar to "don't expect everything is coming to those platforms" when they announced that Xbox games were coming to PC in like 2016? Like I don't think everything is coming obviously but it's just not these 4 games tho.
I guess Embracer becomes Divider? I use to cover a lot of Kickstarer campaigns, and when I did; I noticed that there was a huge demand for table top kickstarter projects. More so than indie game development. That was quite a few years ago, and I don't know how much the table top landscape has changed since then. But I don't think it changed much. I think table top games are still a big business. It probably makes sense to break this group off. They even mention it is very stable business. Also, the Middle Earth/ Tomb Raider company. It doesn't matter what they rename the company. Middle Earth and Odie will have the staying power of Project Beast.

Hence my comment about HiFI having the same # of people play the game.
Kyle is very aware of it
What Embracer Group is trying to do doesn't sound legal at all? Like the one company can just declare bankruptcy and the other 2 are fine?
