You should have turned your traction control on! It’s a Volvo after all 😂. Great video always fun when you and Justin work together. Time lapse was a nice touch 😉
It's interesting how the camera changes perception, something steep looks mild, something level looks slanted, something straight looks curved. Have a great day.
You should try watching some of these video's drunk, if you think the camera changes perception now. You might even start seeing the pink elephants Chris randomly inserts in videos LOL.
Good job Chris. I haven't dug a basement in quite a while. Not much new house construction going on in NWPA. At least you weren't playing with mud in a lake on this one....lol!
I find that I want way more detail about the whole job and explanations about that stick and what it does and why you override what your co- worker was telling you. Great vid and more time lapse please
15th or something, who gives a damn? You did what you could with what you had Chris. All you can do . Shovel pushing left and pulling right. Close is good enough. Thanks for the video.
Need spray can of marking paint - when at grade put 0 with a slash thru it. If high, put -1, -2 or whatever to get to grade. That way operator and grade checker dont even need to talk and operator always knows what is at grade with a quick glance.
Yet another question: (Sorry, can't help myself) When you swing the bucket back toward you, does the excavator automatically compensate for the swing in such a way that that helps you dig a level footer? Or does the bucket dig into the ground with more of an arch type motion? It looks to me that the main boom of the excavator rises up as you pull the bucket back toward you, which would help to make the footer you are digging more level. Hope this question makes sense.
Based on his screen, i doubt it's automatic. Assuming he's using the correct operator controls (not backhoe controls), the left hand swings the machine left and right, and moves the boom up and down. The right hand curls the bucket in/out, and brings the arm forward/backwards. As he brings the arm in, the operator lifts the boom to keep the bucket at the correct height. If the operator didn't light the boom, then yes, the arm would swing in an arch like motion.
I've watched a bunch of your videos. I was curious about something. Do you own your own truck to move that Volvo around or do you pay to have it moved?
Is it an optical illusion or is the bucket bent/tweaked to the right alittle? Hadn't noticed before but been a minute since I have watched you do precision digging.
Absolutely love your videos man. Been a fan of you on UA-cam for a long time. Crazy to see people dig em with hoes though. We dig em up here in CO with 938s
It bugs me to no end when you need someone to assist you and they're sitting on their phone the whole time. There was no way that guy was totally focused on what he was doing.
Brian Campbell Chris stated at the start of the video that this is going to be a walk out basement you also have to "over dig" so the concrete crew has room to set up the forms
That is so it’s easier to paint them whatever color you want. I seen black, Blue, red, and of course dirty yellow. Also won trucking company has a brown dump truck. Me and my mom and dad were driving somewhere, and dad suddenly says oh my god what an ugly looking dump truck. When I asked why he said it’s poop colored.
Does anyone even watch the whole video? Those who do this for a living don't wanna watch someone else do it for fun!!! This should have been a 2 minute time lapse!!
this is without a doubt the worst digging of a basement ive ever seen.......so much time wasted, should be able to dig 2 walkouts a day with sewer and water installs
You have a great crew and you guys make it look easy (and fun). 😃

Chris, You are good, good enough that all Justin needs to do with that stick is L&W...
That's Lean & Watch. Thanks for the great videos.
"the suns in my damn face"
* whilst wearing a cap and sun glasses over the top of the peak of said cap :D
hehehe just love it
I like how you said “lets dig”. Ha ha I see what you did there.
Are we going to see the whole process of this basement job? I'd love to watch this be done.
Think this is the smoothest I've seen you work. Keeping it clean 👍
Time lapse looks great! I know it's a pain but you should do more if you can
It's interesting how the camera changes perception, something steep looks mild, something level looks slanted, something straight looks curved. Have a great day.
Fish eye lenses. The earth is flat.
vegascolors Lol!

Great video Chris thanks for sharing have a great day
You make it look easy!!! 👍👍
it is though LOL
letsdig18 so is nailing a chick for 2 solid hours, if you get enough practice
That Chipper Guy comrade bigball"z"!! Glad to see you here! How are you?!
Who ever cleared that lot left alot of termite food.
Good job Chris. I haven't dug a basement in quite a while. Not much new house construction going on in NWPA. At least you weren't playing with mud in a lake on this one....lol!
I told UA-cam, "... with a bulldozer," and I get this. And it's NOT a "basement." It's a shallow hole.
After the last few weeks of you dealing with mud, crazy people and gas lines, you deserved an easy job. Thanks for the videos.
This is true, but I miss the smoke and fire.
Comrade bigdeal! Getting all fancy with the timing lapse! I like it. DRINK MORE VODKAS

Grade man on phone thought you was going to have to do it all
David Golden You are Grade man on phone through going to have to do it all

Simple thumbs up or down then throw up inches off with fingers. Quickest way
Have you considered throwing the dirt to the side of the excavation to start the back fill? All that clay is going to get moved back anyway.
Chris, it is just so impressive watching you work, your precision is awesome.
Well done. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for video man .
Now that made a change, can at least rely on Justin to give you a change in work.
Could have sworn I seen you at the 100+ years of progress show today
He was there.
I liked the time lapse
Looking goid Chris 👍
I've watched a bunch of your videos. I was curious about something. Do you own your own truck to move that Volvo around or do you pay to have it moved?
Justin needs to get him a Bluetooth headset because every time he tries to do something he ends up with his phone stuck up against his head.
nicely done ..
Tell your boy to mark a spot that’s on grade and move the laser so the rod is closer to the ground
Is it an optical illusion or is the bucket bent/tweaked to the right alittle? Hadn't noticed before but been a minute since I have watched you do precision digging.
Wayne Tharp that is Justin's rental machine. Being a rental it is highly possible it bent.
It does look like the bucket is bent to the side some
Let's just hope Justin put his initials on the insurance waiver line of rental agreement! 😁

What is the low black and white fencing for?
Be Bå erosion control most states have requirements for it to be used on jobs like this
@@pirox2720 Ah, ok, thanks.
That’s on that lot you cut a bunch of trees off of the other week, Right.. ?
That is not a basement at all ...
Didn't Justin commit a OSHA violation when talking on the cell phone? Or, maybe he was talking to his mom. LOL
When u making a video with the 250 excavator
How is that ready for a basement? Shouldn't look like a hole for a swimming pool?
Brian Campbell Chris stated at the start of the video that this is going to be a walk out basement you also have to "over dig" so the concrete crew has room to set up the forms
@@pirox2720 Thank You. I got another look at it after R's comment. Theyre building it down a hill.
Definitely not Pitt County dirt!!
Not used to that small bucket
It's a shame they only sell white trucks where you're from :)

When digging a basement shouldn't it be at least 4 feet deep
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good job it seems you work every day why don't you go fishing or hunting something to relax
We did relax, we went to a antique equipment show today, then we decided to dig a basement in 2 hours this afternoon
What no mud your slipping
Text book pattern! ....13
You need a Trimble or ez dig
When did ya crack the windshield?
Not his machine.
Do you follow OSHA regulations concerning safety in ditches over four feet deep?
Boy Chris, that is the ugliest dirt I have seen in NC as long as I have been watching your channel
