I came up with a theory as to why the clone/stormtrooper armor sucks against Stone Age weapons based on information from official Star Wars sources. The material of the armor is an energy dissipating plasteel material made specifically so that blasters wouldn’t damage the bodies of the clones. As long as the bodies are in decent condition, they can be retrieved and revived in bacta tanks.
