I've watched a lot of videos on repair of Lawn mowers of all sorts and repair/refurbishment of their damaged bodies. There was no question that This guy is an absolute professional and master at body work repair the right way. Every engineer I know would completely agree with his repair Methodology and techniques. He is the example for all other Technicians to follow, in my opinion. UA-cam mechanics will learn many things from him. Absolutely Outstanding and superior workmanship all the way around. Ten star rating out of ten stars. Fantastic job!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you, your comment is very much appreciated
beautiful job, the best i have seen ,i learned a lot, thanks Lewis
Awesome, thank you!
Wow, I love the quality of your work. Having flipped many tractors over the years it’s a fine line between how far to go to keep your profit up and time invested low. This finish is as close to showroom as you can get 👍.
Thanks 👍
Great job Sir. Look real good. I have an older GX345 I took it apart to do a deep dive clean up. Painting the fenders and foot pad.
thank you for answering all my questions, you have helped me more than I can say
Happy to help!
Learned alot from your vids , have a LA100 restored and restoring a RX75 from watching your videos 👍
Nice work..
Awesome work man! These projects are always so fun.
They are!
One less machine in the scrap bin. Great results!
That’s a real good idea using those bolts on the hood. Probably more solid than the original. I just can’t understand why John Deere can’t make a steel/metal hood like the foot rest and the back/gas tank cover. Good video.
Amazing ! That was awesome! Thx so much for sharing g your expertise!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You do great work! Just a little tip if you care...but I use RUST-OLEUM Sunburst paint Yellow spray paint vs JD paint. It's half the price, covers WAY better too.
Cool, thanks!
Nice job
Love these videos. Hopefully you made some good profit
I did….
That looks nice!
What did you sell it for? Saw the pin hole on the lid of the POR, how to you store it?
I believe I sold it for $2400cad. I added electrical tape over the hole on the lid.
Alot of work, but it came out really nice.
Yup. Didn’t look that bad but it got worse. I had to finish it.

Great job! Can you share the products you used when painting? Thanks!
Por-15 prep and rust paint. Then Rattle can John deere paint. Takes two weeks to cure.
Great videos!
When do you use etching primer vs high build primer or POR 15 primer before putting your John Deere paint on ?
Thank you.
I first use por-15 prep on the metal. Then por-15 paint or primer. Under the deck I used por-15 paint (no primer).
Nice Job. 👍
Just wondering how much total time it took in repairing and sourcing parts and total cost of those parts?
I forgot to add it in the video. Tractor with all the parts came to $1150 or so. Sold it for $2400. Didn’t count my hours. Too many lol.
@@WeekendHobbyMechanic I have a john dear tracker and it need some TLC. Whenever I look at what it would take to restore it, I decide on just waiting until it dies and buy a brand new one for about the same cost it would take to restore it in parts and labor. However if I have the time to spare I would love to do this as a hobby.
Having said that, I don’t understand why someone would pay $2400 for this when they could buy a new one for about the same price.
This tractor in Canada sells for $3900 plus 15% tax. I sold it for half price. Good deal
@@WeekendHobbyMechanic WOW! I didn’t know Canada was that expensive.
@@irfanfarid $3900cad equals $2886us.
very nice, did you take the torch to the foot pads too?
I did…
Why did you not sand blast the fender?
Great vid... I'm a new subscriber..
Thanks. I did sandblast the fenderdeck.
How many hours were on it and how much did you sell it for? I flip john deere mowers and I like to have $300-$400 into them and sell for 700-900. I don't get to crazy on the paint, usually just a quick sand, prime and paint. Time is money so I am quick with my repairs and I price them to sell fast
Tractor (138hrs) with all the parts came to $1150. Sold it it for $2400. ($1886us).
@@WeekendHobbyMechanic
How much a brand new one cost?
@@RomeoUrsu-fy9qo in Canada a new 130 goes for $4500 cad with taxes.
@@WeekendHobbyMechanic
Wow
Pretty expensive
Where did you get the new decals? Thanks!
Bought them at my local John Deere dealer.
Awesome job where did you purchase the stickers from?
John Deere dealership.
Where did you get the stickers for the mower deck?
Bought them at the John Deere dealership.
you in NFLD ?
Nova Scotia.
lol me too but I thought I could sense a little twinge of Newfie slur in ya . lol. I do the same as you and fix mowers up and flip em , its a great hobby , the only hobby I got that pays , subscribed , great content , keep up the good work @@WeekendHobbyMechanic
@@TheCaperfish. thank you. (I’m French Acadian ). Lol.
Y not just remove the fender it's literally 4 bolts
All that labor and you spray the highest cost, lowest quality rattle can finish. At least use JD paint if you are going through that much effort. Really should be using a spray gun. I can tell the finish looks worse than OEM.
Too many ads!
The quality of John Deere products has gone to 💩!!.
The 100 series is there “lower end” models. It is to compete against the MTD, Craftsman etc…
