Which position groups are you most panicked about? Most confident?

Great analysis! I completely agree, I really cannot understand the strategy of not announcing a starter. It feels like the way this is being handled will put even more pressure on whoever starts (probably Jake). The first ball that gets overthrown, or the first rough offensive drive that stalls everyone is going to clambering for the backup. Feels unfair to the starter. I get giving the qb a short leash but don’t tell everyone that, which is basically what they are doing.

Totally. It feels like they've set them up for failure. It also feels indecisive, which doesn't give me confidence. Having said that, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, and maybe there's more of a plan that we're not privy to. I just can't see what that would be.

If they were playing a tougher opponent on their schedule first, then it would make more sense, but they're playing * checks notes * ... Southern Illinois. Their 3rd stringer ought to be able to handle the job competently enough

Yeah, it's really bizarre. To me it undermines their cause. And it looks like they aren't confident in their QB, which means fans won't either. The first mistake people are going to be calling for the backup.
