I still feel like the Military presence kept that air of moral grey. From an outside observer, they defimitely seem more violent and uncommunicative, but from the perspective of someone who's observed what the virus does, its almost depressingly sane why they're so drastic. Before I start, bare in mind that I was in the military, 19D and have two family members likewise serving. I talked with them both about this subject, and at no point were they ever taught to kill their own people, but rather instead, to protect them. So I generally feel that those making those statements are anti-military and just looking for something to tarnish the bravery of those who wish to kill their lives in the service of their country. There are standards in place that allows a soldier to disobey what he believes is an unlawful order, of course, you gotta becareful when doing that as what you perceive as unlawful may be lawful in the eyes of the constitution. An example being this very movie. What these soldiers are doing is not unlawful in the least, nor is it unconstitutional. You *have* to contain an outbreak in order to prevent it from spreading to other population centers, otherwise you'll have a major pandemic on your hands. I'll give an example: soldiers being ordered to kill a group of civilians due to being infected with a *not curable illness* that can spread like wildfire and kill others, is not unlawful because there is no known cure. In order to prevent it from spreading, you gotta take out the carriers. Ya, I know, it's harsh and it would be wonderful if people could live - but you gotta remember: The lives of the many outweigh the lives of the few. Again, harsh. But it's better to contain and kill off a population of infected rather than let them mill about and infect the entire country. And yes, if I were one of those infected, I'd be willing to trade my life to ensure that someone else isn't infected. (then again, that might be because I understand that there more lives at stake than my own) However, it is true that the military is trained to kill people (duh, how else are you going to protect your country and its citizens from external *and sometimes internal* threats?) However, it is a myth - an actual lie - that the military trains our soldiers exclusively to kill their own people. I'll be blunt, I'd have liked it if the military was called out to deal with some of the terroristic threats we have in our country (Antifa, for example) but the constitution forbids their deployment within the country unless a national emergency is declared. Admittedly, there have been times that the guard has been called out and yes they have fired on citizens before, for justifiable reasons: Katrina - initially the guard was not permitted use of deadly force, but after *they* were fired upon many times by gangs, those orders were changed. They fired upon gangs that fired upon themselves. They eventually took the role of policing the streets temporarily because the police were overwhelmed and yes they did fire upon looters, but again, justifiable since it was to protect someones private property. There have been a few cases where the guard has been rolled out for various riots that have occurred in our country, but people forget, that the only times the guard has been authorized to shot is when *they* have been fired upon first. For some reason, people think that the guard shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves from an attacking foe. For example, if I were to fire upon a guard member, I'd fully expect for them to return fire. Why? Because I'm a threat to their life and the lives of those around them.
The realistic uniforms protocols and over all how they operate is so fuckin cool and refreshing rather than the fuckwads in TWD and other shit where they have no masks no tactics and no Aim. Here they have a very clear containment plan and they leave orderly and swiftly just like that and of course theres gonna be Dhs or Cia spooks riding around like in the movie.
Why must the military be seen as oppressive? From their point of view, they are trying to stop a deadly virus from spreading to other parts of the country. The 2010 remake scared me and also made me think: "Maybe a virus like this would be a possibility?" I mean think about this: a lot of human beings around the world have emotions or even other personality disorders that can actualy make them do something so horrific, that a virus like in the movie The Crazies can be strong enough, that it can destroy all the good parts of the human brain and turn them into phsycotic killing machines. A lot of people can have violent tendecies and if they wanted, they could unleash them if they choose to do so, only our strong part or the good side of our brain can hold these kind of actions back and also our good emotional states. Romero was always a master of making all the characters seem important and more importantly, real, whether it was a character in one scene or the main character.
Gabriel Clarke The 2010 version is an absolute Masterpiece at least I think so. No matter how many times I’ve seen this movie or how many times I will continue to watch it, I will ALWAYS Love this💯💯🖤♥️
I remember watching this film. It was scary! The crazies brutally kill people.. rescuing the girl from being poked by a trident and seeing all the 'rescued' villagers burnt bodies
That lab technician never gets tired of *being right* about the events in Romero movies. Too bad nobody ever listens to him. But he looked more badass with the eye patch on... ;-)

Daniel Masterson That’s funny. The Bay is a chain of department stores in Canada. Owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company, the world’s oldest existing company which started as fur traders. But I’m imagining the parasite from the department store.
I personally agree with the military heavy handling of the outbreak in the remake, screening has failed its best to assume everyone not in the military is infected and to cleanse the town.
Saw this movie in the theater and at the end I just sat motionless staring at the screen until everyone else had left. Didn’t get any huge reactions but I saw a few people look back at me as they walked out. 😂
Haha I thought she was no older than 20 and assumed she was his daughter. But you are right the actress who plays her, Christie Lynn Smith, is in her 40s so she must be the wife and the kids mother lol. What a good looking woman :)
Wait... Ogden Marsh is a town over and the original had an infected escape the original town, so the 2010 movie could be a sequel instead of a remake. It would be a great remake but this fact alone sort of eludes to the entire 2010 Crazies being a continuation of the original... KOOL! I never realized that detail, even though I have both at home.
Timothy Olyphant was my favorite actor for like 5 years lol it seems like he had a "peak" and then slowly started to fade since he was in the Hawaiian Vacation thriller back in the 2010's (ish) with Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich called "A Perfect Getaway." (That everyone should see.)
He focused his time on his TV shows, Justified (2010-2015), Santa Clarita Diet (2017-2019) and had other small TV and movie roles during that decade. A Perfect Getaway was released in 2009 and is indeed a brilliant film. Tim Olyphant is still my favorite actor. Pitifully underrated
The 2010 "The Crazies" movie was great, but I personally thought the title of the film was what killed it. Cause back in 2010 when I saw the commercials for the movie I said "The Crazies?!?! That sounds like they ran out of names for movies, ehh I'm not seeing that sounds desperate and boring." Years later when I saw it on spike tv I was totally wrong that movie was crazy scary or very unsettling.

What I love best in Romero remakes is the drop of focus on the human condition and shift to straight horror. Romero is an icon, for sure. I just don't care for thinly veiled messages about how we're all people and should treat each other better.
I prefer the original because of two factors one was the unknown factor when it came to guessing who infected. What I mean is there are scenes where people are panicking and is it the virus or just fear from the military? I also love David's decision to keep quiet he is immune as a F you to the military and government for what they did to his wife, friends, and town.
ForsakenGaming 👏 I really liked that movie and this is the first time I've seen someone mention it in a comments section. Starting to think I was alone in my adoration of it.

The way the dad whistles nonanchantly after burning the house down, killing his wife and young son is so brilliantly depraved
This is how to make a remake proper
I would really love a sequel showing what happens in Cedar Rapids
That lab technician never gets tired of *being right* about the events in Romero movies. Too bad nobody ever listens to him. But he looked more badass with the eye patch on... ;-)
I thought that's who that was when I first seen this video. Nice.
this is the most wholesome comment section i've ever seen
Very underrated actor and movie
Yes to both!!
I agree that the two movies are great on their own. You'll never get crazy for watching these.
Dude I absolutely loved the 2010 version so much. But I haven't seen the original.
TheConservative Juggalo I agree💯! The Crazies is such an Amazing movie. I love this movie so much!
And you wouldn’t want to see the original, my man
@@florants6214 agreed, the crazies remake completely owned the original
I enjoyed the remake so much, I saw it twice in theaters. That pitchfork..... ugh.....
more virus videos!
This film should not be in a zombie film list , but in a separate category with the likes of Quarantine n 28 days later
Man I love these virus videos another one well done, thank you!
Thanks Michael!
most of their videos are like 7 minutes but this one was longer. i appreciate they do this genuinely because they love this films and not as a monetary network keep it up !
You should do the parasite from The Bay
I'll add that to the list Daniel :)
Yes 👏
Daniel Masterson That’s funny. The Bay is a chain of department stores in Canada. Owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company, the world’s oldest existing company which started as fur traders.
But I’m imagining the parasite from the department store.
The Bay is about a town infested by mutant isopods. Many people die, military takes over, survivors leave and the mutant Isopods are left unresolved.
I personally agree with the military heavy handling of the outbreak in the remake, screening has failed its best to assume everyone not in the military is infected and to cleanse the town.
Don't forget, Radha Mitchell is essentially the queen of sci-fi movies. She is fucking amazing as a support/main character.
Being from Cedar Rapids, Iowa this movie scared the hell out of me when it came out
Reminds me of crossed .... Please do another crossed video
Idk why I love rewatching this video. Your videos are all very well made.
Epic Video
cheers YuniSAO :)
This was a great remake. I would love to see a sequel.
Saw this movie in the theater and at the end I just sat motionless staring at the screen until everyone else had left. Didn’t get any huge reactions but I saw a few people look back at me as they walked out. 😂
Love your videos mate
The remake is my all time favourite horror movie because it’s not only scary but could easily happen .
The remake is one of my favourite films of all time.
The ending after credit scene is that like supposed to be a sequel. It would be badass to see a sequel in a huge city. And how did it get to the city
Really enjoyed the video! Great job! Did want to quickly mention though that at 7:05, it’s actually the wife/son duo who bring their husband/dad in.
Haha I thought she was no older than 20 and assumed she was his daughter. But you are right the actress who plays her, Christie Lynn Smith, is in her 40s so she must be the wife and the kids mother lol. What a good looking woman :)
i love this channel
Love this movie! The remake was filmed in my hometown🤗
Man the crazies still gives chills.
i love "The Crazies" its one of my favorite films list
Same!
I love this remake so much. So underappreciated.
It is the most reallife zombie scenario in my opinion
Whoa.....I had no idea there was an original......I wanna watch that one now.
Year 2020, I'm here because of the Corona virus plaguing our nation. Finding virus movies!😨😳
Spooky...How does it gets you.
In reality virus make us confuse, that is how it bites.
Oh wait...so the remake is actually a sequel? "Set in the nearby town of Ogden Marsh." That's awesome!
So it's like the virus from the anime Higurashi.
it's scary how well this films aged
It's eerie how simular this virus is with The Crossed Virus.
I love the remake, it's one of my favorite horror movies. I wished they had made a sequel to it with the next town looking like it was going to get quarantined.
Damn that last scene, wasn't she the pregnant woman?
GoldenTV3 no. It was the pregnant wives friend
@@TopRivers She was pregnant too lmao
Yay im watching virus stuff while waiting for covid test to come back
Rip The Legend George Andrew Romero😭✌🏻
USA in movies: We will stop the virus
USA in reality: We will help the virus
The great and powerful TRIXIE!
I remember when this movie came out it wasn't that popular, just another passing movie of that year. It was an amusing movie.
Don't forget about the virus from "The girl with all the gifts" ;)
Weeb I’m reading that book right now!!
I havent forgotten :) theres a huge list haha
Weeb nice plus nice name
ChillBill 2004 Thanks random guy.
God damn this is so hard
Great video as always, glad to see this channel growing and how overwhelmingly positive it is! Film comics explained has to have some of the least toxic comment sections of youtube
Thanks Jonathan! Yes the community is fantastic and I am grateful for that :)
+FilmComicsExplained no problem amigo!
Noice
Feels kind of like early Resident Evil games in a way
How come old movies can be turned into like 4k resolution movies, it always was weird to me how cameras back than could capture that kind of definition but unable for them to view it,
Watched both these movies for the first time year before last, thanks for your take on Trixie.
Great job! And yea I really liked this movie, not gonna lie I liked the remake more than the original
I got a strange ad today. It was trying to sell beds. I almost came out my skin when it went from the narrator’s calm and soft demeanor to an ad at least 3 times louder. I was certainly not interested in sleeping any time soon after that. 🙃
Did Peter call?
What I love best in Romero remakes is the drop of focus on the human condition and shift to straight horror. Romero is an icon, for sure. I just don't care for thinly veiled messages about how we're all people and should treat each other better.
Do the flair from the maze runner series
its on the list already!! :)
FilmComicsExplained your actually going to do it! Awesome!!!
Both the remake and the original are great
I prefer the original because of two factors one was the unknown factor when it came to guessing who infected. What I mean is there are scenes where people are panicking and is it the virus or just fear from the military? I also love David's decision to keep quiet he is immune as a F you to the military and government for what they did to his wife, friends, and town.
Original was great, but I love the 2010 version, it's definitely one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
Movie: the trixie virus
Real life: the coronavirus
I love this movie. I'm a sucker for these virus/zombie movies and this is one of my favorite movies of the genre.
Can you please do the virus from re kill my 3rd favourite zombie film after 28days later and land of the dead
ForsakenGaming 👏 I really liked that movie and this is the first time I've seen someone mention it in a comments section. Starting to think I was alone in my adoration of it.
Danielle Vaughn omg I've found my kind I felt the same its never mentioned or talked about
I love your videos about classic horror movies. Keep up the great horror-related content.
thanks champ!
