The most horrifying thing in this footage is the fact that he has apples in his inventory, even though apples weren't obtainable in Beta 1.5 (or 1.5_01). The only way to get apples in this era was by killing Notch, so does that mean the uploader was playing with Notch? xD
The book in the chest titled gift is noted as being written by „created of cavegame”, who in turn is also notch.

Minecraft can be really creepy when you think your not alone in your single player world. I once had a single player world, i think it was version 1.8, where something really weird happened. I had made myself a home and farmed full iron gear. I was pretty new to the game so I didnt know how to get diamonds. One day I loged into my world and somehow all my chests where empty and I had no items despite the ones in my inventory. It creeped the hell out of me because I thought someone must have stolen my items. It was propably some storage related issue on my old PC, but I was way to young to understand it.

Probably an issue with updating versions or Minecraft/ windows updates. Still better than cave sounds however.
I got the same issue on one of my worlds but my house got damaged while the was unloaded. I had no internet connection during that.
Not single-player, but a few months ago me and my best friend started a survival world. There were literally no animals or monsters at night. All we had to eat was sweet berries, since it was a taiga forest. Since she was the host of the world, I asked her if she messed with the settings. She genuinely didn’t.
We got creeped out and deleted the world. Definitely a glitch, but weird. Just wanted to share my disturbing experience

Yeah, there's a lot of these Beta Minecraft ARG's which all copy the same format of normal beginning, slight weirdness, then big creepy jumpscare, turns into either a supernatural plot or some kind of science experiment
additionally they all completely ignore the fact that it's still happening inside of a videogame, meaning that the person playing usually takes the game as seriously as if they were actually inside the game. It's like "oh no minecraft is weird and there's spooky occurences, i am terrified for my life, i hope i do not die" instead of "oh wow this beta mc version is real weird, i should post this to reddit or something"

@@ultraflopp2802 the first is a greek letter sigma (which as wifies says is used to represent sum in math, so is used for jokes as a subsitute for the word some), the second is a clock symbol which the original commenter thinks might be theta, though the symbol is actually a clock symbol.

and no the symbol used here is a clock symbol, fonts will all render the greek symbol looking like Θ/θ (upper and then lowercase). although there is an alternate character for a "fancier" version, ϑ, but thats not shown either its the clock symbol

Minecraft is not just a game for spending time with friends building, creating... But a horror game and I too had a bit of a strange experience. After a long time I decided to install Minecraft again on my PS4, in addition to downloading it, I had to update it to the latest version but I preferred to play the old one and it was, if I'm not mistaken, 1.10, I was in the desert and was chilling quietly at a certain point I turn around and see a shape like Steve's, after 2 seconds it disappears, it wasn't a zombie because it didn't have its arms raised then it wasn't a skeleton because you could see it was thicker and it wasn't a creeper because you could see its arms very well. I didn't see well what it was but it was night and the entity was obscured, I didn't see white eyes... just an entity that stared at me and disappeared in a very short time. Now I don't believe in Herobrine, Null, Entity 303 but after this I had some doubts. Given what happened I uninstalled Minecraft but now I want to find out what's behind it. It wasn't a mod and I was playing alone, I hope you enjoyed the story.

Found a new favorite genre of videos. Creepy Minecraft footage.
At 15:30, the recipes unlocked toast actually showed the campfire, soul campfire, and crossbow!

Its a latin/greek (idk) word that was used in the ancient rone and means administrator of a power, factor (in general) superintendent, prefect of Rome, was a manager, supervisor or overseer.

I think that maybe "Vilicus" in this story is some kind of evil spirit that wants to maybe rule something and make players his own.

I think the mystery to be solved here is that the Mojang developers in 2011 were really good at their jobs and pumped out new features by the day. It didn’t like this, however, and soon they were corrupted into the ours players. Unfortunately, all of the Mojang developers had been corrupted, but there was a silver lining. Having so many features to keep updating the game, Mojang created a precise schedule of one year for every feature to be added. This explains all the recent features we saw in beta 1.5_03. Soon, there will be no more features to be added and this game will be lost in memory.

Correcting this video: The "water going crazy" at 2:20 is actually normal, this happens when a (mob) enters water it starts to go up and down making a splash noise over and over again at 1:54 those black blocks are actually render blocks this happens commonly in beta & alpha 3:07 The reason why he gets the advancedment now is because if you go back to the start of this vid he was on beta 1.5 and now he is on beta 1.5_01. Thats it everything else he said is right

It is funny because a large amount of horrifying footage may use normal, calm, Minecraft music. The creepy scenarios with the normal music sort of gives a sense of that it could happen to someone real, just listening to the music in Minecraft and then you see... yeah

Very minor, but regarding the Benchmarking achievement bit, that's actually not all that confusing. Achievements from older versions of Minecraft worked in a very strict order. If you did not have the previous achievement, you would not get the next one. And even if you accomplished the goal for an achievement, if you did not have the previous achievement when you did so, it would not count later, you'd have to redo it. As a simple example, the first achievement was received for opening your inventory, the second for getting wood. If you did not open your inventory once before punching down a tree, you did not get either achievement. When you later opened your inventory, you would get that first achievement, and then the next time you picked up wood (the dropped items, not moving them from a chest or something), you would get the achievement for that, and so on.
As a result, it was very common for people to never get the majority of the achievements in a single world, especially if they were not a new player. The first few achievements were, in order, for opening your inventory (a chest doesn't count), picking up a wood block (the dropped item, not taken from a chest), then crafting a Crafting Table. So what would people commonly do? Start a new world, punch down a tree or two, then open their inventory, craft a Crafting Table, then start making tools. But guess what? Because you got the wood before opening your inventory, you would not get the achievement for getting wood. Then you finally opened your inventory, getting that first achievement, and made a Crafting Table. The next time you chop down a tree, you finally get the achievement for getting wood... And then you stop getting achievements. Because you already crafted a Crafting Table. Why would you craft a new one? And it was specifically for pulling a Crafting Table from the crafting results slot of your inventory or a Crafting Table.
The achievement issues just got worse past that third achievement or if you started in a village and stole a Crafting Table from one of the houses, or if you got the Bonus Chest for your first bit of wood and tools.
So... There's the simple explanation. The achievement is for crafting a Crafting Table, and it can only be cleared after getting the achievement for getting wood, which in turn had to be a dropped bit of wood after your first time opening your inventory. He grabbed wood before first opening his inventory, then made a Crafting Table before getting more wood, and never made a second Crafting Table until that point. It was a very common problem, just watch almost any sort of let's play or survival series pre 1.12 and you'll see a lot of different UA-camrs freaking out at Minecraft or making fun of it because 30 episodes in it said they finally made a Crafting Table or a Furnace, or they'd craft a Diamond Pickaxe and only then get rewarded for making their first pickaxe. I know in terms of modded Minecraft, some packs with quests had a similar issue even until rather recently, seeing people going through a pack trying to do all of the quests and getting angry because the questbook wouldn't give them their reward for making end game modded gear because they never got the quest for making a Crafting Table, usually for the same reason as the Vanilla achievements, and they'd either miss out on the reward or have to go back and redo everything.

I remember intentionally doing this in earlier versions, because I found the achievements annoying. I'd spawn with a bonus chest for nothing other than the chest, so I could have something to rearrange my inventory without opening it, then run till I found a village with a crafting bench.

In regards to the unscrambling at the end, I can maybe assume that the dot and the dash would be put after console judging by the patterns of the comments Nick has left. http would obviously be at the start, www. at the end. Ours isn't possible because there isn't enough 'o's in the code unless one of the other words is wrong (one 'o' was used twice - for ours and .com)
If ours is incorrect, that gives us three extra letters to play with. Using the remaining scrambled letters, I found some words that might work (no guarantee these are any use):
- Trustable
- Tutelars (meaning guardian/protector - could be a reference to Vil)
- Abutter (meaning the owner of contiguous property, contiguous refers to sharing a common border, which could be a notion towards the 'us and them' dynamic)

- Rulable
- Bleak

My scariest Minecraft experience was when I was 9. I played for a long time in my first survival world, and after long hours I finally obtained my first diamond pickaxe, which I never used and was stored in a chest in my base. One day when I was on holiday, I opened this world and not after long, I noticed some blocks were broken in my base, so I entered it and checked it out. I walked into the bedroom and was eye in eye with some random player. He just stood there, with my pickaxe. At the time I did not know that multiplayer existed, and he must’ve joined my world via the fact that we were on the same WiFi, but it still shook me up pretty bad
I know this very likely has nothing to do with anything, but based on the way Wifies described Nick as just casually going along with everything happening instead of freaking out, it reminded me of Nick from The Great Gatsby, who, throughout the entire book, just went along with everything that happened instead of deciding to do the right thing and point out the flaws in what the people he followed were doing. Two people named Nick, both just going along with whatever situation they end up in without trying to get out of it... I finished reading Gatsby in english class recently I couldn't help myself :p
not great with codebreaking (and only slightly better with word unscrambling), just wanted to point out; if you don't include the "" as part of the string already solved (since there isn't a colon in the string, like you mentioned), you can unscramble the remaining characters to get the word "attempt" with the letters "ltbklh" remaining. unsure if that's actually helpful to anyone, sorry if it isnt. great vid ^^

I'd say this is actually pretty helpful! Not mind-blowingly so, but it could speed up the process quite a bit, especially if it's in the right direction. It certainly saves a lot of trouble with random combinations of letters when we can be pretty confident of a solid chunk of them
I'd also like to add that you could probably include the "www." and possibly even ".com" if you want to scramble the rest for giggles

The Axe having so much attack speed is a clue that this is indeed NOT any beta version rather a newer one pretending to be an old onr with many mods and texture packs. If you /attribute a player an insane amount of attack speed or use a mod all your tools get that number of attack speed and it creates a similar expirience to the old combat system with almost no cooldown. Although the cooldown indicator will still shortly show up below your crosshair this can be prevented by making a custom texture pack and earasing the textures for the cooldown indicator in the gui texture files

For some reason in new recipes unlocked there was soul fire campfire, which was added in 1.16. scary
13:42 i think the second symbol might mean "a quarter" since it looks like 1/4 of a block so using 1/4 of older version they made a new one

This kinda reminds of the strange story of Markus, but this one is not really that complex yet really good, has very cool details.
Now i really want to make a Mod pack in old MC version about these Amazing theories and not about some Cave Dweller or Man from the fog it's scary, but does not surprise you with anything new and becomes annoying after certain time but these stories if they were somehow made in game will have great amount of variety and always will surprise you with something new like just a simple Herobrine mod, you have structes, events, possed mobs you name it.
