Im amazed no one brought up that in some stories, Superman's cape is the blanket he was wrapped in his space ship. Velvet texturing and being short certainly fits the bill.
It looks off in a lot of little details but one big one is that the shoulders of the suit don’t seem fitted, which makes it look like he’s not buff enough for the suit.
The whole concept of Supe actually sliding his feet into his superboots is really throwing me off... Like he's getting ready to go jump in some puddles.
Just wondering, Grace, have you ever seen the Donner cut of Superman II? If not, there's a scene in there where Lois is attempting to prove that Clark is Superman and realizing he's been found out, his body language completely changes and he goes from Clark Kent to Superman without changing clothes. It's really impressively acted by Reeve, since it's done without any words and he's only using his stance and face to convey the difference between Clark and Superman.
The motorcycle jacket style torso may take some time to get used to. That's very Star Lord/Guardians. It may look alright in action. Other than oddly looking AI generated, I think it lacks looking cinematic for some reason. But it could be I'm used to the Richard Donner's visual style of Superman, it's hard to imagine anything else as identifiably "Superman". It definitely feels more like a photo shoot than them filming a scene from the movie. Maybe that's why.
I actually believe the narrative in the picture is that with in a world were heroes already exist, Lex Luthor maybe did some considerable damage to the image of Superman being a new heroe in the world, so when everyone is struggling to fight that Beam in the background Superman realizes that he has to go because he wants to help even when maybe the world doesn’t believe in him.
