Sun Tou Tou is an orphan in her twenties. One day, she gets into trouble while fighting injustice. Ren Xin Zheng, a professor at the University of Chinese Medicine, comes to her aid and learns her life story. Professor Ren accepts her into the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) course to give her a fresh start in life. Sun Tou Tou accepts the challenge to learn under Ren Xin Zheng and eventually inherits his family's TCM practice.
Professor Ren's son, Tian Zhen, is a classmate she dislikes for causing her some difficulties. The quest of gaining knowledge is challenging enough without the added generation gap between students and lecturers. Maturing, she persists and finds herself taken with traditional medicine.
Tou Tou and Tian Zhen become closer as they learn to understand and empathize with each other. Tou Tou, her classmates, and their lecturers can now begin to follow their dreams.

Zhao Lusi was meant for this role they couldn't have made a better selection. She is perfect.
honestly felt like they wrote the role with her in mind! She has a chaotic bubbly nature irl too and has the energy to bring to this kind of character.
It’s great how Tou Tou knows exactly when to assert her authority by calling her Master “ nephew” when it came to giving Li Quan the opportunity of a job! Even “ her niece in law” and Tian Zhen smiled !!
Tianzchen wants his father to treat him as he's treating Lusi but he's not getting that and I can feel for him
He isn't the worth of that treatment yet. He needs to grow up. Lusi is more mature than him, it's just she hides her sadness and loneliness behind that silliness.

Try to understand their culture..this is Chinese drama,so naturally, it’s Chinese culture..it’s their culture and we have no right to question wether he deserves to be his father yada yada..he isn’t abusive but very vocal about his son’s weaknesses which is a family member should do instead of sugarcoating his words which we do to outsiders..he’s a son and the only child for that, the heir of their legacy..he needs to be mature and consider things outside the box.it’s what made his father got mad when he almost killed that girl due to his impulsiveness and not going for a further assessment before administering treatment..it happened again with the little girl when he only concluded that she has fever without giving complete assessment as to why she has fever..
All the actors and actress in GENZ well done. Value, moral lesson. Discernment, respect, differences , significance, family value, love, fighting spirit are all in one here in this series. This really brings you to widen your knowledge not to be forgotten. Hope people watching this series put it into your heart . Sense the conversation and you can feel deeply within very touching.
when toutou was trying to mediate tianzhen and liquan'a argument I was laughing. this is what I have hated in dramas, get to the point to avoid and argument and she said exactly what I was thinking ahahaha. my darling lusi's line delivery was also on point. seeing her growth as an actor has been amazing. I have seen nearly all her dramas and she was never a bad actor but her growth and maturity has been really standout.
lusi switching between Cantonese and Sichuan dialect in the drama has me rolling on the floor AHAAHAHA
Ren Tianzhen so kind and sincere to his friend 💚 he was the one who first suggested for his friend to work at their place and continue to study at the same time. He has been helping his friend so much by finding places for him to stay for free and giving him some of his own pocket money. 💚

His name is Luo Yizhou! He just graduated from the The Central Academy of Drama and acted in many theatrical plays.
He is also a very talented dancer who has been dancing since 11 years old and a lead dancer who graduated from The Military and Cultural Institute of National Defense University dance department. He also joined an idol show called Youth with You 3 where he was praised by Blackpink Lisa for his dancing skills and he then debuted as Center position.
