Kemmler was brought back to life by the chaos gods for entertainment and krell is an undead chaos lord so it makes sense chaos is kinda ok with him Also kemmler infinite necros and skelly bois was my favorite campaign
I think zombies are way more OP now. They get the Hunger thanks to the retinue, +100% battle healing cap on top of what Kemmler already provides, ridiculous HP and 20% PR. And they're the cheapest. Blob up your zombies, put Kemmler in the middle with Chaos tombblade + corpse carts. You'll never even need to cast Nehek it's fucking ridiculous. You literally need nothing else. I'm honestly not sure Kemmler even needs his scythe boys he's so famous for.
@@TheVoodooMaker yeah but I’m going to go zombies I’ll just play helman. Your right I could do basically the same with 10 upkeep zombies and necromancers or corpse carts it was just my favorite game in tw2. Now I feel like kemmler is just lower quality compared to other vampire count options
@@teddys5775 yes but Ghorst doesn't have Krell and his geography is less interesting. oh and 4. i think they still absolutely suck at firing while docked on battlements, to the point where even gunners are better off left "near" dockable areas
Heinrich Kemmler is actually one of my favorite campaigns. I didn’t really like it at first but it’s really grown on me now that I know the best way to go about playing it. I took out all of the Bretonnians fairly easily. In a strange turn of events, I ended up killing Grom on 3 separate lords unintentionally. I went through the campaign and ended up becoming military allies with Yvresse, Eataine and Avelorn 😂
yeah and with the lahmia bloodline the high elf really like you, just dont go make friend with their enemies since you are friendly with chaos, undead and skaven.
Kemmlers my Favourite Vampire LL I just like the fact he has a lot of necromancers early on and u can just spam the raise dead spell because its so cheap to cast and also having good cairn and hexwraiths is very nice I like those units a lot
Do you think you might go back to some of your first campaign reviews and expand them as you have the more recent ones? I'd be particularly interested in an expanded Skarbrand review, because I can't seem to get a solid start with him in IE
If it helps for skarbrand territory is temporary, you can literally just nope out in a direction and just raze as you go and migrate to an easier to defend location before you start empire building.
You can also use the cult mechanic. Which one of the options is to teleport Skarbrand to the cult. Options can pop up in the Northern section of the map (near valkia or the minor khorne faction). Factions there won't hate you any where near as much and gives you a map boundary to work from abd expand out.
Heinrich Kemmler can actually get his winds of magic cost for Winds of death down to 7 if you get all the right skills. He already starts with 10% reduced cost, lowering it to 11, then upgrading WoD itself lowers it to 9, then getting his last skill in his magic line lowers it to 7.
One of the best thing for Kemmler is his banner for zombies, they can regenerate in melee. You can transfer this banner by unequip it from him and equip to other lords. It is especially good in the early game, zombies can tank while you killing the enemy
@@Spazz4170 i mean you need capacity and time to transfer hero to the army, you can't have luxury to fill up your best army, enemy won't wait for your doomstack to appear. In that case you would really need that banner. It can be transferred multiple times on the same turn from one lord to the other and save your cities, your money and your time
Since CA is taking the "legendary heroes" route, I hope they will make Krell into a legendary hero at some point, a separate entity with unique skill lines instead of just a summon
The +10 relationship with Chaos dint do shit for me, Be'lakor declared war on me almost inmediately after taking out Louen Leoncoeur, and so did N'kari. Both of them (+ Be'lakor's norscan minion) would actively send armies making me go back north to defend, such a pain in the ass. I had to go all the way to Albion as well as Ulthuan to put an end to their bullshit. Good thing is I've become allies with all 3 elven factions in Ulthuan as well as Ikit Claw, after that I eliminated the Wod Elves and took on the Empire, I even turned Karl Franz into my vassal.
Kemmler definitely is a very powerful lord and the beginning is super easy, but the difficulty sort of creeps up on you once you get later into this campaign. The thing about playing as Heinrich Kemmler is that your surrounded by people that hate you on all sides. If your not careful, or just unlucky, you'll end up fighting brettonia, the empire, green skins, and possibly even the elves all at once, which is an incredibly difficult situation to deal with. Its almost a requirement to farm Grom's defeat trait (+10 relations with all Elves) at least 2 or 3 times to make sure that the elves dont declare war on you.
Just played a Kemmler campaign yesterday. The beginning was ridiculously steamrolly. Necromancer heroes were a dime a dozen, zombies were almost free and came by the truckload, hiring multiple armies and fill them with chaff was effortless. Racking up Blood Kisses with hero actions allowed me to send parties of 1 Necromancer Lord, 1 Strigoi Ghoul-King that could wreak havoc all by himself. Krell was a one-man army, and could goon any Hero or Lord, or tarpit blobs of infantry forever. Louen Leoncoueur never knew what hit him. The problem came later. I found myself in the middle of a region absolutely surrounded by enemies. The Fay Enchantress and Grom to the south, all of Athel Loren to the east, and all of the Empire to the north. Without access to the Underway stance, dealing with the mountains that separate Bretonnia from the Empire was hellish when I was being attacked from both sides of the mountain chain. Also, for all of the Chaos diplomatic bonuses Kemmler enjoys - N'kari is just across the pont and has an unbridgeable -100 Aversion penalty for him, and *will* abandon Ulthuan to invade you if you ever make contact.
Ya, I just tried. It was fine for the first 20 turns. Then BAM!!! A random rogue AI army spawns right next to my capital with 8 Beastmen heroes, hellpit abominations, beasts of nurgle etc and destroy all of my settlements. I say, fine and restart the campaign. This time I dont march straight for Couronne and go towards the Orks. Then a again by turn 20, two huge wood elf armies march out of their forest and declare war and start takikg my settlements. I restart AGAIN. This time I play more reserved in an effort not to agrivate the AI and take settlements from Britonnia at a slow but decent pace while building up.... BOOM!!! The orks from the south march with muliple armies with full WAAAGH armies accompanying them... I think very recently some devs decided to extremely buff the difficulty on Heinrich's campaign. Because I was just playing on normal and it is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
I somehow managed to Confederate the Red Duke and Vassalize the Taslyn and gave them the whole forest so they cover my Southern Borders. Its really nice that they are vassalized too. Ranged units when I want and their tribute money is amazing. I also killed Belakor so I was reasonably safe up North. Then I went on an all out blitzkrieg war with pretty much every single Empire Faction. Successfully baited the Emperor himself with an ambush too. After that ambush I pretty much steamrolled the entire empire. Now Im cleaning up the remnants of Kislev and forming a front against the Dwarves east of Vlad. Im hoping he will confederate with me eventually but he is pretty powerful himself.
DON'T!! The devs made his campaign nearly impossible now. Everything he talked about in this video is not up to date. He said it himself, it's not his favorite faction. So I highly doubt he has played the Barrow legion anytime recently. If you B-line it to Couronne. An AI army of ungodly proportions spawns next to your capital within turn 15. They raze EVERYTHING!!! If you decide to takes things slow and raze breatonnia near you. The wood elfs come with two high teir armies, the orks also come the south and you still have to deal with finishing Britonnia. Trust me, I have tried loke 8 different strategies on NORMAL difficulty and it can't be done. There is some dev in CA that recently just decided to hate Heinrich Kemmler 😢
I like the idea of Krell having his own skill tree and all that but being able to use him in every battle regardless of if he "dies" might be more powerful depending on what they replace on Kemmler's tree if they remove the Krell line
Did they fix his campaign? I Played him several times in October, and n'kari would declare war on me as soon as he saw me. Be'lakor would declare war on me around turn 14 or 15 as if he was programmed to do it, lol. He and his vassal would be over in my shit two turns later. It's kinda annoying. It keeps me in that area to defend it. Grom is going to declare war around that time as well. He is fun to play, but I stopped because I'm waiting for them to fix that.
Surprised there wasnt any mention of the dwarfs next to starting location in karak ziflin, in wh2 advice was to take them out quickly, is everything so easy in wh3 that you can ignore them in first 20 turns ?
i think early game he is extremely easy you snowball pretty hard, but i think fighting siege battles against specific races like lizard men once you leave the continent can be difficult and autoresolve doesnt usually favour you with trash units even with higher tier units into any armies with ranged or armored units you have to manually fight them and spam coy and wod. krell is on another level hes free you have 21 units. its annoying to have to disband/trade specific armies for other ones if you need to fight on multiple fronts, alot of vc units are straight up garbage and it kind of sucks that he has a buff to probably some of the worst units in terms of utility for example skeleton spearmen are super cheap and very effective against cav and can get perfect vigor and decent melee defence, zombies have super high health and alot of entities and can hold down melee infantry for your monsters or heroes to attack, kairn wraiths and hex wraiths are ok at dealing with dwarves very early on but they cannot stand toe to toe with any units even against trash they trade like shit, they have physical resist but no armor and low melee defense relative to their tier unless you specifically go out of your way to buff them they are trash, hex wraiths are decentish but you have to micro them, i think bats are way better to deal with empire or bretonian arty or ranged units bc you can set it and forget it, they are a disposable problem that you send to their backline.
What I didnt get is your reference to Wind of Death, did they revert some change to it? Cause when I first fired it up it was complete garbage compared to TW Warhammer 2, making it more viable to save magic for Neheks. Ergo is it even worth using Wind of Death in Warhammer 3? Cause it seemed better to use a vampire with shadow magic for damage dealing.
The decision to change it really confuses me. Current one makes the trait so much weaker. Even if he is in foreign region, untainted attrition will always overrule replenishment. If it's foreign and vampire corruption, the trait still doesn't matter, because V-corruption gives replenishment. I might be wrong, but WH3 version trait just seems useless..? Someone give me any situation where it's actually good.
@Aerowixx as he was the only "human" vc lord if you can call him that lol. Half the time the replenishment on foreign territory never works anyway. Like channeling stances that have it etc etc
I play total warhammer 2 and loved playing markus campaign, liked how you had to stay active and questing also accumulating instant recruit army units. What other campaigns can you suggest for me to play next? TW warhammer3 included.
Strange how you didnt mention the dwarf next to you and that your starting province settlements are separated, also the empire to the north wood elf will declare war and grom also. Funny is that the high elf will like you based on your action and also with first item quest you will teleport down south meeting vamp coast and skaven, easy allies. Same for norscan and chaos but you have to decide which bunch to side with because the other dont like who you are friend with.
I know you’ve probably approached this subject to death on livestreams, but I would love to see a breakdown of what you want to see changed to each faction to elevate them in your personal view. Personally the VC are my favorite faction but I absolutely understand why they turn a lot of people off, I’d like to see a more in depth analysis of what you don’t like about them and what in your view would be the best way to improve them while keeping their core integrity, for example with the VC how would you improve them whilst keeping the importance of lords and heroes and spells at the expense of military units. At the very least if people bug you about it on stream or anywhere else there’s now a video that outlines all of it
Heinrich Kemmlar was my recent campaign and I had a lot of fun. Load up Save Friendly Mod, CTrait Manager, and start your Heinrich campaign up - Force March toward the Red Duke on turn 1, don't even fight the battle, end turn, force march toward the Red Duke - In 2 turns, you can check if Red Duke is whatever trait, through CTrait Manager. I did the same for Kairos Faithweaver and Sathrorel the watcher - First turn, force march Kairos north, check Sathrorel's stats, restart the campaign until desired results. My personal favourite in these regards is the Strong trait for laziness. I don't feel like shifting through the 50+ unique traits on what's META and whatnot, so I sometimes lazily settle for Strong.
kemmler crashes for me all of the time - it's the only campaign that does this and I cannot figure out why. also, several siege maps around brettonia are bugged and do not allow summons
a way to bypass this issue it to click on your caster in order to summon units. Won't be bogging down archers, but you can at least summon Krell or a short term front line.
I can't wait to see what you do for boris's campaign, d-rush arguing and take him out early like I do? Do you relocate like others recommend? Do u do something else?
Kemmler just needs a little something to make him more interesting imo, like a little flavor to his faction. Maybe add spirit hosts to the raise dead pool for Barrow Legion like the woodland creatures for Drycha? Spirit hosts get mentioned a lot but wouldn't really bring much to the VC roster besides flavor, this could be a fun way to add them in and make Kemmler more unique.
Love his campaign. Turn 67 on Legendary and I practically have the entire Empire territories under my grasp. Killing nKari and going to Ulthuan for a bit helps improve relations with the High Elves. In this campaign I turned Allarielle into my vassal by taking Nkari's settlements and seeling them back to her. Took ages to confed Vlad. For the first parts of his campaign I always take out Artois by turn 2. By turn 4 the dwarves in your mountain range are gone, and this leaves you with options. Finish off the Bretts, go to the Forest with those pesky trees, deal with the Empire, etc. Also Belakor doesn't like you after sa bit. But his trait is pretty good for vampire armies. Also Heinrich's unique sword the Chaos Tomb Blade is amazing.
I just came back to the game so these reviews are great. Kinda crazy, in TW2 his diplomacy bonus with Norsca and Demons were pretty meh, but now it seems pretty useful.
In my campaigns a few patches ago, I was actually able to make a non-aggression pact with one of the bordering Bretonnian minors near me, I think the one to the South. They got taken out pretty quickly, but it allowed me to tackle Louen aggressively.
Im currently playing Kemmler with the mods that allowing cairn wraiths and banshees to fly (like ghosts) and another that makes Hex wraiths to transverse between units without colision (like true spirits) oh boy its the most fun campaign I had played recently
Kemmler is probably the best Vampire Count character to build a powerful tactical army with. Blood Kisses can give him 3 ranged units, and relations with Chaos can be used to get allied units that fill in gaps in the roster like ranged skirmish cavalry and high armour troops.
I usually kill the starting army of Artois I think and than go strait back raise dead to overwhelm the dwarfs in your territory. Before they are able to recruit a lot or build bigger walls. Than hop arround and conquer altdorf.... Pretty easy that way 🤔 but I think I only play on hard so... Anyways hope we get a rework soon. Simulacras for him and maybe krell as a hero... And maybe a buff to wraiths atm they feel pretty bad to me them having only 50% physical resist totally takes their specialty away.
I legit thought you said Heinrich Himmler instead of Kemmler and I had to kinda do a double take. I do guess Himmler would fit into the Warhammer world.
Trying to play Heinrich Kemmler game keeps crashing as soon as I press recruit lord after taking first settlement the button remains pushed in game crash's took all mods off restart computer same tried three times after restart same is any one else having this problem
I've recently played and won as Vlad, Manfredd and Ghorst. Be a while before I'm ready for Kemmler, as I wanna to Isabella, first. But they're all really quite easy. Even enemies with AOE spells do hardly any damage with the healing caps as they are, now. Nice, easy intro to moving armies, building cities, etc. Vampires are great intro races.
I do remember as Kemmler being it was great by the mid game being able to rehire elite troops for basically the cost of a skeleton. You could afford to lose your entire army basically as he could just replenish the best troops so easily.
I actually like to ignore the bretonnian starting army and instead raise the dead and attack the dwarfs immediately in the first turn, as they will be very annoying to fight when they start recruiting more units.
I'm surprised you didn't mention his habitable climates which kind of make him the second best for controlling the entire map without massive penalties, only behind Oxyotl. But honestly the charm for me is ghost army. You basically go around pretending you're in the final movie of the Lord of The Rings.
The Dead Rise Again mechanic is so frustrating to fight against, in addition to promoting brain dead plays (well, it's thematic at least), I hope it's nerfed in the next patch.

i think early game he is extremely easy you snowball pretty hard, but i think fighting siege battles against specific races like lizard men once you leave the continent can be difficult and autoresolve doesnt usually favour you with trash units even with higher tier units into any armies with ranged or armored units you have to manually fight them and spam coy and wod.
krell is on another level hes free you have 21 units.
its annoying to have to disband/trade specific armies for other ones if you need to fight on multiple fronts, alot of vc units are straight up garbage and it kind of sucks that he has a buff to probably some of the worst units in terms of utility for example skeleton spearmen are super cheap and very effective against cav and can get perfect vigor and decent melee defence, zombies have super high health and alot of entities and can hold down melee infantry for your monsters or heroes to attack, kairn wraiths and hex wraiths are ok at dealing with dwarves very early on but they cannot stand toe to toe with any units even against trash they trade like shit, they have physical resist but no armor and low melee defense relative to their tier unless you specifically go out of your way to buff them they are trash, hex wraiths are decentish but you have to micro them, i think bats are way better to deal with empire or bretonian arty or ranged units bc you can set it and forget it, they are a disposable problem that you send to their backline.
I always wondered why, from 2 to 3, they removed his immune to living attrition.
@@Aerowixx It allows him to replenish whilst sieging a settlement, for what that's worth
UA-cam subtitles: Legend of Terrible here!
Love these videos.
I love this campaign review videos, i hope you make one on ikkit claw :)
I play total warhammer 2 and loved playing markus campaign, liked how you had to stay active and questing also accumulating instant recruit army units. What other campaigns can you suggest for me to play next? TW warhammer3 included.
Cathay imo, it isn' the exact same thing, but managing your caravans and the yin/yang system was fun to me.
IKIT KLAW
KILL CONTRAPTIONS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Do a Lokhir campaign and rush Ulthuan in WHII. Legend has a previous VOD about it. First turns are meh, but once you hit Ulthuan the fun begins.
Dude ! These campaign reviews are awesome , thanks for doing them
Hell yeah, brother.
hey legend , how come we can't see the second part of the skarbrand stream ? wish i could watch the replay but it's not here smh
Yeahhhh my boiiii Kemmler
Thanks!
Today i discovered that when properly built, kemmler can raise troops for free
I can't wait to see what you do for boris's campaign, d-rush arguing and take him out early like I do?
Do you relocate like others recommend?
Do u do something else?
Can't wait to see your review for Teclis - would love to know your views on his campaign.
He did Teclis already.
Check the previous videos
@@ktvindicare Thanks, somehow missed it on my feed.
How about a video about what kind of Armies you would use to fight popular Doomstacks and the Strategies
So it would be good to save skillpoints so you can get lichmaster immidiatly
it’s ma boii kemmler, he is cracked
Belakor got mad at me that I smashed Louen by turn 5
In my campaigns a few patches ago, I was actually able to make a non-aggression pact with one of the bordering Bretonnian minors near me, I think the one to the South. They got taken out pretty quickly, but it allowed me to tackle Louen aggressively.
Ah yes. Kevin wettsworth.
Anyone else renames Blackstone Post into Castle Drachenfels once you rebuild 2 unique buildings in it?
Even Nagash had his limits.
Im currently playing Kemmler with the mods that allowing cairn wraiths and banshees to fly (like ghosts) and another that makes Hex wraiths to transverse between units without colision (like true spirits) oh boy its the most fun campaign I had played recently
So you are cheating
Himmler is great
Uncanny prescience, the final perk of the blue line, reduces Raise the dead cost even more.
I do guess Himmler would fit into the Warhammer world.
same here. dosn't pronounce the K and says the e like an i.
GrandPa is Op. I like him
Kemmler - bringing beating a dead horse to a new level.
Trying to play Heinrich Kemmler game keeps crashing as soon as I press recruit lord after taking first settlement the button remains pushed in game crash's took all mods off restart computer same tried three times after restart same is any one else having this problem
A bit sad he lost the upkeep reduction for necromancers, it was a satisfying plus
It would help for legend to use a no-fog of war mod for these videos
I've recently played and won as Vlad, Manfredd and Ghorst. Be a while before I'm ready for Kemmler, as I wanna to Isabella, first. But they're all really quite easy. Even enemies with AOE spells do hardly any damage with the healing caps as they are, now. Nice, easy intro to moving armies, building cities, etc. Vampires are great intro races.
He has mountains as habitable terrain this is a big deal.
I do remember as Kemmler being it was great by the mid game being able to rehire elite troops for basically the cost of a skeleton. You could afford to lose your entire army basically as he could just replenish the best troops so easily.
Skrolk campaign next 🥺
vampires are dee most powerful AI factions to fight against. no other race spam so many armies.
Can we see Boris
Azhag please!
:)
He was the last one I played in 2 his start looked really hard, but was hands down the easiest VC lord, sounds like nothing changed.
I actually like to ignore the bretonnian starting army and instead raise the dead and attack the dwarfs immediately in the first turn, as they will be very annoying to fight when they start recruiting more units.
this lord seems to have really good and relevant skills and stats.
Heinrich Kemmler the only LL that saying his name demonetizes your video.
krell should be a legendary hero
give us throgg streaaaam ice trolllsss
just wish the AI got the likes chaos, so i could be chaos and have kemmler as my undead bro
yeah weird how the ai faction doesnt have the campaign effect when we play.
i am speed
As someone who had never managed to pull off heimrich I was seriously expecting him to say that it was a shit start with lots of enemies......
Yeah, not so much as an enemy issue, but makes playing as vamps way too easy.
Weird that he's so strong but gets bodied in all of my campaigns. You'd think that Raise the Dead cheats would help him out a lot lol
they just turned vampire counts in a overeasy boring race for children, so no one ask for a rework.
The VC are way too strong. Playing VC become boring, playing against VC is annoying. CA should nerf them at least if theay are an AI faction.
