Thanks so much for the kind compliment! Definitely it was a simple idea, I just wanted to make some icy jagged edges and I knew foam would work great, and it was the cheapest material around that's all. cheers !
Wow! Another incredible diorama as usual. Just seeing all the Hoth related stuff that they have brought out in recent years to commemorate Empire. Yet no updated Wampa :/ Wish they would bring more creatures out again. It was good to see it survive the durability/playability test :)
What a summer project. It is quite deluxe in scope after all and holds out well. If you really have a proper Hoth 'playset' it would take up an entire room easily with the base, the cave, the trench, the plains. This is a great way to save space and still have some excellent play environments. If I'd have more room and ambition my entire display would be filled with dioramas. I do have an Endor one almost ready to be unvailed. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. - Dan
Fantastic job!!!! I like how detailed you were in explaining the steps... And the "Kids" test was brilliant!!! You even broke down the cost... You truly are The "Budget" Jedi!! I'm looking forward to building something similar with my grandson. Thank you for sharing this! Kutgw!!!
Amazing....I wish your videos were around when my son was younger....it would have been fun to make these things with him. Very nice and the kids look like they're having fun too. :)
this is my latest one, please have a look and let me know what you think, ua-cam.com/video/Yb8CekCAKPc/v-deo.html The Budget Jedi is a legend and inspired me along with Workshop Diorama and Black magic crafts to create the one in the link above, I really love to watch these clips and get ideas etc thank you Budget Jedi
People who make dioramas out of typical house hold items or hard ware store items are way ahead of the curve compared to people who make them with LEGO! $10 for that astounding piece of display?! A LEGO version that size and to that detail would cost a couple hundred dollars minimum to acquire all of pieces in the correct color and shape. Incredible work, my friend! Keep it up!
The fact you used blue foam is ingenious! Visually it reminds me so much of the Ice Cave levels from Super Nintendo's Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes back video game.
So glad I watched your video on Wampa Cave..... Excellent Job!! Makes me want to go and have an attempt to do one like that.... will have to go and get some of those noodles. I also loved what you did with the paper mache on the top and cave floor. Keep up the great videos... I love your ideas!!
I've officially watched this video three times....Just when I think, there is nothing else Ed's videos can teach me about dios...I realize that I'm very wrong ...just brilliant being able to see that before hand with the materials you had, just brilliant...raised the bar once again my friend...
This is SIMPLY AMAZING and my SMILE is even BIGGER than the JOKER :) Love to see a fellow Diorama Builder who loves to work and design using Dollar Store items !!! I need to have you come join the Star Wars Celebration team :)
omg i am in tears.. kids are playing with toys... hard to believe nowadays.. you did an awesome job as in all of your videos.. to bad you don't have more views.. you deserve every click
I'm fresh into my thirties . I love collecting 4 inch action figures. Mostly batman. Only a few Star Wars.I am creating playsets for display as well. It's not just for kids!!At least it's not crack.
WOW! Ed, how have I only just seen this video? FANTASTIC work! The cave looks awesome! I can't stress enough how cool the completed display looks, with the battle going on above ground! Awesome job!
Thanks Mark a real honor to get a comment from the MM! I wish I had half your ability to make some serious stuff like your landspeeder! Somebody needs to do a slideshow of your work on youtube, cheers!
Hoth based display in the summer...you waiting for winter before you start your tatooine diorama or something? this turned out great. the foam curved really nice too. looked real natural. you didnt mention it but was there lighting involved? btw which action fleet ATAT was that? it seemed unfamilar to me. was it one of those titanium ones or did you just repaint a regular one? also glad to see it survived the little walking disaster zones (thats what i call all kids hehe)
i do like how you put that wampa cave together its a very interesting idea it is very interesting with 1 box the foam tubes can be used for other things too like on my hoth hanger great work
Wow! this looks fantastic. I know this is an older video, but it's really cool what you were able to do with these supplies. Well done and it looks great.
whoa-a true tbj classic-absolutely outstanding my friend-excellent work-the ice walls are a great idea-l oved the durability attempt-a perfect landing pad for the arc-170 hahaha thanks for the mention too,the set looked perfect with it!!!
This is great. I'll have to make this for my son's birthday next year. I'll probably make a second box on the reverse side that is the interior of Echo Base to double the play value.
those damn tauntauans! ;) haha. well its great it got that dirty look without any additional work to do! it looks great all lite up and everything! pure white snow would of been fine looking anyway but i think it adds to the realism of it all for sure! great job again!
Super awesome display!! Great for kids, since you can easily make a few!! U should totally do that!! That way you have a giant interconnective display!! Also how easy would it be to make a batcave using this as an instructional video!! Thanx dude!!!
Another awesome diorama. Your Emperor's Throne Room was "seriously cool" (I commented on that under my real name). This Wampa cave is so cool, it's freezing! One thing it does need - Tampa leftovers - bones, tauntaun skulls, etc
Love your videos I made a rebel hoth base using some of your technique for the wampa cave it's on a UA-cam video I made called Trek Wars 2 chapter one. Your videos are very helpful, thank you for sharing.
Another excellent job, Budjet Jedi! For a bit more of a realistic "frosty" & "icy" look on the snow, have you thought of, perhaps, adding some glitter. Would be nice to try.
You definitely earned the like from me! Excellent job!!! If you haven't already, please do a rancor pit compatible with the classic Kenner rancor or other 3 and 3/4 scale figures
I simply run short of words to do the channel and the craft of its creator justice. Outstanding my friend outstanding. You once again leave most of us looking for the ball you clean knocked out of the park! The children part of your family fella? Cheers Dan.
thanks a lot! I totally left the back flat because usually i put it on the shelf, where it needs a flat back. But yes, one can put jagged ice edges on the back to and make it look like a small mountain!
Looks great. You could use some thin wire to mount the Probe Droid on some fine fishing line. That would really make it look great, as you could remove the transparent mounts.
This is pure talent! Hasbro toys should be embarrassed and ashamed for not making dioramas already for these classic scenes! Even their POTF Endor Playset is a joke!
I'm also trying to recreate the wampa cave but I didn't know which Hoth luke to buy whether its the one with the other half of the ice pilliar or the vintage collection one with the taun taun. I like the errie blue glow of the cave it gives it a super cold feel.
haha thanks mate, I knew you'd enjoy that. did you think I was ever going to use that set you sent me? heck yeahh! lol. thanks again for the awesome gift
Budget please come back!! There's so many new awesome diorama ideas I'd love to see you build!
Thanks so much for the kind compliment! Definitely it was a simple idea, I just wanted to make some icy jagged edges and I knew foam would work great, and it was the cheapest material around that's all. cheers !
all your creations look better than what the companies make, when they make playsets. great job once again!
Selling vintage figures is one thing, but selling your dioramas is another! Truly love your creativity. Awesome vids :)
Wow! Another incredible diorama as usual. Just seeing all the Hoth related stuff that they have brought out in recent years to commemorate Empire. Yet no updated Wampa :/ Wish they would bring more creatures out again. It was good to see it survive the durability/playability test :)

My son and I love to watch, and use your tips, to create our own playsets. Thank You for taking the time to make great content.
Fantastic job!!!! I like how detailed you were in explaining the steps... And the "Kids" test was brilliant!!! You even broke down the cost... You truly are The "Budget" Jedi!! I'm looking forward to building something similar with my grandson. Thank you for sharing this! Kutgw!!!
Wow great work! The best part is that it's cheap but it doesn't look cheap. And it's easy to build. Thanks for the video.
Amazing....I wish your videos were around when my son was younger....it would have been fun to make these things with him. Very nice and the kids look like they're having fun too. :)
That was pretty awesome! I might use your methods for a Fortress of Solitude diorama. Thanks for the video!
Wow, you are incredibly creative and talented. This is such a fun playset and diorama. I would have loved this as a kid.
CMB76 Thanks for the super kind words, yeah this is pretty fun, especially because I never grew up so I'm an oversized kid haha.

Well to be fare you can’t really compare them, because this meant for action figures when LEGO is meant for buildable figures and structures
The Force is strong with this one. This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
The fact you used blue foam is ingenious! Visually it reminds me so much of the Ice Cave levels from Super Nintendo's Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes back video game.

This is truly amazing..adding a flame to the foam pieces really made it look like ice!

Terribly awesome. Reminds me of what I used to do as a kid building my own playsets and vehicles. Subscribed
haha that's awesome. I wish I had done more of these when I was a kid! thanks for the sub and comment
I really like that - the blue foam kinda showing through makes it look like real blue ice, like we get up here in northern Michigan.
GOD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH STRONG FORCE MY BROTHER!! THANK YOU FOR EXISTING!! THIS WAS MINDBLOWINGLY AWESOME!!
Thanks Mark a real honor to get a comment from the MM! I wish I had half your ability to make some serious stuff like your landspeeder! Somebody needs to do a slideshow of your work on youtube, cheers!
Using pool noodles and fire to create a cold winter diorama, you may be the wisest man in earth.
very cool! would never have thought to use the foam noodles, and they work very well!

No matter how close it looks as the movie cave it still looks really cool
Awesome diorama! I would never have thought to use foam noodles for something like this. It looks absolutely amazing.
your displays are awesome,great work

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Simply amazing. Great job. Subscribed!!!!
Yes I think so, even though it's kinda huge, takes up so much space! and great job on yours as well!!!
Awesome diorama. You are so creative when it comes to making your own stuff.
Wow! this looks fantastic. I know this is an older video, but it's really cool what you were able to do with these supplies. Well done and it looks great.

wow. I don't even like Star Wars, but I LOVE this Wampa diorama! Excellent work, Sir!
