    I really like a bigger sizing than your ~54% @ 3:50 at around 80-120% depending on your opponent. You have so many missed draws (79o, QJo sometimes, J9o, a bunch of missed flushdraw combos) in your range and if your opponet has anything he has to call almost every sizing in that spot. I dont really see him having a better hand then yours, but he definetly has some pocket pairs, Ax, Tx which he can definetly consider calling a big sized bet against your range. Especially when he has a 10 he can basically never fold there since its much more likely that you have a missed draw than a good hand.

      range vs range

    • @Demondoink1
      @Demondoink1 5 років тому +1

      utg probably uses too large of a cbet sizing on a board where the bb should have a 4x advantage, albeit not a large one because only A4s/K4s/54s/64s should be defending vs a 3x. other 4x will be -EV defends. you don't need to use a large cbet sizing because even if OOP floats hands such as QJo/QTo they are gonna be -EV cos our utg range is so strong (mostly Ax and pocket pairs with the weakest hand being T9s.)
      the flop x raise from bb should be a mixed strategy, with very high frequency calling due to the fact that utg uses a larger sizing, and we have one of our weakest 5x combos. preference would be to x raising open enders, gut shots etc where we can leverage our polarized nuts/air range on future streets, and use this hand to call down 2 streets and sometimes 3 on decent run outs. but the x raise is okay.
      the flop 3bet is a fine adjustment given the fact that the bb probably over-estimates his 4x advantage, and is x raising too many marginal hands such as the one we x raised with. however, I don't like the combo as it blocks our straight draws and is losing to some of the pocket pairs that slow played pre (such as TT/99 etc.) I would prefer a flop 3bet with JJ/QQ and KQs bdfd type hands. as well as some A2s/A3s etc. the click back is a bit of a spaz tbh and we should probably just fold given the fact that utg has reduced the spr to such an extent that folding an overpair in his shoes when there are many draws on board seems extremely unlikely. I prefer fold or call and click back last. turn/river x down is standard.
      both plays were somewhat questionable in this hand tbh.

    38:25, you say you had good blockers with 85s on 445, how does that hand present good blockers exactly? Wouldn't kq be a much better hand to 4bet the flop?

    • @insanity4462
      @insanity4462 4 роки тому +1

      I think he was talking about blocking the hands that flop a boat and the pocket 5s, while trying to fold out the overpair and broadway overcards. So KQ was actually a hand he didn't want to block.

      @@RaiseYourEdge played a 100 player sit and go straight after watching and applied all the key points, really enjoying more in depth flop analysis, prior I would c bet for too often.
      Came 5th with 2 mistakes.
      1 - folding the flop in a 4 way pot where 1 player was all in, instinctively folded to a bet when my AQ had pot odds and show down value. But not a huge error.
      2 - after check calling 2 streets with a solid draw and missing I went into pilot mode and tried to bluff the river... he has a reduced range!!!

    Hello benCB, thank you for these videos. Some of these concepts are really cool. I have seen many professional poker players that do not like it when other pros "teach" the general public how to play poker, because it makes poker less profitable for them. I have heard some pros talk about this on Joe Ingram's podcast and other outlets. Are some of the concepts discussed in this video a part of that "secret" info that some pros want to keep secret?

    The hand at 40:00 against Mmasherdog:
    Why ls he allowed to check raise really big there?
    Wouldn’t we expect him to raise nutted hands like 67 earlier in the hand. Surely his range must be pretty capped after checking three times

    • @RaiseYourEdge
      @RaiseYourEdge  4 роки тому

      2 Overcards to the flop which he can expect me to delay bet. On 345s we should be checking back on the flop quite a lot since he has way more nutted hands. He knows that and we still have quite some overpairs in our range which he can go for a check raise then. After it goes check check the same applies on the River, he still has some nutted hands and since he is very polarized (2pair+ or air) he has to raise very big to apply maximum pressure against my 1 pair hands.

    46:20 why do you check-raise if you have the nutted hand? People with overcard just autofold... I don't see the point of that. you are not getting max value.

      @@RaiseYourEdge 5:25. A9s will be large bet on the river. He is mostly bluffcatching dont have many flushes once he overbets the flop and check turn on such a blank as 2o his range do not have even hand like AK. he might check ocassionally KJ.
      and feels like u dont even know what
      the ranges are. 8-46 you had AA on 874r u did not even realise that he suppose to check most of his range and he contiues with decent amount of raises.
      U said in the beginning that u beat z500. can you post a proove?

      @@milanhoang4942 If you accuse others to play bad and not being able to beat a certain pool, you should at least 100% certain about your feedback.
      874 wants to cbet as the SB 3bet PFA with at least 40% frequency. So saying he should check most of his range (which would be at least 90%+) is totally wrong. Furthermore, what confused me was his sizing which should not be a thing.
      I dont know who you are but if you play zoom500 yourself you should at least use your real screen name here instead hiding behing an annonymous screename and show us who you are.
      Otherwise you probably havent played zoom500 ever yourself and you are just a random hater.
      So either give productive criticsm and be positive or shut up. You are the guy that talks people down and has no clue himself. Very toxic.
