Deftones are the best band there is and no one can convince me otherwise, been my favorite band since I heard Minus Blindfold in 9th grade 25 something years ago
i really love how they brang a modernistic effect but kept their old touch, this is just what makes deftones so pleasing for me, they change it up so it’s not repetitive but somehow manage to keep the same flare every single time that makes them unique, really well done with this album it’s badass!!
I haven't heard an Album as Heavy but as Beautiful as this in Ages. Once again Deftones have created a total masterpiece, crushing guitars mixed with hypnotic synth and utterly captivating melody and Chino,s vocals are near perfect. Not one track is anything less that perfection. I LOVE THIS ALBUM AND I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT.... It's impossible to get bored with.
What attracted them to me in 98 now in 2022 I still feel 16 listening to them for the first time because of how as you say they explore the full range of emotions , so many bands grow stale, even slipknot but Deftones fresh, delicate and hardcore as ever
Love Deftones ever since hearing "7 words" on MTV many moons ago, such a unique powerful sounding band! Everything from the vox to bass, guitar & drums are on point as always. I find their music always brings a smile & takes you away to a special place. This album is a absolute beauty.

Its not shoegaze. Sorry, but whatever shoegaze is, its not Deftones. Deftones is atmospheric alternative metal. When they wrote White Pony, they didnt think 'lets add some shoegaze'. It came organically from who they were.
I might be crazy but listening to the album the first time it definitely has a "Darkside of the Moon" vibe where you feel weightless and the music feels like a journey beyond.

This is pretty good! Being a very impressionable age when Deftones were first making it big I didn't even know they had new albums coming out until recently. I'm glad they are! One of the coolest sounds to come out of the 90s.

I've loved them since i was a kid - remember listening to Adrenaline and Around the Fur when they came out. I'm proud to call myself a super fan. They're highly underrated and I'm convinced it's because of their association with 'new metal.' But they're one of the most innovative yet consistent alternative rock of which I'm aware.
This would have to be in my top 3 albums of all time. There's no beating the sound they captured in this one, ohms really has its own atmosphere and world different to any other deftones album. I think it's a great album because it changes, like a movie. It has a flow, starts off in one place and finishes somewhere else but with so much cohesion. It's like a journey and there are no songs that really stick out to me or feel jarring.

Despite the clusterfuck that 2020 was, it sure brought us some great albums. Ohms, Inlet by Hum, Fear Inoculum by Tool, and a few others I've forgotten. Long live rock n roll
I was 12 when i first heard Around the Fur in 1998 and it launched me into my musical journey that has continued to this day. Of all the bands to emerge out of the late 90’s/early 2000’s so called nu metal era, Deftones are the only one i can think of that hasn’t dried up and continued to evolve and mature their sound. Maybe even better now than they were then. The title track on this album really hits home, almost sums up their entire body of work and rings nastalgia for me
I don't listen to Deftones everyday, but when I do over that day I get a day older But really, they are one of the type of bands that will listen to other bands on tour from the audience to get a grasp of their peers work from the perspective it deserves. That shows to me that they really care about the quality of the industry and quality of their music.

I might be crazy but listening to the album the first time it definitely has a "Darkside of the Moon" vibe where you feel weightless and the music feels like a journey beyond.
yeah...agreed..that first listen......strange...dark...mysterious...floaty....definately has the Dark Side quality....the first time i heard Lateralus from Tool it was the same...actually with Lateralus it was even more of an epic journey

This is pretty good! Being a very impressionable age when Deftones were first making it big I didn't even know they had new albums coming out until recently. I'm glad they are! One of the coolest sounds to come out of the 90s.
Some songs in this album is like a soundtrack to different parts of life.....touched a nerve lol

I've loved them since i was a kid - remember listening to Adrenaline and Around the Fur when they came out. I'm proud to call myself a super fan. They're highly underrated and I'm convinced it's because of their association with 'new metal.' But they're one of the most innovative yet consistent alternative rock of which I'm aware.

This would have to be in my top 3 albums of all time. There's no beating the sound they captured in this one, ohms really has its own atmosphere and world different to any other deftones album. I think it's a great album because it changes, like a movie. It has a flow, starts off in one place and finishes somewhere else but with so much cohesion. It's like a journey and there are no songs that really stick out to me or feel jarring.

What took me so long to listen to this masterpiece?!?!
I was 12 when i first heard Around the Fur in 1998 and it launched me into my musical journey that has continued to this day. Of all the bands to emerge out of the late 90’s/early 2000’s so called nu metal era, Deftones are the only one i can think of that hasn’t dried up and continued to evolve and mature their sound. Maybe even better now than they were then. The title track on this album really hits home, almost sums up their entire body of work and rings nastalgia for me
The bridge and outro on Error is perfect.
