I have a 2019 Kia sportage AWD. Seriously the best damn car I've ever owned. I work with horses and live in the PNW so driving through rough, steep & unpredictable terrain/weather is a every day thing. This car has gotten me through sand, gravel, mud, water, and snow. It goes through it like a hot knife on butter, espically in the snow/ice covered passes & dangerous back roads. Also love the space inside. I've owned 4 kias and it all started with the Rondo. It's the only brand of car I'll buy 🤷♀️ I'm hoping Kia rolls out a Truck soon (with awd) That would be the only reason I would trade in my Sportage

Yeah, the Seltos is a smaller vehicle than the Sportage. The Seltos is one of the largest vehicles in its class, but it's still smaller than the vehicles in the Sportage class.
I wanted to downsize from a 2017 Sorento SX with the 2.0L turbo (5 seater) so I looked at both of these vehicles and ended up leasing the Seltos SX. The technology is amazing and it's new for 2021. I didn't want to pay that much more for the last model year of the Sportage before a major redesign.

Why does the Canadian version have more features than the American version, I have the 2021 Seltos SX and it do NOT come with ventilated seats, Head Up Display, Heated back seat and heated steering wheel, by the way the Seltos look bigger than the Sportage
I have the Seltos which I love, but one thing I would love to have is a power tail gate. Can power tail gate can be installed as an accessory in the Seltos?

Haha! Thanks for saying that you like the way I say Sportage. A lot of Americans get really upset about the way I say it, but that's the way we say it here in Canada. As far as adding the HUD to the Seltos, I'm not sure if that can be done. I would assume that it's not just a hardware upgrade, but you would also have to do some sort of a software upgrade to support it. I would have no clue how to do that, or if it's possible. Sorry.

I'm not sure if that's true. The Cargo Space of the Sportage is listed as having more litres of space, but I often do the "Teddy bear test" to show that listed litres of space may or may not mean that it has more practical space.
That's a bit of a trick question. I'll explain. An ECO mode in any of our cars doesn't actually get you better fuel efficiency. If you're driving efficiently, the Eco mode works with you to give you the most reward for driving that way, meaning that the car will work with you and you'll see fuel savings. However, if you drive with a lead foot in eco mode, you'll find that you won't save fuel. So the Smart mode is a mode that, if you're driving efficiently, will work with you to save you the most fuel. In Normal mode, the shift points will stay where they are, and you'll find good overall driveability but it won't put itself into a mode that will maximize fuel efficiency. The Smart Mode senses when you're driving efficiently and then sets the vehicle up to maximize your efficiency. If you get into the throttle a lot, it will just move it into the normal mode, or even the Sport mode. So it's not the mode that saves you fuel, it's the way you drive, but if you drive efficiently, the Smart mode has the most potential to save you fuel. Sorry for the long response, but that's the correct answer.

PS........I bought the 2021 Kia Seltos in Steel Grey however I wanted the black rooftop which doesn't come in any model if you get the sunroof so I paid to get it wrapped. Plus I wanted other elements in gloss black vs the silver plastic. Just my preference, but thought I'd share the wrap results although he camera did different tones of the the Steel grey on sunny and cloudy days. Not in the head unit... not that I know of. I have a spec sheet on the 2022 model, (not an all-new vehicle) so it's possible that vehicle has some new software, but I haven't seen that vehicle yet.
Ooh. That's a tough one... I think probably the Sportage, but that's off the top of my head. For something like that, you may want to try them out for yourself to see if one suits you better than the other.

Haha! It doesn't matter which one is best for me. I think for my family the Seltos would be perfect. I like some of the technology with the larger screen, and for the type of driving that I would do with this type of vehicle, I would value fuel efficiency over outright performance, but I do LOVE the panoramic sunroof of the Sportage SX.

@@michaelsison5097 Hi Michael, I have two kids, and I still think the Seltos would be perfect for me. As far as child seats, I get asked this question a lot. I've seen 3 child seats across the back of the Kia SOUL before, and at the same time, I've seen the same car with two massive child seats and barely enough room for a toy poodle in the middle. So it's tough for me to say. In your case, the size of the adult will also matter. I would think if you have the two booster seats that I used to have, that you would have no problem fitting two of those and an adult, but you may want to check at your local dealer with your specific seats, and the adult that you plan to put back there with them. I think it can be done, but you'll have to decide if it's convenient for you. Thanks for watching!

Saw both today and the Seltos felt WAY small when sitting in drivers seat. I love the Seltos look but wish it had the size of the Sportage.

I just never been a fan of the front end of the Sportage, I hope that's next for redesign.
This will be the last year for the Sportage as it is. I expect to see a new Sportage in Canada around a year from now.

We don't have a listing in Canada for any type of power tailgate. I don't believe Kia makes the components for a powered tailgate on the Seltos.

You may not know the answer to this but if we are in the States and we want to install the HUD on a Seltos, is that possible?
I don't believe that's a simple operation. I would say, it's likely not something that your dealer can do.
