This was a solid analysis of the flaws of Oddballs, and I say that as another former odd one!! This vid is really divine, and it reminds me of the Minecraft mod DivineRPG. And as a longtime viewer of ForkBow I think you would enjoy this experience very greatly. You should make a review on it to show your love for this awesome medium of content (which is review-styled and based).
Something I say to these a lot is the fact that James wasn’t the only person who made the show how it was. Remember pitching a show to a network will usually end up with a lot of your ideas scrapped and replaced with bad ones so they can get more viewer ship from a young audience. I think if James had a full say in the writing and humor it would be much more accurate to the humor in his videos.
I at first watched the show thinking it would just be a kids show and I would drop it but there were a lot of parts where I actually laughed, like when James explains his rock paper scissors game and his actual hands show up and are in sync with the animated James's expressions
I agree it’s quite aimed towards children, which would be fine if they wanted them to be Able to watch it, the problem arrives when the entire series is all childish and silly
Until I saw the trailer I expected so much more. For a time James was kind of a taste maker. He brought web comics back into the mainstream. He didn't the same with online animation. I remember talking to people who thought this would be akin to a Gen Z Homestar Runner or an absurdist version of Gravity Falls kinda like the comic book Lumberjanes. Something made for a 14- 24 year old audience. Then the trailer dropped and it was clear this was Gumball but for anneven younger audience. I have 6 nieces and nephews ranging from 5-17 years old. They all watched it. Only the 5 year old enjoyed it. And only barely. What a disappointment

I recently started watching it and I almost cried after the first episode, the meaning I got from it just hit me so hard. All I understood from it with my small brain was parents fighting and the effects it can have on children, and as someone with parents and step parents it just hurt seeing it. It took me by surprise to be honest

I was babysitting for a _literal ten year old_ and he was watching this on the TV, and it was just so insufferable... I couldn't look away. Like a train wreck, you know? An undeniable tragic accident yet my curiosity got the best of me. I honestly don't like his videos either. I can't believe I was seriously a fan of his in 2017-ish.

You need to lower the volume on the sound effects, theyre much louder than your own voice and it rips me out of the video having to lower the volume as it hurts my ears after turning it up so i can hear your voice
I was happy to see this show when I got home from school and I thought it was gonna have James and max going to adventures but episode 3 made me pissed off that I stopped because of James being a moron and not believing that echo is from the future even though Echo can just take them. WOW fork this is really good! one thing i have to say about this show just based off the first episode is that the creativity is IMPECCABLE. they add some really nice ideas into this show the execution is just kinda hard to watch sometimes- like- the bread song joke was just unfunny and cringey imo. Honestly the show was pretty bad. It doesn't hit the same like James video's. And you can easily know what's going to happen next. So it's a 4/10 or 5/10. It has good animation but lacks plot, story, or how James and the alligator met. That would be way better if we had a origin story for them.
Cool I haven't watched it so I cannot state my opinion but I gotta say a lot of people are "defending" James but fork is not attacking him or anything we all get making a show is hard but people can like and dislike what they want so I have no idea of what they are thinking
I'd say Oddballs is a decent show. I thought it was a pretty good show until rewatch, where I could only bring myself to watch 2 episodes I liked after that. The rest of the episodes were episodes. I do agree with your opinion that Oddballs isn't really that good, since your points are pretty solid, like how the quality of the show steadily increases overall. In fact, I'm not really that much of a fan of the comedy, since I barely laughed watching the show for the first time. I'm not sure if me thinking that Oddballs is good comes from Odd1Sout nostalgia, but I hope James and Ethan can turn this show around and produce a pretty good season 2.

Personally, I got absolutely pissed when I realized it was a kids show. But watching it now, it might have some Bad parts, like the out of date jokes, but I still think it’s a pretty good show for something targeted towards kids.
Watched the whole series it's pretty ok in my opinion not great or awful just ok it's like on the level of a nick show it can be meh but sometimes can make a good joke plus the ending of the last episode is a pretty good way to make potential of an overarching story

I agree. After watching the first episode. It seemed boring and James voice acting seemed bad. His character design doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the other characters. All the other characters seem so well though out but then you have just this one plane white character. It seems so uncreative. I understand that he wanted to keep his character from his UA-cam channel but this is a TV show. You expect a level of quality.

Bro, the point of he Odd1sOut show is a show that is for Odd1sOut fans and families alike. What did you expect, and adult show? He is literally a Cartoon. If you want to watch more mature videos, that is what is UA-cam channel is for. Im getting really tired of people hating on people on social media when the are working really hard. Its not a nice thing to do for views. Unless the person you are making fun of is a (current) jerk and terrible person, don't completely say to everyone "THIS SHOW SUCKS."

Honestly the show was pretty bad. It doesn't hit the same like James video's. And you can easily know what's going to happen next. So it's a 4/10 or 5/10. It has good animation but lacks plot, story, or how James and the alligator met. That would be way better if we had a origin story for them.
Cool I haven't watched it so I cannot state my opinion but I gotta say a lot of people are "defending" James but fork is not attacking him or anything we all get making a show is hard but people can like and dislike what they want so I have no idea of what they are thinking

I'd say Oddballs is a decent show. I thought it was a pretty good show until rewatch, where I could only bring myself to watch 2 episodes I liked after that. The rest of the episodes were episodes. I do agree with your opinion that Oddballs isn't really that good, since your points are pretty solid, like how the quality of the show steadily increases overall. In fact, I'm not really that much of a fan of the comedy, since I barely laughed watching the show for the first time. I'm not sure if me thinking that Oddballs is good comes from Odd1Sout nostalgia, but I hope James and Ethan can turn this show around and produce a pretty good season 2.

Personally, I got absolutely pissed when I realized it was a kids show. But watching it now, it might have some Bad parts, like the out of date jokes, but I still think it’s a pretty good show for something targeted towards kids.

Watched the whole series it's pretty ok in my opinion not great or awful just ok it's like on the level of a nick show it can be meh but sometimes can make a good joke plus the ending of the last episode is a pretty good way to make potential of an overarching story

I agree. After watching the first episode. It seemed boring and James voice acting seemed bad. His character design doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the other characters. All the other characters seem so well though out but then you have just this one plane white character. It seems so uncreative. I understand that he wanted to keep his character from his UA-cam channel but this is a TV show. You expect a level of quality.
