Yes! I've been into Tolkien since childhood and I'm excited and terrified that they are going to ruin it! But let me know what you think!
They didn't use a lot from the Silmarillion because they don't have the rights to it! They only have the rights to LOTR, the appendices and I think the Hobbit. But nothing else!
That's probably the reason why there were only indications and mentions about Beren story, but didn't include it.
And that's why the prologue was short and not included all of the stories you mentioned.
This series isn't going to do well because they are telling a part of the story that most people don't care about. Whether or not they have the right my be a good point, but the fact still remains, I'm probably going to be upset at the end because they are going skip over too much of the story.
@@ChrisKempter yes, they will skip a lot, and they will add a lot as well unfortunately. But so far people like it, people are interested in the story, because as a fantasy that is on Middle Earth is looks good. I think this series will create a new interest in Tolkiens work and that would be great!
And imagine if they would have the rights to the Silmarillion, they could have made the 1st episode all about what happened in the first age, would have been awesome visually etc.
They just have to work with what they have and consult with the Tolkien Estate.
I just recently watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and have watched the first two episodes of Rings of Power, I enjoyed them all. I have not watched the Hobbit trilogy, is it worth watching or will it just confuse the story?
