I always keep Gum on me when working at the hospital. Sometimes I get so busy that I feel sick because I haven't been able to eat and chewing on something always helps me
So sorry! Don’t be embarrassed I’m pretty sure they have seen it all. I think it is because of the change of sleep schedule and your body adjusting. One time I study too long and didn’t get enough sleep I got the runs! Everyone body manifest differently!
i know that feeling!! that's the WORST when you're with a patient and you're like- PLEASE body hold it together- please seem normal to the world. it is super embarrassing but you are not the only one this has happened to. I'm in that club too :D just listen to your body. hopefully you adjust and are feeling better soon
OMG so glad to see you uploaded! I’ve been binging all over your PA school, Vlogs! I have decided to make a career change into PA school and I’m currently taking prerequisites. Was it hard for you to pick which schools you were going to apply to? Update After Watching: sorry to hear you had the night shift nausea! I feel like that would give me so much anxiety. 😭😭 I hope it gets better as you continue.
@@PeytonFowler Glad to hear! 😊And ahhhh I see. Yeah I’m trying to stick with schools in my state, but I saw so many places say that you should apply to like eight schools… So I was trying to open up my options, but it’s a little stressful to choose. 😅
i'm about to start my first semester of nursing school but when i was an MA i had taken staples out of a patient for the first time without knowing i was going to when i entered that room. my adrenaline was so high and it got me through it but as soon as i left that room i had to sit down. i ended up going into the break room and laying across two chairs so i wouldn't pass out on the floor 😭doctors and MAs were in and out, asking if i was okay when they saw me, i was so embarrassed and still am but it happens. you're not alone lol!! 💓 praying i am okay during night shift clinicals when i get to them, i have a fear of getting sick too 🥲
Peyton, I’m not a PA, but I wanted to tell you this story in hopes cheering you up. I’m a Medical Laboratory Scientist & during my clinicals, I had to observe an autopsy. I got so sick that I had to leave early. The instructor told me not to feel bad, because a pathologist assistant student had passed out, hit his/her head off of the dissecting table, & was still able to pick back up and finish the program. Whew…
I’ve got to ask-how do you manage to fit in self care/“me time” with your busy schedule? You always have so much energy to do it all and it amazes me. 😊
I’m an NP! I actually just graduated this past May. Is it possible that you’re Chobani yogurt, your cheese stick, your chipotle, anything could’ve been like maybe spoiled or not properly prepared? Hopefully your symptoms didn’t continue after that! I’ve gotten sick during an internship before when I was an undergrad. I get really bad periods And there was one day where I literally almost fainted, and then I puked in the locker room lol.I think these long shifts, especially at night, can be a lot harder on us than we are willing to acknowledge all the time!
Also, sensitive stomach gang, so I totally feel you on the embarrassment! (TBH it makes me feel better to know even PAs get sick too. 😄) I hope you’re feeling better now!
I’m starting clinicals in PA school soon!! Wishing you the best of luck with everything 🫶
omg best of luck you got this!!🩷🩵
