      @@dixensizzler He does a good job, but I think Caryle was talking about training reptiles to do tasks, or stunts. I have the only reptiles to follow voice commands in the world. But I do hope to see others achieve the same outcome. Of course people like Kevin, Kamp Kenan, Clints reptile's, or Dav Kaufman usually have thousands of comments in 1 day to have a conversation with me about why they dont teach their reptiles voice commands. But hey, as long as people have a good bond with their reptiles, you really cant ask for more than that.

      Thanks, He might still be with me but things happen and I couldnt let rats take over my house! I treid to stay away from poison, but the exterminator couldnt get them with traps. We still have his videos and over 40 offspring from his line, I have 3 of the smartest lizards ever recorded from his sons and daughters and now grandson Rocky! I do the best I can, but thats not always good enough! Thanks for watching

    hey dave have you watched nerd's videos on how he socializes his water monitors as soon as thy hatch? really need more breeder putting that extra work in to produce more socialized pets ..
    everyone should know the joys of having a completely tame little dinosaur . as you know my not even 2 year old rhino is completely free roaming like a dog, well more like a cat . granted i live in south florida where the weathers great 10 months out of the year and have a big outdoor enclosed pool area for him. he can swim but smart enough not to fall in the pool.
    sleeps in my bed at night, takes himself outside in the morning and puts himself in bed at night .
    now if i can just potty train him then ill say best pet ive ever had.

      Nice! I really like free roaming lizards, not my wife though. I have tried to watch other channels like Kevin on nerd, and i can see from what i have watched that hes headed in the right direction.I did try to watch his latest video but his channel and the others have a lot of commercials, and I dont mind maybe 2 per 20 mins. but they are just flooded with them. I did start raising monitors and reptiles before most of these guys were born, my first hatching of monitors was back in 1996 and iguanas in 1994. I do like how him and the others have great success, and Kevin is doing a great job reaching out to the public. Socializing has always been a part of my training, and it works. Now getting back to potty training, have you tried a 1 foot square of black tile or glass. Put the tile or glass where the rhino generally goes to the bathroom,in his cage if he has one. Tiger goes out of the barn every day and goes in the exact same place everyday. They like the glass and black tile because it reminds them of water where in the wild they would defecate to keep predators off their trail. I have potty trained many iguanas using this method. My wife put a bunch of pictures of me and my reptiles back in my thirtys, maybe I can do a montage of the pictures explaining my first hatchlings. Thanks for watching

      @@DaveDurham never heard of that method for potty training , i dont have a cage or enclosure for him anymore , i just treat him as i would a cat or dog , he has free roam of a huge screened in pool area for during the day and a cat house he only uses for the roof. i havnt found anyone else that keeps their iguana like i do where his completely free roaming and shares my bed at night.. today before i left put a black tote lid down by a spot he normally poops.. so close lol he went 6 inches from it... does seem promising tho ,
      I have been told by guy at iguanaland, he has a lady that toilet trained hers using kiddy sit and branch but that seems like a big stretch, I gave up trying throw him in the bath to poop he just goes crazy flinging poop with his tail trying get out of the tub. plus both of the above 2 methods require you to be completely on timing which isnt easy to do. plus normally its just one big poop but from time to time he will take a little poop or two late afternoon especially if his moving about allot.
      ps. yes ads are rediculous , i use adblock plus

      @@dixensizzler Well what I said does work, the plastic might not of been shiny enough for him. Its just like you putting him in water without the splashing, and I found most rock iguanas I have had dont like swimming, but a shallow water isnt to bad. As long as they can touch the bottom. I have had many free roaming lizards, 5 I can think of off hand. Did you make a video of your iguana? Let me know, I didnt see any when I visited your channel.

      @@DaveDurham One day i'll get around to making a video, normally just take pictures of him, its not just that he free roams , its the fact he acts like a dog coming in and out as he pleases and sleeps in the bed. also have a 25+ year old red ear slider that acts like a cat , if she's allowed to will come in and sleep under my bed at night, turtles weird disappeared for 2 years in the backyard of old house , just to show up at the backdoor one day a different turtle. no clue why she likes to sleep under my bed. need to build her a little pond she can get in and out of one day instead of the tub i keep her in.
      thanks for advice im going try and find something black and shiny really want to get him potty trained. his already 32'' bigger then most rhinos i see at his age,(maybe cause i dont keep him in any type of enclosure? ) not up to cleaning up poop in random locations when his twice the size . let alone when his full grown in 5-7 years.

      @DaveDurham  Рік тому

      My hand is fine. If your talking about Blues bite, I went back to work a week after the bite, when my hand was opened up about 2 inches and 3/4 of inch deep. Bites wont keep your job from wanting you back to work, with one of my rattlesnake bites I was back to work in 5 days, of course I was in intensive care for 3 of them days, the other 2 was the weekend :). They're venomous aren't they?

    • @Daedalus37
      @Daedalus37 Рік тому

      No. You might be thinking of Komodo Dragons? They have some serious bacteria in their mouths that can cause some real problems after a bite, but they aren't venomous per se. They just have a problematic bite.

      Actually, I just looked it up to confirm. Guess it i's now confirmed that Komodo Dragons do have venom as well? I stand corrected. I always thought it was just the bacteria. In the video, those are Monitor lizards and an iguana to start. I know for sure they don't have venom. They are common pets. At least common reptile pets.
