Conspiracy theories will always fire up the imaginations of even the most reasonable of us. It’s fascinating to imagine a bunch of people in a dark room, controlling actions from their chairs and encouraging events that change the course of the world, with no one truly being the wiser. Now, most conspiracy theories are flimsy nonsense that are obviously full of holes and not true at all. However, some conspiracy theories have more truth than most people would ever imagine. In some situations, there really was a group of people in a dark room conspiring to massively pull the wool over the eyes of others, in order to change the course of the world.

You missed one that effected me and my baby boomer hippie friends. The U.S. government flew over marijuana crops in Mexico in the early- and mid-'70s, spraying them with an exfoliant called paraquat. As a result, crops were harvested immediately, and sold to unsuspecting hippies, causing severe damage to the lungs, bronchial tubes and throats of smokers. It was VERY painful. When the word got out, a disc jockey on the Los Angeles radio station KMET (now defunct) became known as "Paraquat" Kelly.

You caught that too. I think Simon makes so many videos that some factual errors creep in. Also, Simon's explanation of the Gulf of Tonkin incident was too simplistic. To this day, many historians don't know exactly what happened. The Navy's records are not clear.

..... Just got to the alcohol thing. Two things:
1. So that's why people believe moonshine makes you go blind.
2. Over the last couple of years there have been a couple of instances where the illegal marijuana Market has found incredibly dangerous chemicals in their drugs. Obviously marijuana by itself isn't dangerous. I had always wondered why vendors would intentionally damage their products. Now I'm starting to see where it might have come from.
As to your number 1.
When you distill down spirits you do get some wood alcohol at the very beginning. This is why that first pint or so is discarded. After that it's fine to drink.
Uhhh, no. Moonshine makes you go blind (when it does) by having wood alcohol (methanol) in it when what is expected is pure grain alcohol (ethanol). It generally comes from contamination of the mash with wood stems and actual wood shavings.
What really caused it in large amounts was when distillers started using car radiator in the production because it was cheap and easy and that made the antifreeze into the drink common ground the prohibition era.
Some of the alcohol produced during prohibition did indeed, cause blindness and other maladies. This was mainly due to unqualified, inexperienced people trying to make a quick buck or simply trying to produce cheap liquor. This has been going on since before prohibition and still goes on today. The vast majority of bootleg liquor was imported from places like Canada, and the UK. , and therefore was potable and unadulterated. There are instances of liquor being watered down or having colouration added but, for the most part, it was largely the original product. It behooves the producers of a valuable product to make certain that their product doesn't harm its consumers.
drug dealers use bug spray on their weed and other chemicals to make it stronger. If you're not a kid most adults know druggies always choose the deadlier drug, deadlier name, or deadlier mix lol

While still in the Research phase these jets are flown over populated cities while civilians are unaware that they are being conducted as Guineapigs. The idea that conspiracies can never happen is actually pretty ridiculous. Conspiracies happen every day. In fact, me and another person planning a surprise birthday party for someone is a conspiracy against that person. But when you get into unsubstantiated theories, it isn't wise to blindly believe anything.

Every MLB is essentially unique. The balls themselves are mostly hand made and the finished balls are rubbed with a special mud before use. It's not inconceivable that the batch used for the 2017 World Series had unintentional qualities that allowed for more home runs.

There`re two Lac Megantics, firstly the lake with this name, and one of the surrounding towns with the same name. Neither has ever been terrorism. A lake is only a body of water, and the town of Lac/Lake Megantic also certainly isn`t terrorism. If you`re meaning to infer the relatively recent railway accident, then sure, it surely was terrifying, but it most surely wasn`t due to an act of terrorism, which`d need to be intentional. It was a nasty accident and only an accident, which isn`t what terrorism is.

There was no driver. The train was parked and had a fire in the engine, which had been left running. The firemen and a RR rep shut the engine off, which also killed the compressor. As the air bled off the brake cylinders, the train rolled down the hill gathering speed until it hit the curve WAY too fast and derailed. Fault was placed on the engineer, who failed to set the hand brakes, and the RR rep who shut down the engine.

I work outside all the time, been doing it for over 22yrs. There is a difference between contrails and chemtrails. Contrails dissappear relatively shortly behind the plane. Chemtrails stretch all the way across the sky. Nature doesn't do straight lines or tic-tac-toe squares, and I've seen both above the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains. I've watched them expand and mix in with the regular clouds over the course of a day, sometimes as short as a few hours. I don't know what lingered, but why the difference, and what are we inevitably breathing in?

Not necessarily calling it a conspiracy, just strange. Yes I know they dissipate depending on density of the vapor. What I'm suggesting is when I see two planes in the air and one contrail disappears within 100yds while the other stretches from horizon to horizon, something is whacked.

Sometime after I moved to SF in 1994, the Chronicle ran a curiously bland article about the death of an old man in a nursing home, listing his death as a serratia bacteria infection. The article then went on to note that the bacteria is not native to the Bay Area and was introduced by US germ warfare tests in the early 1950s and, seemingly of more concern, is still prone to killing people whenever it rises to large enough levels in the local environment. In the last couple of years the same US tests were featured in one of the many quizzes the Chronicle now runs instead of news, with the headline “What Weird Thing Happened In San Francisco In 1952?” as if our government testing chemical warfare on its own people is some kind of joke to laugh at.

Usually contrails dissipate in a few minutes. Some I have seen over recent years stay up and spread out to look like clouds themselves. So is this a form of cloud seeding or something else?
Contrails is short for condensation and any particles in the upper atmosphere can create condensation. What that condensation does is subject to upper winds and temperatures exact like other clouds.
Commercial aircraft fly higher than they did in the past. The longer lasting contrails are due to the altitude at which they appear.
Each time Simon said, "However", I thought, "Oh, hell. Now what?".
Prohibition was wrong with its all out ban, but alcohol should be seriously controlled and given the tabbaco treatment. It does way more damage than any other hard drug!
I studied Chem-trails over the summer in the NW of Britain. The one most common thing I noticed was that every time a cloud formation hit the Chem-trail the cloud would disappear and the temperature would suddenly rise and then after a while the cloud would reform once it had past the area of the Chem-trail. Now the only solution that I could theorise for this is that it is an attempt at creating a super cooling affect in the coming winter months in hope that it would somehow help in reforming the polar ice caps. But it’s just a theory.

Please explain how this “study” took place. Perhaps with fellow meteorologists? What instruments did you use? I suppose you had drones in the atmosphere to properly sample the trails.

Calling something a conspiracy theory is just a way they get away with them. It automatically makes you think it's crazy. This list needs to be way longer and I have a feeling you know that too.
Wasn't the term coined by the CIA to dissuade people from independent thought in general? Somewhere around the JFK assassination. I've heard that multiple times. Not sure if true, but from the amount of times and calibre of people, I think there could be some truth to it.
Cue anything that the government wouldn't want to be public knowledge being called a conspiracy theory from that point until today. Also, the term doesn't appear in Classical Literature at all, which is kind of weird. Not before about 1870 at the earliest, AFAIK.

I wonder if you know how to cross reference information and correlate information from sources using information that has verified sources with accredited organisations such as recognised universities, colleges, libraries and other seats of learning when it comes to presenting claims.
Do you for instance think that if a newspaper doesn't include it's source of information in regards to sensitive classified information that the information must therefore be false?

Greg Rohs I don’t know where u live but over here in Southern California some planes would fly at very high altitude. These trail they leave behind stays in the sky for hours and spreads out and looks similar to a cloud in a otherwise clear sky. And during this time I see other planes flying by not producing this smoke like stuff. Explain that?

When a planes hot exhaust meets cold air condensation takes place. If there is little high altitude air movement to disperse the exhaust trail they will remain for hours.
You thinking that somehow scientific facts change per location is just sad.

When you look up into the sky and see two planes, one with a trail that disperses and one that lingers and spreads out into the sky and turns into a cloud(yes, if you look at them long enough they turn into long wispy clouds) you start to see some validity in chemtrails.
No actually you don't see validity in chemtrails, the planes are flying at different altitudes and the air doesn't have the same humidity level at each altitude, it's the humidity that causes the contrails to linger and sometimes spread out. In dry air they dissipate more quickly, another thing you may not believe in is that air is thinner at higher altitudes which can also cause vapors to dissipate faster. There is no validity to chemtrails which is why NOBODY has ever answered my question about why politicians would poison the air with mind controlling chemicals when they themselves breathe that air.

I laugh every time I read about the idiots and their belief in chemtrails. First off where are these magic storage tanks in the aircraft? Every available space is either cargo, fuel or passengers. Second, who is servicing these storage tanks?

The contrail longevity is based on humidity, altitude, and wind at the various altitudes. Do some real research for a change.

i Am far from a conspiracy theorist, but my problem with 9/11 is not the twin towers, but Tower 7. It was not hit by a plane, merely a bit of falling debris. Yet the building falls perfectly symetrically into its own footprint. How it can be anything other than a controlled drop i just cannot understand. Even if there was fire, fire is random and chaotic, it does not sever multiple support columns with milisecond precision.

Nobody is claiming the beams were melted, the beams were weakened from the heat so they failed, they never melted and it has been demonstrated that the temperature jet fuel burns at is more than enough to weaken steal beams.

That's...not how physics works. Every force meets with an equal and opposite force, meaning a small upper part of the building can't demolish the much larger, structurally sound building beneath it.
