    Such a smart Idea!!!! Never thought about using a french cleat system for a closet. Genius!!!!

      @@AGlimpseInside I am actually about to make a tool wall using a french cleat system. Unfortunately, I just redid my closet or else I probably would have used this method. But your videos really show how versatile french cleats are. Like also would have never thought about hanging a tv. But anyways, thank you for sharing! Definitely gave me a lot of different ideas

    This is without doubt one of the cleverest (it's a word now 😉) solutions for a closet.
    I'm off to build my own.

    Good idea I need storage in a linen closet. I'm totally hooked on French cleats. I'm in process building a wood shop in a pole barn. I've installed 2 1/2”-3” cleats on the gerts on three walls. I use 3” cleats to hang some cherry cabinets

      Question: how do I install cleats behind bathroom cabinets without the clests showing? Anyway I enjoy your videos! I also get some ideas for using French cleats. Thanks

    I see that you have your Miter saw facing your assembly area how you like that setup? I have mine up against a wall and has to be about a foot away to do the arms.

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  7 років тому

      Aaron Nelson yeah you know what, I pretty much hate it. The dust kind of goes everywhere, however I have a massive fan blowing in that direction out the garage. That way the dust gets blown away by the air movement. I plan on incorporating a small miter station up against where my lumber rack is I just haven't had time to do it yet? Good question haven't been asked that yet!

    • @aaronnelson4065
      @aaronnelson4065 7 років тому +1

      ahh the dust good point, i hate mine being against the wall i lose space, i was trying to think of where else i can put the saw to save space but stay functional.

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  7 років тому

      Aaron Nelson there's got to be a happy medium somewhere. If I had more space facing out the garage, maybe a three car, I would ideally just have all the sawdust shoot out into the driveway, having the miter saw parallel with the garage doors at the entrance

    • @aaronnelson4065
      @aaronnelson4065 7 років тому

      then you have to sweep it up which is what i am trying to avoid especially in winter.

    • @AGlimpseInside

  • @fdort3971

    @AGlimpseInside CHRIS, CHRIS, CHRIS!!! You are my French cleat guy so I had to tell you about my idea!!! I was suddenly inspired by @EverydayBuilds while watching him make a planer cabinet! He made a simple drawer pull that looks like half of the French cleat...that's when it hit me...what if you turned it 45 upwards?! Then you can hang various holders including a tray off the front of your work table instead of taking up space on your tabletop!! Then I realised you can make a shop cart with adjustable height for a flexible outfeed table and have cleats on that too! You said more counter space is your goal so what do you think? I also posted over on his channel and Matthew Peech...I'd love to see your ideas!
