    Hang in there Daniel if you can. I was in the royal navy and got to two weeks in and thought I couldn't carry on. Bawled my eyes out when I called my parents my dad said to preserve and speak to my instructor which I did. And I carried on and loved it. Everyone has that breaking point in basic training it's hard. Good luck to Daniel though. And Sue you are amazing, hang in there too!

    I joined the Army when I was 16 and wanted to leave after a week. I was persuaded to stay a little longer as they said it was just home sickness which is understandable. I eventually retired from the Army after 24 years service, the best times of my life and certainly the best friends that I have ever made and I am still in touch with them to this day. Just for context, I joined in 1974 and left in 1998. I still miss my Army days but like I said still have life long friends that are there for me if I need them (and vice versa). Keep going Daniel, it does get better, basic training is hard but once you pass out it is a different life altogether. You have picked a fantastic career path which I promise you you will not regret.

    My daughter retired last year from the Army here in America. She had almost 25 years in. Its a tough road with basic training but your son will do great with family encouraging him. We have an organization here that began in 1942 during WW2. Its called Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. You may have a similar group in the UK that helps support Mothers and families of active, reserves and national guard as well as veterans. All best wishes to your son and the family who supports and serves also. God bless.

    Tell your son that not many people “enjoy” basic training. I went to basic training 47 years ago, the first couple of weeks are always the hardest because everything is so foreign. But alter the initial induction thing will become routine and he will begin to see why the first few weeks are hard.

    • @ladyp5828
      @ladyp5828 3 роки тому +5

      It’s meant to be hard isn’t it as it’s really meant to push them to the limit as they need to be tough incase of war. If it was easy and nice it would not make for strong resistant fighters. As that’s ultimately what they are isn’t it. I spoke to a man in the army and he said the training is almost meant to break you so they can rebuild you to be the best you can be. I hope he doesn’t give up but if it’s not for him it’s not for him. The army isn’t suitable for everyone is it.

    It appears as though you have a good routine in chaotic times - well done all! I am a learning resource teacher in Canada, we have been in school all year ... trying times show us what we can do! I hope your son perseveres ... the satisfaction will be immense.

    Wow what an amazing mumma you are sue!🥰everyone is moaning about home schooling and your house is full but you are all still managing to get some done even though there are so many children to help get online! I could hear you all and it’s like a busy classroom but lovely because some in pjs and some still having breakfast but it’s a happy house and that’s the most important thing ....such a calm lovely lady💕

    When my friend moved into her old flat a few years ago, someone had glossed the kitchen walls red...it took her 7 coats of white paint and it still was never fully covered!

    OMG my head is spinning just watching that! You guys are doing so well. I live in New Zealand and we've only had two lockdowns. Our first was 4 weeks full lockdown of the whole country then we went to level 3 so some people could return to work but schools remained closed for another 3 weeks (7 weeks homeschooling). Then later in the year we had another two weeks at level 3 - so another two weeks homeschooling. That's it for us so far and it was bad enough with two kids! I can't imagine having to manage that many kids!

    Glad you are back, I was begining to think that you might not be OK. You are doing great with home schooling. People with less children than you are not coping half as well, you are amazing.

    The training for the RAF is brutal, my husband done 14 years but once it’s over it’s a very secure and rewarding job he just needs to be strong! Great career for him and pension but yes it’s tough.

    I missed your vlogs, was checking every day! With all the chaos Sue you still remain so patient and calm! Wonder woman! I definitely recommend headphones for the ones on lessons. My mum got me on house chores young, and I used to clean the bathroom for $5! As an adult I appreciate her making me see the value of things and learning so many life skills - I actually like doing washing too! Maybe you can assign the tasks to some of the older kids, but I guess it's loads easier when they are at school you have more time to manage everything! Stay well and stay strong :)
