I enjoyed it for what it was, but the more I listen the more it sounds like a reworked Money + ending of BONA BONA. I know it’s a YG sound and all, but they could’ve gave them something a bit more “new” for debut.

The rap line did their thing. Song wise, it’s cool…not bad but yes it does have that typical YG sound. Need to hear more from these girls.
Loved it. Its the YG sound. YG himself was heavily involved in Baby Monster. No Teddy. This is all YG and others. Asa also got named credits as one of the composers and lyricist.

I think most of the people who like this mv knows their predebut journey and saw their talents from different performances but as an outsider this is pretty weak debut. Sadly the song is boring as hell and my mind plays Money in the background while listening to this.
I'm sure girls are very talented since they debuted, there'll be lots of oppurtunities to show their talents if they don't fall into yg dangeon.
Btw lots of artists debuts with this "I'm cool" "Swag" vibe without carrying the meaning and I find it funny. You'll gain confidence friends just wait a little more for it.
I hope this is just a prerelease and they'll comeback with a solid and new sound. Good luck to them
No this is not a pre-release, this is their debut song, but they have plenty of opportunities to experiment and find their sound.
What in the Big Bang, 2NE1, BlackPink is going on with YG? Can they just come up with something new and different? It's almost 2024 and it's the same recycled flow and style.

I think it worked overall, but I wish they double dropped their debut like Blackpink did with Boombayah and Whistle so we could have seen the yg hype song and then something a bit more experimental. And agree the hype bit at the end didn't hit as well as it has in the past. I get that that bit is designed for stadium tours to hype the crowd, so I don't mind it being there but they could have broken it down differently. As far as I understand, Teddy isn't going to be involved with Babymonster's music at all, he's focusing on The Black Label and Choice37 is taking the lead on producing for Baemon, though he didn't produce on this.

It’s YG sound, when Blackpink did debut, lot of people said its just copy of 2NE1. YG has certain song structure, they always keep it that way. Its like their identity, when a sound you hear like this, instantly you recognise that its from YG

Is it shocking if I say I dislike this debut even more than O.O by Nmixx? To me, what is worse than trying a new concept and making a bad song, is trying the same old concept and formula and making a bad song. YG has no idea how to innovate in any way for these talented girls.
I hope YG can do the new things for Baby monster. All this song it's sound like Blackpink.

They delivered it hard! and some parts are really catchy, but my only criticism was the too many english lyrics for a debut, but I guess it's a purpose because many of BabyMonster fans are from international
This is just a debut... so I'm still on board, I love this group. But they are too talented to do this music. I'm hoping they lean into the R&B vibe more. Also, you can really feel the absence of Ahyeon here. No one else in the group has that leader vibe yet, I hope she returns soon. I'll support them either way. Looking forward to their stages and first comeback.

It’s normal to feel that way cuz it’s a yg girl group.. I remember when blackpink debuted, everyone was saying it sounds just like 2ne1.. after the first the first year (2-4 songs) people will forget and drop it like they did in blackpink case

it’s growing on me, but honestly, i kind of wish the entire song had sounded more like the last chorus (“listen up everybody, volume up move on” part)… it has *such* a 2NE1 sound in that section, and i feel like with the y2k/2nd gen kpop revival going on right now, that could’ve been a really good marketing point (as well as a fresh sound). it sounds a little bit too much like a blackpink track for my liking, but the girls killed their parts and i love the choreo. i just wish they would have gone with a brighter or more “old school” kpop sound, it clearly suits them really well as seen in that last bit!

Definitely sounds like Blackpink because they were supposed to be the next BP. I see their mannerisms even is Blackpink. Like you guys said, it’s very YG. Can’t dislike it for that but it’s like, not different. They still did a good job. Finally. Took quite a while. After that elimination drama we hadn’t heard anything for months. Already forgot about them until this finally came out.
I dont know.. maybe theyre just not for me. The girls looked really good, and i guess this is good for debut, but i think they maybe built up so much hype pre-debut, that this kinda feels empty. The pre-chorus is the Best part of the song, and thats usually never a good thing. There are couple of parts where its just cringy, so cringy that i had to curl up my fingers and literally cover my eyes. I had the same issue with one of their other songs, and i dont really know whats causing it. Lyrics maybe.. or the acting. Ultimately, ive heard so many worse songs, this is definetly not there, but propably just not for me.
i wish more people talked about rukas rap to. she literally is the embodiment of yg “swag.” :/

YG is creatively and sonically bankrupt. It's a shame cause these girls are truly talented.
The thing I don't like about the song is the bass paired with the kick when they are singing. To me, the bass and kick overpowers the vocalist and does not fit with their vocals, in my opinion, some will probably disagree. That kind thing of turns me off of this song. The bass and kick fit more of a rap style which worked extremely well with the rap, which is the best part of the song. The rap was a 10/10. The bridge and the build-up to the chorus were amazing. The chorus itself was alright. The ending was fine, just another classic YG thing so don't really care about it. It's that bass and kick that ruins the song for me when paired with the vocals, it doesn't sound good to me. This might get me a lot of hate, but in all honesty, I could've made that kind of beat in high school. It's not unique, it's just standard, which for a debut I would have expected for more. Maybe I am being too hypercritical but it is an okay song with some great pieces but not good enough for me to truly like it.
