Yes! Ortega saved City in Anfield. His performance vs Liverpool was very heroic. Then this Spurs game. He conceded only 1 (which was penalty vs United) in FA cup last season. And his saves on Jackson vs Chelsea in this season semifinal were outstanding.
So in one word : yes he did. Man City are champions, congratulations. Its not West Ham that will do a clean sheet at the Etihad...

you see him do 3 saves and all of a sudden his the better than ederson. keep in mind ortega played league 2 in germany before coming to city. he was fortunate city got him, he certainly got a decent pay increase. his also a year older than ederson. when they sign keepers they already know they will be number 2... they dont fight for number 1, he understands that he is a number 2 keeper thats the agreement when they sign backup keepers... he is no doubt the best number 2 keeper (also ramsdale)

You don't know how Ortega's performance would be affected in the role of starting keeper for City - it's a different job with different demands. What Ortega does, he does extremely well, and judging by City's success, Ederson does likewise.

i mean sure as a goalkeeper allround ramsdale is better, but i think ortega is better as a number 2 goalie then ramsdale. having the mentality to always atleast do a job and not try to win your starting spot back in that one performance is the difference between them i think

Don’t want to take away from ortega, but son had the whole goal gaping at him if he had just hit it near post, not saying he 100% missed on purpose, but I think he scores that under regular circumstances, it was like a half-hearted attempt at goal
We have seen Son score many goals like that where he puts it through the keepers legs, or under him ...... Ortega was out of his goal fast, and spread himself, it was an important save ... Son probably just chose the wrong option, and probably should have tried lifting it over Ortega ... but Sons form generally hasn't been as good since Harry Kane left.
Its easier said than done. Son has Dias catching up to him he had to take his shot but Ortega saved it.
Garnacho got many chances(which he missed on purpose) ,if utd played half of what Tottenham played they would have thrashed arsenal
@@samkkx Yeah, Son was under a bit of pressure there, Dias was chasing back, and Ortega was spread in front of him before he knew it, so he only had a second to make up his mind on where he was actually gonna put the ball ..... but, as I've said in another post, we've seen Son score many goals exactly like that in the past, and we're just lucky that he put the ball within Otegas reach on this occasion.
