  • Flow visualizations are used to explore the exact journeys customers have with your brand. Flow can be applied to Pages, Marketing channels, and any other dimension or mix of dimensions that you collect. For more information, visit:

    I kept using the old reporting and analytics options, as it was impossible to properly visualize and interpret the flows. But this is really a nice improvement. Happy with 'include repeat instances' option and combining with internal search term.

    Is there any way to change the flow visualisation to a table format?

    Why is this not working for me? I tried exactly the same, but it won't do the same, it forces me to filter by the page or URL... Am I doing anything wrong?

    This is an awesome update!
    Flow Visualisation is such a powerful tool, and I'm glad to see this continuing to be developed.
    How long until the "create segment from this path" is available with these latest updates?
    Also, has there been any thought towards adding in "tool tips" to this kind of visualisation (e.g. path x>y>z shows conversion rate of 10%)?

      We are planning to add back that right-click functionality in the June 13 release! Your tooltip suggestion would be a great idea to add to our forums - adobe.ly/aaforum. We'd love to learn more about what you are looking for there.

    @Adobe How do you get Internal Search Term added as a dimension?

  • @rachels3449

    In this example it shows one of the paths to be Search. Does this mean users are going into the actual search navigation box area?

      Hi Rachel - when the Page dimension is being demoed, "search results" is the page that comes up with results after someone types in a search word on the website. So exactly what you are thinking. When the Marketing Channel dimension is being demoed, "Paid search" and "natural search" refer to offsite marketing happening on search engines.

    Thank you for this video. When using Mixed Dimensions, is the Flow visualization still only counting instances or does it revert back to using all hits?

    • @adobeanalytics3740
      @adobeanalytics3740  5 років тому

      It will use instances or de-duped instances if you have chosen to exclude repeats. It will only use all hits if a multi-valued dimension (e.g. product, listVar, merch eVars, etc) has been mixed in.

      @@adobeanalytics3740 That's really awesome - our organization stopped using most props so it was the main hurdle keeping me from using this powerful tool! I will give it another try now.

      @@mfpole @adobe analytics could you share what's the difference between Instances or Hits?

    This is great! But how can you view the flow of an individual URL without having to create a segment for each PageURL? For example, my current Freeform table is set up to show a specific URL prefix using the Page URL (eVar28) and is tracking the Page Views, Unique Visits, and Yes/No Rating metrics. I need to see where the traffic is coming from and going to for those specific URLs.

    • @EricMatisoff

      Hi Rachael - are you able to click the arrow to the right of eVar28 in order to list all the values of that dimension? You can then find the specific value of eVar28 that you'd like to flow to/from and drag that as an Item into the center of the Flow diagram. Does that help?

    when we place a dimension in exits, does it show the exits from the site or exits from the path and user followed another path?

    • @adobeanalytics3740
      @adobeanalytics3740  5 років тому +1

      That means the user exited from that particular dimension.
      If you use Pages, then it's likely the user exited from the site altogether because every hit has a page associated with it.
      If you use another dimension that is not set on every hit (e.g. Internal Search Term eVar), then the exit represents the last known value for that dimension, but there could be additional hits before a true site exit.
      Hope that helps!
