ERCOT: Benchmark battery energy storage revenues in real-time

Real-time revenue tracking for ERCOT batteries starts now. No more delays.
ERCOT publishes its Market Disclosure data 60 days after the fact.
So, right now, you can only see actual confirmed revenues through the end of March.
And this is fine, if you want to assess historical performance.
But it's pretty useless if you’re trying to benchmark your battery’s revenues closer to real-time.
So, we’ve come up with a way to calculate battery revenues on a daily basis, up to the present.
It’s a bit like a forecast, but the output is what’s happening now.
So, how does it work?
Well, our real-time benchmark uses a unique combination of:
physical charge and discharge data,
weighted Real-Time Market prices at battery resource nodes,
daily Ancillary Service responsibility,
and historical battery participation levels in all these markets.
And, when we backtested this methodology against actual 2024 revenues, we found a 99.8% correlation.
