You are right, this video solves only part of the problem. It took me forever to figure it out but finally managed! This is my how to set up the printer: Step 1) first you need to connect the printer to the internet (various options, I use my printer at home and managed this by using the WPS button on my router and the Wi-Fi button on the control panel of the printer) It's relatively straight forward: switch on the printer at the back, then press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for 2-3 seconds. Then walk to your router (hopefully not too far as you have to do this next step within 2 minutes:-) and press the WPS button on the router. Wait patiently and hope the connection is successful - it is when the Wi-Fi button changes from flashing to continuous blue lighting. Then Step 2) print out the configuration page by switching ON the printer WHILST pressing the Stop/Start button on the control panel of the printer. Obviously you have to switch off the printer after step 1) in order to be able to switch it back on :-) On page 1 you will find the IP address - you will need it later on. Step 3) Do as you told on this video above (if you like me, do not have a CD driver in your laptop) by downloading the driver and adding the printer to your computer. Step 4) add the printer to the computer by using - Settings (on my laptop) choose 'Devices' then 'Printers and scanners' and 'Add a printer or scanner'. -After searching for it and nothing comes up choose 'The printer I want isn't listed' and from the options choose the 'Add a printer using TCP/IP address' - On the pop up window choose 'Device type' from the drop down menu: 'TCP/IP device' then type in the IP address (the one which is on the configuration page you just printed out). Uncheck the 'Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use' then click Next. -Print test page to check if it works As I didn't do it in this order to start off with (as I just simply downloaded the driver and hoped for the best as seen on this video) once I added the new Ricoh printer to my laptop it didn't work. I have a feeling even if I would have done it in the right order Step 4) is still needed. All the best: fellow previously frustrated but now very happy printer user
@@violalili It just doesn't want to work. At first time the blue light was continuous, I printed the configuration pages. I gave the IP address and it just couldn't find it. :( I think I have to install Linux again.
@@violalili thank you. Was almost tempted to send it back, neither the CD nor the driver download were working. Now I can finally use it normally tho, thanks to you :)
wow! thank you so much... nice a simple to follow.
If you do one for wifi connection I'd appreciate it
LPT1 didn't work for me, I had to select USB001 (Virtual printer port).
Danke 😊
Bhai how to connect it with wifi?
didn't work for me. I'll try a different printer port.
I did the same steps on my own before this video. It does not work. So how can I print with this junk? Thank you

Step 4 is very important. With step 4 (tcp/ip) it works with my win 10 computer. By wifi.
@@violalili You're a life saver, I done exactly instructed :)

This doesn't show how to install it with the in-built WiFi.
