It's SO NICE to see how much you LOVE each other. Claudine, you are so blessed to have one the foremost respected chefs of the world as your Papa and he is so blessed to have a daughter who loves him as is so evident that you do. I love watching you together.
I have served Claudine and sold her what her family would be cooking for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is such a lovable woman and so supporting of the small time butchers. Truly amazing people
Pepin exudes class without the pretentiousness. He's proud to be an American and took full advantage of the opportunities this country has to offer. He will always be French but he recognizes America is what made him what he is. This is a great country and I wish the younger generation would realize that more these days. France and the US are more connected than most young people realize, after all, Democracy is a French invention and our most iconic monument, the Statue of Liberty came from France.
I am really enjoying sharing these videos with my daughter, a vegetarian. He always talks about how to make some things differently. Love this teacher!
Thank you for this...I will watch anything he does, so relaxing 😌 and so informative...he is a chef, an artist, and master teacher and I have to add such a loving husband, father and grandfather. And he has such pleasure with life. Oh, did I say writer...yes I lost track of how many books he has given us. What a guy as I saw Gloria say to him on a video.
It's not really like that, imo. I just kind of find it humorous that she is like clueless as to what is going on when he's cooking. It's still okay though, nobody should expect anyone to be good at everything. But she is on a television show, completely inept. Isn't it just kind of funny? Lol
I read somewhere that she really understands what is going on. She "dumbs down" in order to highlight her father and keep things moving. Too, she is supposed to be a wine expert and has a business related to that.
@@camerondailey2627 The only funny thing here is you. You have no respect for the whole concept that Jacques Pepin wishes to instill in everyone.. the love of the kitchen and cooking. She is not inept or clueless, she is his daughter and is participating with him and loving every minute of it. YOU hang your head in shame, buddy.
Such a smart man. That tip about molding the foil around the outside of the bowl first. How many times have I driven myself nuts trying to go about it the opposite way. Thanks Jacques ☺️!
The first time that dessert was made was no doubt some inexperienced baker who messed up the cake but was innovative as hell to fill it all up and make a classy outcome. I love french chefs!
Sweet show. Very festive.Great turnout, excellent food.Going to try and be more delicate the next time I make salmon.Definitely the same baby in the picture😄.Perfect documentation of a 4th of July celebration. Cheers and good fomenting to you all.Keep watching Essential. Happy cooking...
I'm not good in computer but I'm so happy to discover this episode definitely made my day. I was surprised the date was 2009 Doesn't matter. I only have top chefs in my life one of them is Mr Pepin
I enjoyed watching the Chef and his daughter. I never seen anything you people were talking about. I seen a daughter showing respect towards her father and her father showing respect towards his daughter. You people are awful......grow up!!
Well I wish people had copies of original episodes of Julia and Jaques cooking at home with the funding The ultra rare Jaques Pepin‘s kitchen cooking with Claudine
Well if you think the greatest chef of all time ‘Jacques Pepin’ is being mean to his daughter than you’re mistaken.. He is empowering his daughter. If you can’t see that, then have fun explaining to your son why he doesn’t have a girlfriend when he plays Fortnite for 12 hrs per day.
I'd watch a video hosted by Claudine. Why not?? As long as it was good procedure and resulted in a tasty meal, get over yourselves. She's as viable as the HoJo soda jerk everybody espouses. (Edited) You go girl!!
At 6:31, Jacques put some sort of liquor into the berry/jam mix, but the subtitles make it out to be "Gears Rother," but that's not it, does anyone know what went in there, I can't see the bottle or hear the item mentioned; anyway happy independence day.
His daughter is not inept! She's "playing" the part of a novice cook at home and the questions they might have and the mistakes they might make--sheesh, get a freaking clue!
His daughter should find something else to do she only gets in his way I believe she only wants to drink wine that's the only thing she does rite she probably get paid what a leach
Only thing I have problems with is that Summer Pudding is British, not American. Frankly, this is the only time I've ever seen anyone in USA even mentioning it, and this chef is European :-D It is a great pudding, though, and should get more attention, perfect for any Summer.
And perhaps serving typically British, but not very common in USA, dessert at "a French-American fusion celebration of the Independence Day and Bastille Day" isn't very "all-American" in spite of any "unknown connection between America and England"? What's wrong with a good old pie? Or serving the good old all-American sponge cake with the good old all-American ice cream?
I don't see "all the time", just sometimes. But when he says "you're doing it wrong" she is! She is not being submissive, she is deferring to the pro. Surprised she has not picked up more skills from her parents. The show is about teaching good cooking, not gooey family interaction.
Titine's role here is to play the regular mostly clueless person, and allow that person to not feel stupid for asking some questions that are common sense to anyone with a bit of experience let alone a pro. I believe Jacques is and was a great father. If anything Titine was a bit spoiled it seems.
I have served Claudine and sold her what her family would be cooking for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is such a lovable woman and so supporting of the small time butchers. Truly amazing people
We are so PROUD of having you, Mr. Pepin,, as our fellow American. You are a national treasure here!

I do. I just LOVE the Chef. ;-)

“A piece in my mouth” … and he hands another piece to Claudine. Love them!
I love these shows with his daughter, so sweet, she is so respectful of her dad.
I do not understand why some people had to put the thumbs down , he is the best
Claudine is such a lovely assistant to DAD, just love them 💖
I love this Gentleman. What a fantastic, creative chef he is. This Salmon is above and beyond the ultimate. Thank You. 🍃🌎🕊

Wonderful after all these years.
This man's relationship with his daughter seems amazing. How can people find something wrong with it? Jealousy is a disgusting thing

I wish i had a papa like him.
According to Jacques biography book he's only been married once and that is to Gloria and Claudine is her daughter.
such creative dishes on this video! WONDERFUL!
JP: "That's exactly what you don't want to do." ... Daughter: "Excellent." :)

Jacques Pepin has owned several restaurants.
Well, this is the south of France !
Pétanque, Pastis... ;)
Happy cooking!!
petanque is hilarious. i lived for a month in south france and the postal workers spent all day playing petanque instead of doing their jobs
you might want to upload one more video, that number spooks me out!!

I tried to laugh, but I ended up crying...Too many chefs spoil the whole episode
I prefer videos with just Jacques cooking.
old school gentleman .. cooking very simple not like new cooks
Nice
“What’s red in it ????” 😠🤣
Merde? I thought this was a family show LOL.
Woohoo. =)

It was cognac or Hennessey
Kirschwasser is what he says before the Cognac, it is a cherry brandy.
Kirschwasser (cherry liqueur) and cognac.

Does anyone know if Gloria is Claudine's mother or if Jacques was married before, is Claudine 1/4 Cuban and 1/4 Puerto Rican?
Gloria was Claudine's mother, yes. She died this last year. She was Jacque's first wife. They were married in 1961.
So? Commenting
such a waste growing up with a dad whos such a great chef and not learning to cook
His daughter is not inept! She's "playing" the part of a novice cook at home and the questions they might have and the mistakes they might make--sheesh, get a freaking clue!
They made french pemmican
Pemmican was dried, however. Rillettes are anything but dry.

great chef but his daughter is really so so , actually the show without her will be much better
His daughter should find something else to do she only gets in his way I believe she only wants to drink wine that's the only thing she does rite she probably get paid what a leach
39:57 sounds like a fart
The girl is clueless
She is not. She is doing her part as the "inexperienced cook" to let her Dad show the correct technique. She knows her stuff.
Only thing I have problems with is that Summer Pudding is British, not American. Frankly, this is the only time I've ever seen anyone in USA even mentioning it, and this chef is European :-D It is a great pudding, though, and should get more attention, perfect for any Summer.
Ketutar Jensen Hmmm I wonder if perhaps the is some unknown connection between America and England.

What's wrong with a good old pie? Or serving the good old all-American sponge cake with the good old all-American ice cream?
I hate to tell you this but Americans didn't invent pie or ice cream.
No respect.
she obviously has no self confidence thanks to her dad telling her she does everything wrong all the time. so uncomfortably to watch
He's just french and you are american, different way of parenting.
I don't see "all the time", just sometimes. But when he says "you're doing it wrong" she is! She is not being submissive, she is deferring to the pro. Surprised she has not picked up more skills from her parents.
