Sure 2nd & 3rd classes are cheaper, but the reason I take them is to meet people. 1st class is an isolation chamber. You go to foreign countries to meet the people there, to have a memorable experience. 2nd class is called coupe, it's 4 beds per compartment. The conductor lowers the beds at night & gives clean sheets, blanket, & pillow. There's a big window & a little table, bring your own traditional sausage, dark bread, beer, boiled eggs. During day it's 2 seats facing 2 seats. Fellow travelers are glad to tell you about the region, & give tips about your destination city.

The train sink “spigot” reminds me of an old soap dispenser I used at school when I was a kid, very strange that the spigot was designed this way? I do love Ukrainian food that dish looked good!
It’s just rust stains from old rusty pipes or old tubs in the laundry plant. Looks unattractive but it’s in no way unclean or toxic. Once stained, the stains are hard to remove, and require special treatment.
Ukrainian trains obviously still have room for improvement, like sheets and towels cleanliness, and AC situation. In some trains AC has only two modes of operation: sauna and freezer. But toilets and the website have definitely been improved recent couple of years. Before, it was hard to buy a ticket online even if you speak Ukrainian )))
The spots on the sheets and towels are just rust stains. Not so bad compared to conditions in other countries and means of travel. Once the light is out you won't care.
Those stains look like bedbug remains. When they're squashed, they leave behind blood (sometimes red sometimes brown) and it can stain sheets permanently. Make sure you watch out for any bedbugs that got on your stuff (they're hidey! and can really only be killed by squashing or Really high heat, like an industrial dryer), but the sheet could've easily been from another compartment, or even another train if the sheets are washed as often as they should be. Though, that one definitely should've been thrown away. :D Thanks for sharing this part of your journey!
On older trains is you lift up the lower berth, you'll find storage there. I love your train videos, and nothing beats an overnight train. Probably the most fun you can have while on the move.
I am so exited about the next video where you guys gonna explore Lviv!! The place where I was born. Very interesting 😍 Thank you for that! Love your videos!
That train ride bring so many memories. As a kid I used to travel from Minsk to Crimea when its still was a part of Ukrain on trains like this one. The second I saw the sink I was like "let's see if they'll figure it out" haha. There usually space for storage under the bad, like you have to lift the top of the bad up. Like a trunk of sorts. Great video guys as always!
My nighttime routine is watching you guys before I go to bed, i don’t even know if that’s weird 😆 it’s just relaxing and entertaining and I get excited to wind down and listen to your voices regularly
I always bring my own bed sheets and towel. They are soft, large enough and roll up a size of a mango, just never know the cleanest of what your are sleeping on. Wonder did you use the water from the bathroom sink to rinse your mouth? I would bring bottle water to rinse and drink.
Could you guys do a backpack/luggage organization video?? I'm so curious to see how you guys pack so minimally for all your traveling :) love your videos!!
guys! you're so lucky. believe me(maybe 50 train travels over Ukraine) 1st class wagon could be much worse, it's rather most recent model(it does not depends on class and poorly affects price - costy 1st class in the same train may be worse than cheaper 2nd class wagon!). just for you to know, there are also dozen of day-time speed trains called "Intercity" for specific directions. There are chairs only and no private space, but they are 50% faster, have a cafe with hot food and coffee and sometimes there is even free internet through WiFi(it depends). consider that option, if you are still in Ukraine.
That bathroom stuff was made for water economy, because some people just turn on water and proceed brushing their teeth, with such mechanism as in those bathroom it's impossible to waste lot of water
This video is such good representation of married life. 😆 I send my husband to any bathrooms first to figure out things (and to kill the germs😅). Also to figure out showers and taps cause I fail most of the time at that.. also the part where nate says it's not too bad is kinda the same scenario that happens. Well its bad enough for me and I would rather carry my towel. Always keep a hand towel or even a handkerchief (the big one ) in my bagpack. Its way better than what public transportation offers.
Wow your channel is amazing. I love all your videos so much and I’ve learned so much after watching your vidoes. I wish you all the best for the years ahead.

I am so exited about the next video where you guys gonna explore Lviv!! The place where I was born. Very interesting 😍 Thank you for that! Love your videos!
love from 🇧🇩Bangladesh dear KARA N NATE...hope u will visit this beautiful country soon..good wishes.. Go Ahead❤
FYI: Actually Crimea still is a part of Ukraine lol
Crimea is Ukraine. It's simply occupied by Russian colonizers currently.
The old amenities is what gives ukrainian train rides the charm! Did the train make it to the destination? Yes? Then it’s a success! Lol.
my family history is around Lviv, very polish part of the Ukraine and very safe. this area is way the flag is gold and blue, golden wheat and blue sky
I look forward to you new uploads and LOVE YOUR ENERGY and Kara I ADORE YOU A TON!!!
Hi Kara and Nate, I love your videos so please keep them up, I am a viewer from Denmark. ❤️🇩🇰🇺🇸
Thank you 💗
That is 100x better than my apartment in NY. There is washer, radiator/heat ect
You must like living on the edge, always just making your transportation.
My nighttime routine is watching you guys before I go to bed, i don’t even know if that’s weird 😆 it’s just relaxing and entertaining and I get excited to wind down and listen to your voices regularly
I lived one year in the Ukraine. So I'm very used to the stuff you see there. It's funny to see how you react.
Kara: I could think of a few things
Nate:😳😌
I always bring my own bed sheets and towel. They are soft, large enough and roll up a size of a mango, just never know the cleanest of what your are sleeping on. Wonder did you use the water from the bathroom sink to rinse your mouth? I would bring bottle water to rinse and drink.
Could you guys do a backpack/luggage organization video?? I'm so curious to see how you guys pack so minimally for all your traveling :) love your videos!!
Your train videos are my favourite
guys! you're so lucky. believe me(maybe 50 train travels over Ukraine) 1st class wagon could be much worse, it's rather most recent model(it does not depends on class and poorly affects price - costy 1st class in the same train may be worse than cheaper 2nd class wagon!).
just for you to know, there are also dozen of day-time speed trains called "Intercity" for specific directions. There are chairs only and no private space, but they are 50% faster, have a cafe with hot food and coffee and sometimes there is even free internet through WiFi(it depends). consider that option, if you are still in Ukraine.
Oh boy, I remember that level of tired during my travels. Interesting bathrooms.😄
I love your channel so much, it's amazing how much energy you have to explore the world. You guys are the best! it would be my dream to meet you!!
love is...swopping sheets and towels with your hunni...AND THEN SNIFFING THEM! above and beyond that man!x
Wow your channel is amazing. I love all your videos so much and I’ve learned so much after watching your vidoes. I wish you all the best for the years ahead.
Thank you 💙💙💙
The overnight train from Thompson to Churchill (Manitoba, Canada). Been on that one twice, both were school trips so all my friends were there as well. The train was my favourite part of those trips.
Love your videos, I really enjoy watching your videos😍🌍
Good memories! Took a train from Kiev to Lviv, also. Economy, you get to extra bunk beds, which were great for storage.
Welcome to Lviv!
Nothing like a Kara and Nate video notification as soon as you check your phone ❤️ Have you guys made any more posts about that meet and greet y’all were possibly having in Nashville??
We have not posted about it any more, but lots of things happening behind the scenes!!!! 👏🏻

An hour until your train and you go to a restaurant? I'd be panicking!!
Also, including switzerland on your scale will always leave you disappointed :(
Love Puzata Hata restaurants! It is one of our favourites. As for storage, lift up the bench. It is empty and there is where you put luggage.
You guys are crazy haha! Love your positivity even when you're tired!😂♥️
😁💗
That tour guide was so wholesome
Your train adventures are some of my faves!
Love your channel guys you inspire me to be like you guys and Kara is so sweet
Love watching your vlogs while feeding baby at 3am - am struggling to sympathise with your tiredness though.. at least when you go to sleep a crying baby won’t wake you again in 3 hours!! 😝
You go girl! I have a lot of respect for good mamas 💪🏻👏🏻❤️ my “tiredness” definitely doesn’t compare to yours!
You too need a vacation from all the travel... maybe an extended stay at a quite beach resort in portugal's west coast, good food, rest relax... the sea does do wonders, if you take the time.
Well, you HAVE to try trains in Japan, it’s out of this world.
You are all so relaxed and laid back in this one! Way to go!
I'm sad you didn't show more in Kyiv itself. There's so much there!
Lviv is wonderful. Amazing choice.
Trains in Ukraine suuuuuuck.
the shelf where people are sleeping/sitting rises up and you can put your lugagge there
You guys are the best!So happy that you have been posting so many videos lately!keep going and congrats!
