602 - How I beat Legends Arceus while keeping every species at the FULL Shiny Odds

- This was a very meticulous playthrough that I was VERY curious to attempt. I wanted to see if it was possible to keep every species of Pokemon that naturally spawns in the wild below a Dex Research level 10. Here's how I pulled it off!

Yes, Phione can spawn in the wild, but it is still shiny locked, so it still falls under the same category I specify in the video!

There's nothing quite like challenging yourself to try something a video game very clearly does NOT want you to do. Even better when it actually ends up being possible. Great video on an idea I'd never have thought up for an Arceus playthrough!
The best one i ahve seen so far is beating skyrim's college of winterhold (the magic school/guild of the game) without any magic

My younger sibling has found a bunch of shinnies since they got Legends: Arceus for their birthday about two weeks ago. They've had more luck finding shiny Pokemon in almost three weeks then I have had in my over a decade of playing Pokemon. xD
Yeah this game seams kinder with shines. Well in my case. Before I had a long shiny drought in shield and shining pearl. Oct- Jan/ Feb I want to say. I wanted to find my own shiny in legends but caved and did the Ponyta quest (like the red Gyarados) I still didn't count it as an actual shiny because the game gives you it but then I found an actual shiny Paras, and then more came.
yup the mass spawn and overworld shiny certainly helps a lot
I got almost three box full of shinies before I put down the game since there's nothing else to do
I think that change is for the better
Older shinies were there to create legends as the internet wasn't as widespread yet , creating a mystery and school stories of extremely rare pokemon
Now everyone knows shinies exist and many actively hunt them, they served their purpose back in the day and now they are a kind of "collector's item" for dedicated fans to find all of them and for casual players to experience a few to give satisfaction for owning something rare
Birthday Shinies are the best I got 3 four years in a row then missed my chance last year in Sword, I got Shiny Shinx in Platinum with Radar in 2020, Magnemite in 2019 with SOS, and Pupitar in Y Friend Safari in 2018, super amazing happy for your cousin ^-^b Hope you get your own Shiny soon!
I actually did this on my shiny only playthrough and main file of legends arceus, the only ones I got level 10 were the ones that I already got full odds shinies of for my playthrough
I've been wanting to try for a playthrough that stayed full odds and wasn't sure if it was possible! Very cool to see that it is doable, and I really appreciate having this as a guide for how to navigate it - thank you!!
This was a really interesting topic to cover! I'm a method and full odds hunter, but I have had other online friends like Chrissy, upset over not being able to Full Odds Hunt in this game. Glad to see it's possible! Good job Matt :)

For the unown when your in the solocian ruins you can sleep to morning then check, go back and sleep to night and hunt your unowns that way still keeping the 1/4096 and still reloading them without resets.
I thought unown don't spawn in the ruins until you've caught all static ones? Doing so perfects their dex entry, so hunting full odds unown is impossible
@@LoveBrony you can get the last ones in the town and enter the ruins and then you can hunt them at full odds keep in mind that talking to the professor would update the pokedex so you would sleep to reload the spawns to keep hunting them at full odds.

I've been seeing the comments and I have to ask. Does making a Pokedex entry at level 10 research count as completing it or do I have to complete every research task for it to work? Because I want the shiny charm. Or do I just need to see that pokemon for it to count?
an entry counts as completed when you get research level 10. to get the shiny charm you get level 10 on every entry including arceus!

They never disobeyed once! Strange...
They can be disobedient in PLA if you don’t have the proper star rank, I think? I’ve experienced that if it’s a high level Pokémon you catch before you get the star rank. Pretty sure Absol explained this in the video, tho. XD

Oddly for me.... Sinnoh is the ONLY region i ever got a shiny in.
A long lost shiny steelix(game save corrupted after a field trip) and shiny mantyke and now a full odds alpha ralts (now gardevoir. I give you 3 guesses on what level it was).
I am almost positive that Overqwil can be found in the wild. I have one and I have never even put it in my party, or fed it any xp candy. I believe that I only could have caught it in the wild.
It's only available in massive mass outbreaks and the story one in exile (which is shiny locked if catchable)
Absol is my 2nd fav pokemon
Could have made it much less long to transfer if u used pokemon home (free version only got 30 spaces but u would just need 2 acc on one switch)

You need to do all of the research tasks completely so it’s not full odds
? I'm not sure what you mean. If it's below research level 10, it's full odds, and you can get to Arceus just by capturing them all

Fun fact for anyone trying this: If you have living dex from PLA in home, you can transfer it into PLA and it gives you the catch task for all right away :)
With Home out now, I feel a lot like Sisyphus in your prof pic doing this with trading instead of Home transfers LOL

Question, has anyone found an alpha from the shaking rocks yet? I found only one and it was a graveler. It surprised me but luckily, my team was able to handle it no problem. It was also in the beginning area so that could have been bad if I found it randomly

I’m actually attempting the complete all tasks however if have to complete all the tasks I can before moving on to the next area. (Space Time Distortions are not required to do but you can if you want) Also if a Pokemon appears in a future area like Machamp, Golem, Gardevoir, Gallade basically the fully evolved Alpha Pokemon. You can complete those in the areas you can find them in
I might not understand why anyone would want to full odds shiny hunt, but I can still admire the dedication it takes to set up a file in this game for that purpose.
9:37 As oppose to BDSP, you actually have to catch the pokemon to register them in your pokedex. Maybe catch the dustox and see if that works :)

I started a shiny quest and got a shiny sylveon and started hunting rolycoly and I started like 2 minutes ago and just found one

Not strictly a full-odds Shiny hunter myself, but that's still really cool that full-odds Unown hunts are in fact possible in this. Would not have thought of that at all.

So much work and dedication put into NOT increasing the Shiny Odds. This is madness, but the kind of madness I can admire.
I've been thinking about it, and I have yet to see anyone else bring it up: Attempting to reach level 100 - by only grinding off of the Alpha Blissey in the Obsidian Fielands / In The Heartwood. You can cheese your way up the side of the mountain using Wyrdeer, I found that out when a Shiny Machoke spawned there for me. Long before I had access to Sneasler. 😭

I started watching your videos 2 weeks ago ever since I’m addicted to your content especially your sword and shield movies and shiny reactions keep up the great content
i unfortunately ended up losing my whole switch shiny collection because my console fell into our couch’s reclining section and got crushed to death. So I guess pretty much my only hope of ever seeing them again is to try getting the internal card out and transplanting it into a new switch, which is a pretty daunting task since I don’t have the right toolset or really any knowledge on how to do stuff like that. Tbh I’m not even totally sure the card’s safe and undamaged in there. But in the meantime, I started up a new PLA save on my roommate’s switch, and I managed to recover two of my previous shinies and find a third new one before even going up against Kleavor. Gotta love those PLA shiny odds 😂
Hey i have a cool idea for another video i kinda stole that idea from johnstone but the idea is to get every ribbon available in the pokemon series on one pokemon. Its grindy but since you got every single alcremie i dont think you really care about grinind in pokemon games lol

Full odds hunting for me are an absolute last resort. I know shinies are dime a dozen in Legends Arceus but I like that I can feasibly fill in a shiny dex without spending months on a single mon. It still takes hours or even days per encounter despite the ridiculous odds. I went through at least 25 MMO and even did a full permutation method for Quilava and voltorb and got nothing. I had to perfect the dex for voltorb and then found one normally without any MMO.
and that's totally understandable! I know a lot of people who prefer the end result over the hunt itself, and being able to complete a shiny dex is super cool. As I always say, shinies are more about personal value than ANYTHING else, and if you are having a good time with it, no matter what you're doing, it's valid!

That’s not a dustox, that’s a venomoth, that’s why it wasn’t registered, venomoth isn’t in hisui.
tip for anyone doing this: do NOT choose cyndaquil. its only two moves until level 11 complete research tasks, so you won't be able to avoid using them. the other two don't have this issue. rip 15 minutes of my life

I'm beyond words surprised that you went this far! I like getting full odds shiny encounters, but I like having the charm. Even though I've had what feels like less shiny encounters since I got it. Lol.
When I was playing through the story I accidentally died from the top of the tower where you get the Braviary mount. I went back to the top of the tower and found a Shiny Braviary. I had not previously seen a Braviary yet.
I only had battled it once

you got obedience wrong, ive had pokemon i caught disobey me when theyre over levelled in multiple games
I've trained Pokemon to level 100 early on in tons of different games and have never once had an obedirnce problem for Pokemon I caught on that file. Please elaborate further on which games this happened in. Disobedience is only the case for Pokemon without your OT OR hacked in Pokemon like Mew who weren't met via fateful encounter (exclusive to 3rd gen, I think)
