  • In this part I show the details of the sign, reassemble, and do a final polishing of the sign face. After all that, I wait until dark, to give it a test. Now it looks like nothing happened to the sign!

I can't tell you the last time I've seen a Texaco station. They used to be all over New England. It's the brand that my dad usually bought. Now I think they are only down south and out west. There used to be 3 or 4 of them in my hometown. All of them closed and were torn down except one that is now Citgo. Nice job getting the sign all spiffed up.

Yes, they are pretty common around here, and have many on my route. Texaco is getting a brand refresh starting this year. I have one done, and it looks sharp.
      Thanks! I enjoyed this project.

Nothing is ever perfect close up, so no need to beat yourself up about it. As for all of us out here in Interwebzland, it looks BRAND new! Only thing that would make it even better is if it were preheat, but even rapid start as it is, looks pretty nice lighting up!

Thanks! Yeah it turned out pretty well overall.
That would be cool! However, when someone asks if I want a brand new, in the box Texaco sign, I say yes, no questions asked. I have a Texaco on my route with the modern version, missing face. I need to record that one with boring err ee dee strips inside.
