Josh probably has the widest vocal range of all singers today. He can talk low, sing high and still maintain an amazing tone. People only dislike because they're jealous.
3 speed Sting-Ray they are plugged in playing acoustic guitars. I do like when artists play acoustic sets. One of my favorite live shows was when Govt Mule did one of their rare live acoustic first sets before blasting into a hard rocking second set. It was on a quiet, snowy evening, so the somber mood was already set.
Sometimes I hear zepplin, sometimes i hear a little Rush, always i hear greatness when listening to Greta Van Fleet! They are one of a kind and amazing!!!
Was skeptical at first to see the drummer and bassist also playing guitars but..... holy shit that was amazing. Those guitar harmonies and THOSE VOCALS :O Too good.
the bass player is what i really think what holds it all together , just looking him playing bass you know that he was a guitar player before holding down the bass possy , correct me if i am wrong he also plays key boards?
Just badass. Only just discovered them a couple months ago. There is just not nearly enuff Greta Van Fleet in the World yet. My favorite band, hands down
Shane S. He he he. You could look at it that way, and I won't argue. There's power in Josh's vocals. Imo, I too think Plant's voice is better. Going bavk 40 years, some of my friends didn't like Geddy Lee's voice, or even Rik Emmett's voice. I liked voice in all different ranges, if it flowed with the music. The early clips of Josh's voice is a stark comparison to today's version. He wasn't as high in pitch. Check out the recent posting of their early '12-'14 material if you haven't listened to it yet.
Dredge hate you? Jeez, we're just shootin'the breeze about music. Rik's voice is still terrific. Of course, he cannot hit the high notes like he used to, but he gets close enough. I'm going to see Rik for the 9th time solo this Sept. Rik and Dave Dunlap are great duo guitar show.
Sam1973. Those guitar harmonies, as well as the riffs are as rudimentary as it gets. Fans who tout the musicality of these beginners do not know what they are talking about.Compare their ability to what the dinosaur rockers had when they were this age, and you are left with a garage band that has a cool singer.
Mike Frank Less is more. As technology and skill advances with music, it’s more than refreshing to hear a mainstream band actually playing guitar.- Be it simple or not; it sounds cool.
Sam 1973.True enough. These guys have something, and that is enough these days. Neil Peart once said, You don't have be a virtuoso to make a great song or have a great groove. But sometimes when you ascribe to the kiss ( keep it simple stupid) formula you sometimes end up with love (leave out virtually everything). Glad there are many kinds of music to enjoy. Cheers. I was in ninth grade in 1973.
Brian Stewart Ever heard of the Wentzel Brothers Band? They are younger than Greta Van Fleet, but less popular. They have some good 70s rock sounding originals.
He likes to sing with no effects to display his vocal ability from what I've heard. It's a personal preference, but I agree. he could use just a touch of reverb to fill out the sound.
Ben Scott oh for sure he can do it but I mean we already know he can he doesn't have really a whole lot more to prove put some effects on it'll make it a better experience for us the listener I'm not saying T-Pain auto-tune just something to fill it out
I am happy to see a young band like these guys making it, I have a son that worked his tail off to make it and just never got there. He had high hopes and I had high hopes for him. He plays several instruments and wrote his own music and lyrics, many I thought were radio worthy. I am sure many really good and worthy bands don't get there but I am happy to see these guys doing it. I stumbled on them while looking for video's of The Revivalists and glad I did.
We are witnessing the beginning of a music machine that will be around for a very long time, never stop guys your all 4 awesome and we love your music! THANK YOU!!!
Spectacular band! & AWESOME LIVE PERFORMANCES! 3 Nights sold out in DETROIT! Cant wait till the FOX THEATER!!! There is no denying the multiple talents these 4 young musicians possess! ✌
Simply amazing. Love these guys. So talented. All great musicians including the drummer who joins the crew with a guitar on this amazing acoustic performance. Awesome. May you all have a great career.
You can see how nervous this guy was in the beginning of the video, but he nailed it. They all are brilliant, this is a band i respect for the new generation. Respect to Detroit.🤘
This tune cooks when it is done on acoustic guitar. The original recording with electric guitars is the shit. But when these guys do this with acoustics the tune COOKS.
Such fucking bullshit when people talk about how they miss classic rock in todays music scene - then go on to bash such a pristine band like GvF. This is the healthiest thing to have ever happened to modern music....
i’m high asf and came back to this video and i’m geeking out the way the background vocal mics are mute and watching them sing into it bro lmfao the mixing guy did them dirty lmao
00:19 "Crap, I'm a bassist, what do I do here?" Just kidding bro! I love you guys! Most kick ass band I've heard in years! Wish you all lots of success!
I like this! They should do a whole unplugged live show and put it out on 💿 CD! I think their songs sound great acoustically! Can someone suggest it to them? I’d buy a CD like this! A DVD too!
This band is for real, so what the singer has some touches of Robert Plant, that's the way it comes out. Can you do it? He has a powerful voice, he's not trying to sound like anyone but himself. Josh has the gift!
So cool their drummer plays acoustic. They’re in for the long haul
He played acoustic before drums, he learned drums to be in the band I believe.
I agree with you, it's a pleasure seeing him play!
And "drummer" can PLAY !!!
And he doesn’t just contribute on acoustic, he DELIVERS!
Its easy
Frodo got some pipes.
FlamingoSalad pippin
FlamingoSalad They come in pipes? I'm gettin' one!
FlamingoSalad
Her name is Greta you idiot
lolol
Josh probably has the widest vocal range of all singers today. He can talk low, sing high and still maintain an amazing tone. People only dislike because they're jealous.
real musicians not afraid to unplug!
I'm with you on this. From Clapton to Neil Young to Nirvana and others that have done unplugged, I really love an acoustic set sometimes
3 speed Sting-Ray they are plugged in playing acoustic guitars. I do like when artists play acoustic sets.
One of my favorite live shows was when Govt Mule did one of their rare live acoustic first sets before blasting into a hard rocking second set. It was on a quiet, snowy evening, so the somber mood was already set.
they're all plugged in...
Jackson Miller ahahah yeah yeah i'm joking
Fuck off to all the haters.
Sometimes I hear zepplin, sometimes i hear a little Rush, always i hear greatness when listening to Greta Van Fleet! They are one of a kind and amazing!!!
*THIS BAND IS SO PHENOMENAL!!!*
I love hearing what Sammy is doing in the background its just so beautiful
Was skeptical at first to see the drummer and bassist also playing guitars but..... holy shit that was amazing. Those guitar harmonies and THOSE VOCALS :O Too good.
Aurooj Khan omfg i didn't even realise the drummer was on guitar lmao
Sam plays bass guitar and keyboards.
the bass player is what i really think what holds it all together , just looking him playing bass you know that he was a guitar player before holding down the bass possy , correct me if i am wrong he also plays key boards?
Just badass. Only just discovered them a couple months ago. There is just not nearly enuff Greta Van Fleet in the World yet. My favorite band, hands down
When you know the sound man has never heard of back up vocals
It doesn't even sound like the mic was hot. Really poor job by their sound guy.
Damn, you got that right. The backing vocals are an important aspect of the song.
HAHAHAHA
@Thomas Reginald @Bill Kropp Interesting. I’ve been using the Cockie of Gracissity.
Basically only Josh and Jake. Missed out big time.
3:15 all the way to 3:38 - Josh's note - wow.
Geo L
That gave me cancer. Sounds like a cat in heat who wants to also be robert plant
Shane S. He he he. You could look at it that way, and I won't argue.
There's power in Josh's vocals. Imo, I too think Plant's voice is better.

Awesome
Geo L as we speak about Rik Emmet and geddy lee i just wanna say that think Riks voice is better hate me all you want
I love when they play this stripped down, acoustic version. Such talented guys!
Those guitar harmonies were awesome
Sam1973. Those guitar harmonies, as well as the riffs are as rudimentary as it gets. Fans who tout the musicality of these beginners do not know what they are talking about.Compare their ability to what the dinosaur rockers had when they were this age, and you are left with a garage band that has a cool singer.

They are hands down the most talented young band out there.
Brian Stewart Ever heard of the Wentzel Brothers Band? They are younger than Greta Van Fleet, but less popular. They have some good 70s rock sounding originals.
Issac Wentzel when you forget to switch accounts before you plug ur own band
Chris F 😂😂😂 I thought nobody would notice
@@issacwentzel5130 love self promotion. Gotta have confidence to persevere. Good luck to you and your band.
Dont forget about kaleo pls :)
I've been waiting nearly 25 years for a band like this to come along. I thought they never would. These guys are something else.
those mics are horrendous, what a shame, they deserve better
TheAznChild911 I like the sound. It's different
Można Was słuchać bez przerwy. Brawo 😊😊😊
Nah. It's more a mixture of mic placement and mixing board skills.
Definitely, probably an issue of poor mixing too
wow...the gifted drummer is an accomplished guitarist too
He played guitar first when he was young. Then picked up the drums and decided he liked drumming better
dude, they are amazing, there's nothing to complain
Milton Lucas only not proper mic set up but nothing at their end
Give that mans Mic some reverb Jesus Christ they mix him so dry his voice is to good for that its not punk vocals throw some shit on them vox bro
J.t. Orem yea some acoustics or effects woulda been nice
Weirdly I do think this shows he's more than capable to pull it off still just my opinion but I do agree with your statement too! :P
He likes to sing with no effects to display his vocal ability from what I've heard. It's a personal preference, but I agree. he could use just a touch of reverb to fill out the sound.
Yeah, totally. A little bit of the cat scratch fever, say.
Ben Scott oh for sure he can do it but I mean we already know he can he doesn't have really a whole lot more to prove put some effects on it'll make it a better experience for us the listener I'm not saying T-Pain auto-tune just something to fill it out
I think theyre great. So much potential. I hope for at least 7 albums.
I am happy to see a young band like these guys making it, I have a son that worked his tail off to make it and just never got there. He had high hopes and I had high hopes for him. He plays several instruments and wrote his own music and lyrics, many I thought were radio worthy.

From Australia , love these guys , Peace from down under.
They are so good. I needed to hear this. I was born in the 80 s and this takes me back.
The acoustic version will always be most favorite version hands down. The guitar work is so amazing 🤩
Great new band hope they continue the good work
Vocals started off a little eh for me, but the second verse onward they all absolutely crushed it. Excellent job boys
Brian Wright Jr he chose to sing it that way. Its live it doesnt have to be exactly like the studio recording
He only was checking his vocals and to the second verse it was calculated the micro
GREAT ! What a feeling for Music !!!
I love this acoustic version.
this guy can sing his ass off, definitely robert plant and actually kinda reminds me of geddy lee from rush, these guys are awesome
You can see how nervous this guy was in the beginning of the video, but he nailed it. They all are brilliant, this is a band i respect for the new generation. Respect to Detroit.🤘

Well rounded group with plenty of talent, and more to learn and refine.
They will be legend!

Radio.com did not have any more microphones to better hear backing vocals
winter cherry I agree, maybe a sound check. The guitars are louder than Josh & Can't Jake or Danny at all.
absolutely flawless.
Talent truly redefined.. Brilliant!!
This tune cooks when it is done on acoustic guitar. The original recording with electric guitars is the shit. But when these guys do this with acoustics the tune COOKS.
but what the fuck happens at 3:15? !!
the note remains held, harmonic and stable for 15 seconds.
this guy is a phenomenon!
I like how Danny played the drum intro on the guitar 😆🔥
Such fucking bullshit when people talk about how they miss classic rock in todays music scene - then go on to bash such a pristine band like GvF. This is the healthiest thing to have ever happened to modern music....
Room full of talent!

Have you seen a drummer play a guitar so good ?
This band is for real, so what the singer has some touches of Robert Plant, that's the way it comes out. Can you do it? He has a powerful voice, he's not trying to sound like anyone but himself. Josh has the gift!
Say what you want. They are impressive as he'll. Can't deny the talents they continue to display.
