If anyone can help... I'm a little confused, is the 16th pattern a "closed" one? Or does the last 2 strums of the pattern happen to be the 2 first strums of the next, doing an open cycle? I keep counting 14th notes, that's why I ask. I'm a begginer, btw.

A little variation on this I like to play is G - D/F# - Am on the chorus. It keeps the chords nice and light, I find that the regular D in the section deadens the song a bit.

F# and B for the verses. for the chorus A, E and B. if your a bit advanced you can use little bass licks and variatons in the key of F#m. last edit xD. check out sites like ultimate-guitar dot com. most songs are tabbed. by the way. i play bass a lot too and just listening and playing along with the song is the best way to learn. figuring the song out by ear is really good for your playing.

This is a great one after you've completed module 4 on the beginners course. Travis never got enough love in the US in my opinion.

I'm probably tone deaf but starting on Ab minor to Dbm7 on the 4th fred kinda sounds better imo for the start...or am i wrong?

It might be he is using a full HD video camera, when filming in HD the sound does tend to be A LOT better
