Here's how to play that signature ascending lick from SRV's song "Tell Me" off of his debut album "Texas Flood". I taught this lick incorrectly a few years ago, and it's actually simpler than I thought.

Thank you for this lesson! When I first got into SRV, this was one of the songs I kept going back to. I read somewhere years ago that the recording on Texas Flood was done on his old yellow Strat with a single pickup. It's one of his guitars that was stolen and never found.

There's a 2 chord rhythm that turns into an arpeggio with a little vibrato he does at the El Mocambo version of Tell Me that isn't on the studio version. It sounds like a choo choo train bell Lol. In addition to that Texas Flood lick in one of your other videos its my fav lick in the El Mocambo show. He does it while Tommy Shannon is walking bass and together it sounds amazing ❤❤❤ I'd really like you to post that arpeggio in Tell Me Live At El Mocambo version if you can. SRV was a great rhythm guitarist as well. When I hear it makes me want to do a happy dance. It sounds great with Tommy Shannon
