Please keep posting these older shows; I enjoy watching them! You might put the original airdate - or just the year - in the title to reduce the confusion of some viewers.
This was just what I needed. The color of the Vette reminds me of the Ford color Stacey used as a base for the Copperhead color. I bet if you would put the same flake in this paint just like the Copperhead paint it would come alive in the same sensational way...
Let’s be honest, Stacy’s videos stand the test of time. Change a few descriptors that date this video and you have something that could come out in 2025, 2015, 2008 and still be entertaining & relevant.
The fact that he's got the Rat Roaster in the beginning stages AND he mentioned Tony Stewart shows how old this episode is 😅, hell I remember being 13nyears old seeing these episodes after school
And you lose a few lbs of boost in the long tubes. And just imagine trying to keep all those solid to flex tubing connection points from leaking. The long cold side tube(s) goes tend to act like a free heat exchanger though.
@danmyers9372 Cleetus has a NASCAR truck. He put twin turbos in the back. Works real good only longer spool up time. That why they rev the engine up when drag racing to bring the turbo pressure up a little and it's spinning at launch. Quicker response.
Well hindsight being as good as it is: Big time turbo lag, loss of boost pressure, extra weight from the extra tubing. Multiple tubing connection points that can loosen. Having to run separate oil pumps and long lines to send and return engine oil to the back of the car (leaks!). Returning excess oil to the valve covers screwing up the OE engineered engine lubrication system (too much oil up top in the engine). Air intake under the car where it can pick up moisture, dirt, pebbles, misc trash. Yeah it makes so much sense the company died and was bought out by Holley.
Its still excellent entertainment. No matter how old it is. Once everything is electric, this will be entertainment gold in terms of gear head material. Because this stuff isn't coming back and shows like this will never return.
Maybe I'm too much of a Corvette purist having owned 6 in my lifetime but putting those hideous smoke painting on a brand new vette ruins the whole project for me. If I won it I'd wrap it to cover them up.
I'll watch, but a corvette wouldnt be on my list. Order of preference, (3) LP gallardo manual, (2) ferrari 458 manual conversion, (1) De Tomaso Pantera with a Shelby voodoo v8 in it.
I just seen a 2008 C6 Z06 with 2,000 miles for $64,000 which already does 198 mph comes with all the better performance upgrades. So if you could talk them down to $59K add a Z06 twin turbo kit & a few other goodies. You could have an insane build that's basically new with 2000 miles. For a very good price that'll smoke or hang with many $250,000 + import supercars.
This sucks!! You guys just posted this 15 hours ago. And the give away has expired? I have not even finished watching the build. Stacey should not have his name attached to this. Not cool guys not cool!
Let me guess. You prefer driving around a Honda Civic with a loud obnoxious pipe on the back with the stupidest douchebag look on your face you can muster up. Am I close??...
I miss growing up watching Stacy fix stuff up on the weekends shows!!
*Wish it had the original airing date of this in the description*
That was an awesome giveaway back in 2008!!! 😁👍🚘 with that cool Corvette 'Atomic Orange Metallic' paint job!!!

Who is here in 2008?
Watching this back in 08 I took it for granted that those days would never end. Boy was I wrong. 😢😢😢😢
Watched the episode when it aired.

Never knew about this kit. The hidden intake tubing is DIABOLICAL. Makes it even more wilder knowing how cheap C6’s are nowadays
Man it really grinds my gears watching him smoke up those new tires on the back!! Good thing I've had like 15 yrs to get over it!!! 😂😂😂
The fact that he's got the Rat Roaster in the beginning stages AND he mentioned Tony Stewart shows how old this episode is 😅, hell I remember being 13nyears old seeing these episodes after school
The only problem with the turbos in the back is spool up time is slower the further from the engine it is.
Keepemcoming
True, that was the notion 10+ years ago. But that same build with today's turbo technology, the lag really isn't a thing anymore.

damn i just missed the giveaway..... good luck to the winner
🤣
You know I haven’t seen heavy metal in sometime wood love to see a update
22:35. Everyone needs to go back riding bikes for obvious reasons, lol.
So cool!!😎👍
Need to do a new version of this build.
FYI, to date this video note that the magazine Stacey plopped into the C6 roof was the February 2008 edition of Motor Trend.
I love that Orange.
LFG!!
i assume they had to tune this thing so it could properly use all that boost but they didn't really talk about that part
Is STS still in business?
No. They were bought out by Holley who does still sell some of their kits.
@@danmyers9372 - Thanks for the info!
I would take this vet over any new Corvette.
any new? what about barely used.... a 19' Zr1 3zr ztk is only like 9,000,000 times better
The oil pumps return oil to engine, they dont supply oil to the turbos.
C5 logo on the rims for a C6…lol. And that smoke graphics is hideous
Agree! Get rid of that air-brushed "smoked" artwork!! Hideous indeed!!!
😎🤘💪🇺🇸💪🍻. HELL YEA!
Wasn't that on OLD Motor Trend issue???
I wonder where the car is now?
Rear mounted turbos really don't get the ise they should...space , heat, tidiness ...just makes sense

no tune or dyno numbers .. but over all cool project
I hate when they post a super old episode like its new. This is like 15-17 years old
Agreed. Lost me at "Brand new C6".
Then don’t watch it pretty simple
You do realize that there are kids who might be seeing this for the first time?
The world doesn't revolve around you....

this episode is like 5 years old don't understand why there airing it like a new episode
Try 15 years old if not older.
Monetary gain
More 15 years
Didnt seem very fast
Was fast for 15 years ago.

Damn how old is this 😂
15+ years.
How the hell is that a brand new Corvette? Gene Simmons has no idea what he's talking about
Brother this was filmed in the past 😂 they’re just not putting it on UA-cam
You do realize that this specific episode is more than 15 years old, right?
SD knows his shiit and doesn't wear a yamaka. Please dont insult him like that.
Graphics are always awful

The give away was in 2008. This is just the full build of the car from the TV shows back then.
😹😹😹
Honestly I would ebay this pile of garbage american scrap iron and buy a real car.
Good thing you didn't win it then
No,........ No you wouldn't.....
Let me guess. You prefer driving around a Honda Civic with a loud obnoxious pipe on the back with the stupidest douchebag look on your face you can muster up. Am I close??...
And buy what a Honda with a fart can muffler? Even that would be better than Tesla toaster oven on wheels.
@mynameisray Sounds like you will need the Dmc DeLorean and go 88mph fly back in time to 2008 for this contest lol.
