From Lincoln, got an exemption for BT and just finished MA. Prepared to do 3-4 papers next year. I used to take one of your accounting seminars and I have to say you are definitely one of the best tutors here in Lincoln and you are the only one posting all the supporting documentation on the blackboard. It is amazing to find you on youtube and to be able to see these great videos you posted.

Hi James. Great video's, wish I discovered these sooner in my ACCA studies. From Ireland, currently an affiliate. Completed the CAT and then went onto the ACCA professional qualification. I would definitely recommend past papers to all students and to completed PER as you go along. I left PER last and now looking for guidance, which is where I discovered your videos. Finding it difficult to get started in the PER but found your PER video helpful, thank you.

Hii can you please let me knkw about the scope of ACCA in New Zealand,? Because iam a currently doing ACCA and ilovee New Zealand,, so i wanna know if there's a scope for ACCA in that beautiful country?
Hi james.thanks for sharing your experience of your journey towards ACCA. My case is similar to your's.I got 5 exemptions and started from taxation F6 BACK in 2008.like you said was not aware how to plan the journey.i decided to attempt 3 papers in one go in first attempt (also doing job).so ultimately failed in f7 and did not attempt AA but passed F6. After a long pause just started my journey 9 months ago; still doing job of 12 hours 6 days a week but this time attempting one paper after 3 months.guess what I cleared FR in first attempt scoring 61 and waiting AA results.much hopeful and confident that I will pass AA.

From South Africa - I didn't complete my degree at University and decided it was time to correct this mistake in 2016. I submitted my academic transcript and ACCA offered me 4 exemptions. I decided to forfeit these and start from the bottom so to speak. Balancing work commitments with studies was really difficult for me as I had a high pressure job at the time. I only sat 1 paper when I registered in 2016. At the start of 2019 I challenged myself to get through all the Fundamental papers by year end. I ended up completing 3 papers in 2019, due to a number of reasons, but I was happy with my improvement. I also failed my first paper in the December sitting - PM. It opened my eyes to the fact that a fail isn't the end of the world, which was partly the reason I had put off writing more exams in the prior years - the fear of failing. I passed PM and Tx UK in March 2020 and then FR and FM in September, failing AA by the slimmest of margins, the dreaded 49% I've already booked to retake AA in December, which is also my last Fundamental paper. After that I will pursue the OBU Bsc RAP program and the Professional level papers next year.

You say taking two exams at a time was hard. In my day in 1970 parts 3 and Part 4 contained 5 papers which had to be taken at same time. If you failed one you had to take them all again. One exception was that if you failed one paper and it was not a bad fail you could get referred in one subject that you had to pass at a higher pass rate. If you failed that one subject you had to take them all again.

Hey mate! Nice video as always, I am having confusion about F4(LW) exam which variant should i choose Global or English. I want to come to the UK for my masters but i am from asia so i am having a hard time to decide. Please guide if possible.
Thanks for the support and glad to hear you liked the video SilentRingMaster! I would say it will depend where you expect to complete your future ACCA examinations such as the professional and option papers. If you think you will sit these in the UK then pick UK, but if you feel you will finish these in Asia then I would go global. I don't think there will be an issue doing some UK and some Global papers but always worth double checking and getting this in writing from ACCA. As always, make sure you do your research before you make any decision. The best place to contact someone from ACCA to confirm this is here: www.accaglobal.com/contactus All the best and good luck with the upcoming exams! James

@@JamesWrightACCA thank you so much! I had a question related to this...would you advise that I took my ACCA examinations, with exemptions, after my bachelor's degree like most people in the UK or do it simultaneously with my university degree?
@@vighneshr02 after University 100%. Try and find an employer that will put you on a study contract and see if your University are part of the "ACCA Accelerate" scheme which gives you discounted exemptions and lots of free resources 😁 I hope that helps and best of luck! Enjoy the new videos! James 😁
@@JamesWrightACCA haha thanks for the advice... I have definitely considered that option but the thing is it seems way more attractive to get out of uni with my acca in hand and with the course flexibility I feel that doing acca with my degree should be considered... If I feel its too much of a stress with my degree I can always stop and claim my exceptions after the degree for the papers I haven't written... I feel having my degree and my acca certificate in hand would be more valuable than waiting another year to gain my certificate and in that one year I could probably work on another course or something... Whats your take on this?
@@vighneshr02 I would work on other skills at University. You still need to work and gain 36 months experience at an employer. If you apply with too many exams and no experience you may be seen as over-qualified. I hope that helps and best of luck! James 😁

Hi James. Your video is informative thank you. I am new here in the UK and having a hard time finding a job. I graduated from BS Accountancy in the Philippines. worked for a logistics company as an Accounting Assistant and as an Audit Associate in EY Philippines. A friend of mine advised me to get a statement of comparability (UK-ENIC) and my UK qualification is BTEC level 5/ SQA HND (SCQF level 8) while the UK framework level is RQF level 5/SCQF level level/CQFW level 5. Now i am planning to start my ACCA journey and I dont know where to begin. I already emailed the ACCA to see my exemptions and they said i may be eligible for the following: BT,MA,FA and LW. I just want to know what is the difference between a statement of comparability and passing the ACCA exams. Also, having said of the possibility of exemptions, what qualification do i need to avail. Thank you.
Gréât Job James ... i started my ACCA journey 10 years ago & completed the Foundational papers -F1 -F3 : then in Cameroon. But after that I stopped. My question is - WILL I need to RE-REGISTER with the ACCA & re-do the Foundation papers I had already completed? Thks in Advance for ur response Bro 👍🏿👍🏿 thumbs up to ur videos
Hello Enking and welcome! 😁 Thank you for the kind comments to my video 😄 In terms of your query, there are a few matters you will have to check with the ACCA team: 1. Have you previous exemptions now run out due to the time since you last studied 2. If so, you may need to re-enrol as an ACCA student 3. Based on it being 10 years, I would say you may need to do these exams again. Thanks for the video. Could you help me understand what "part qualified" means? I am not sure how many exams I should have passed to apply to jobs as part qualified. thanks!
Hello San Molina 😄 Glad you enjoyed the video and it helped! ACCA part-qualified means you have pass all of the foundation papers (Applied knowledge and skills papers F1-F9) and I would recommend completing your Ethics and Professional Skills (EPSM) at this point too. More information can be found on the link below to help 👇 www.accaglobal.com/us/en/qualifications/glance/acca/how.html All the best and I hope you enjoy the new videos! 😄 James
@@JamesWrightACCA Thanks a lot for your answer, I really appreciate it. Can you help me with another question? Do you have any idea if people with university/college studies would be accepted without need to sit for the Foundations exams? I hold a Master's Degree in Economics from a Colombian University and I am not sure if it will be accepted as qualifications for entry requirements (I tried calling ACCA but no response). Thanks again! and have a good weekend!

Hi James, thanks for your helpful video. I am an ADAF student at BPP, will be having exams next month for F7, F8, F9 then the course will be ended. What is the process after completing 14 papers in terms of ethic modules and practical experience processes side? How long would the rest take to be able to become an ACCA? Would you also recommend me to stay at BPP with MSc course to complete the P papers ( I am a SF funded student and will have to apply again for MSc) or apply a job with ACCA education supporting options? I am 34 years old and worked as an accounts assistant for many years before studying ACCA, so I am looking for the shortest, easiest option to gain my qualification. Many thanks!
Hello Gul 😀 You are more than welcome and glad to hear you found the video helpful! All information on how to become ACCA Qualified can be found here directly on the ACCA website I would recommend you read through 👇👇www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/qualifications/glance/acca/how.html As you have already worked as an accountants assistant, I would also recommend you log onto your MyACCA and look to get your qualifying work experience signed off by your previous employer first of all and to complete your Ethics online module! 💯 I would also focus on gaining some work experience in a position, finish your ACCA at an employer and then moving onto a Masters when you know which area you wish to focus on/specialise in! The employer may even pay for your Masters if it relates to their business. I hope that helps 🤓 Best of luck and let me know how you get on with the exams. Amazing journey .Loved each and every aspect of this video . So i have a question . After completing up with your bachelors , u had 3 options to choose from , i.e ACCA , ACA and CIMA . Why did u prefer ACCA compared to other professional qualifications ? Any specific Reason ? Thanks
Thank you for the kind words Chinmay and glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I preferred ACCA at the start for 3 main reasons... 1. As ACCA had been proactive as a professional body coming into university delivering talks and hearing from members, it really motivated me as a student. 2. The staff members who were ACCA qualified really stood out to me and this made the difference. 3. In the workplace, everyone who was ACCA qualified and other staff members spoke so highly of ACCA so that is why I picked to study it. ... and here we are today ACCA qualified! Hoping my videos and I can help your journey now. All the best and good luck with your next exam! James
Hello Chileshe! 😎 Great question and the simple answer is No it doesn't matter... as long as you achieve 50 or over in your exams with the relevant experience/ethics module submitted you will have the opportunity to submit for membership 😁 Reaching 50/50+ is harder than you think, especially on the strategic & option papers.

Hello Allan, I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for leaving a comment! 😄

The best place to contact someone from ACCA to confirm this is here:

Presently I relocated to the UAE & I’ll like to continue my ACCA journey. However, I’ve tried LOGGING into « My-ACCA » portal all to no avail?
My question is - WILL I need to RE-REGISTER with the ACCA & re-do the Foundation papers I had already completed?

Hello Enking and welcome! 😁 Thank you for the kind comments to my video 😄 In terms of your query, there are a few matters you will have to check with the ACCA team:
1. Have you previous exemptions now run out due to the time since you last studied
2. If so, you may need to re-enrol as an ACCA student
3. Based on it being 10 years, I would say you may need to do these exams again.

As you have already worked as an accountants assistant, I would also recommend you log onto your MyACCA and look to get your qualifying work experience signed off by your previous employer first of all and to complete your Ethics online module! 💯
I would also focus on gaining some work experience in a position, finish your ACCA at an employer and then moving onto a Masters when you know which area you wish to focus on/specialise in! The employer may even pay for your Masters if it relates to their business. I hope that helps 🤓

Can I do ACCA after 10 or 12 grade.
And after the completion of ACCA, can I do MBA without having a degree just after ACCA
Hello Macbeth 😁 Thank you for the questions and I hope you found the video helpful! Depending on the country you are from, but I'm going to say after Grade 12 to start ACCA (more details can be found on the link below). Yes you can do an MBA after ACCA, make sure you complete the Oxford Brookes Applied BSc with your ACCA studies, detail on this are below:

I hope that helps answer your questions and you enjoy my new ACCA videos 😁 All the best! James

In addition, in case I wish to go abroad for higher studies to UK, Canada or to Malaysia like for Professional-level or For MSc, how should I prepare myself out? It is a different environment and very very expensive for us so should try for Tier 2 visa, student visa and then try going with a part-time job or something else?? What do you suggest brother??
Hello Tahmid and thank you for the question 😄 Visas are always the first place to start and to check the criteria for each country. If you are looking for roles, I would recommend you set up a profile on ACCA's Careers site on the link below! 👇

I'm from India. I want to explore new countries as well. which country would be the best to work with as ACCA ?
Hello Uday! 😁 I secured my role before I left the UK. For security and in some case visa requirements, you need to do your research into roles, salaries and available positions. The best place to start from ACCA directly is:
jobs.accaglobal.com/
Apply directly to companies you wish to work and and organisation you wish to work for! Remember a career is a long time so make sure it is something you enjoy 😃 Hoping the tips and videos help! Best of luck! 😃 James
Is it easy for an average student who is weak in accountancy to complete ACCA within 3 years?
Great question Mallu 😎 Of course it is achievable but it all depends on the individuals' circumstances such as if you have to work full time, family commitments and other things. You also would need to work for a company to gain the qualifying 36 months experience to submit when applying for membership...

Hiya James, Sian from the UK here. I passed my FA in August and just under a week out from my MA exam, got my BT exam booked in December. Found your channel about a week ago and your tips have really helped me get a level head ahead of my next exam! Will definitely keep watching throughout the rest of my ACCA journey - thanks for all the advice and tips!
Is it really a nice professional degree because I'm from India and don't know about ACCA.
It is a great qualification to achieve Hitesh and it can be your passport to travel the world being recognised in so many countries!

James
Does the grade you get at the end of your acca journey matter ???
Hello Chileshe! 😎 Great question and the simple answer is No it doesn't matter... as long as you achieve 50 or over in your exams with the relevant experience/ethics module submitted you will have the opportunity to submit for membership 😁
Reaching 50/50+ is harder than you think, especially on the strategic & option papers. I would recommend you watch my video on this to help you prepare:
